one list or the other and select the radio button of the list you want
to use.
I'm using JavaScript to automatically select the radio button
corresponding to a list when you click on the list (using the onclick
event handler). Is that the best event to change on, or should this
behavior be triggered on the onChange event - so if they don't change
the value they won't have to re-select the other radio button?

Feb 22, 2010I'm dynamically generating radio buttons, but in Internet Explorer (tested in versions 7 & 6), you cannot change the radio buttons after they've been added. In Firefox (testing in 3.6) it's fine. I've mocked up some code below which shows the issue. It generated up to 10 radio buttons (by random number) and checks that radio button programmatically. However you cannot manually select an already generated radio button.

Automatically Select From The Drop Down Menu The Group Associated With That Particular "join This Group" Link
Jun 9, 2010I'm a relative novice at java script. I've been working on a google map that can be found at: [URL](way too much code to post here). Each of the makers on the map has s particular set of information that pops up in a window when it is clicked, including a hyperlink called "join this group." Right now clicking on that link merely takes the user to the form at the bottom of the page.
What I would like the link to do is to both take the user to form at the bottom of the page and automatically select from the drop down menu the group associated with that particular "join this group" link. For example, if a user selected the marker representing the Neighborhood, Beverly group and then hit the join this group link, the drop down menu would automatically select the Neighborhood, Beverly (Pless) for them. I suspect this involves using java script to pass a value. I just have had no luck getting it to work.
JQuery :: Detect That Checkbox / Radio's State Has Changed / When .change Doesn't Work?
Jul 29, 2011I've created a checkbox and radio button replacement plugin (URL...), and I'm trying to be as thorough as possible.One situation that I have yet to solve is if a button is given the attribute checked="checked" through some external function. I'm not sure of how to detect this event so that the replacement image is also updated. The .change() method only works when the user actually clicks on the button.The reason I am trying to work this out is because I am adding support for disabled buttons as well. From what I've seen, there are plenty of situations where a button is disabled until a user either selects something else, or fills in required info, etc., and then it is enabled (most likely through the removal of disabled= 'disabled '). If the developer has already worked that in, I don't want the implementation of my plugin to affect that. It should just work automatically.I do check the states on page load, but i'm not running any sort of loop to constantly look for changes.

I have the script firing up ok and prompting the user, but I'm darned if I can figure out how to undo the change if required.
What I want to do is something like document.form.object.value=document.form.object.oldvalue but I have no idea what the correct properties are.....
So, how do you roll-back the selection in a <select>?

JQuery :: Rotate Through Images Automatically When Icon Clicked
May 29, 2010I wrote a little jquery that will rotate through images automatically and when you click on an it's icon. If I let the rotator cycle throught the images everything is fine, but when I click on it's icon, the div tag that holds the images gets space added to the bottom and I can't figure out why? I tried everything css related so this appears to be something jquery related.

Automatically Redirect From Array Of URL's?
Feb 7, 2011I was wondering how to write the following, using the redirect or replace: I want to make a sort of automated slideshow, only with web pages.
you would have an array of URL's (say 10). I have a main frame containing an iFrame, in which the URL's should appear, one after the other, with a delay of say 5 sec. so, it would instruct "redirect to this URL, wait 5 seconds, then redirect to the next in the array automatically, till the end of array.
Also, it would be cool if you could set the delay time specifically for each loaded URL...?
Right now, after 5 seconds, it redirects to google...

Textbox When Radio Button Clicked
Jul 23, 2005I have a form with 2 radio buttons (ACCEPT/REJECT). When the page is initially loaded, no textbox should be visible.
When a user clicks the REJECT radio button, a textbox should automatically appear below the radiobutton where the user can motivate why he chose the reject option (which we require).
When the user clicks the ACCEPT radio button, the textbox should not appear because we don't need motivations for accept actions.
Does someone have a clue if and how I can realize this in JavaScript?

I didn't know that forms could automatically be referred by the elements dom without having a name or an id assigned to it. Drop Down List Value Returned On Submit Button Being Clicked?
Jun 24, 2009I have a drop down selection box with items in it. I need to be able to pass the selected item through using an onclick event for the "Submit" button. Is this possible?
I have a Javascript that is calling a div to popup. This div is the drop down selector. I want the user to click a button to make the drop down appear, then they must select an item in the list and then hit submit. The submit button being clicked I need to bring in the selected value from the drop down and use it in the script that originally told the div to pop up (this is the first button that the user clicks, it actually runs the script which passes 2 variables, and is basically waiting on the drop down selection to save into a 3rd variable, which will then call a PageMethod).
