Change CSS Property Onload

Mar 28, 2007

I have developed a script that change the font size in css, but only
the attribute "font-size" on the body tag, not change the entire
active stylesheet.

When i click to change the size
<a href="#" title="Change Font Size"
onclick="cambia_font_size(2);">A</a>

It works fine, but when i try to check the cookie to set the default
font size, it does not work.

The cookie stores the value correctly and i can read the value. The
problem is when i try to change the value:
document.getElementsByTagName("body")[0].style.fontSize=tam;

I have tried also writing this code at the end of the html document
but it doesnt work
<script type="text/javascript">inicializa_fontsize();</script>

Image Change Using OnLoad SetInterval

Mar 4, 2010

I am trying to write a script that automatically changes an image on a web page on certain timings under the condition that a user never close or reload the page (for example, show black.jpg on Thursday 4:30-6:00 PM local time, show blue.jpg on Friday 3:15-5:00 PM local time and otherwise show red.jpg). The problem is that the black.jpg or blue.jpg never appears no matter how I change the numbers inside of, for example, "if (i>= 3204000 && i< 3205000)". Only the yellow.jpg and (approximately one second later) red.jpg. appear.

Change Image Size With DOM

Jul 9, 2007

I have following image on my page, I use it as a spacer gif to get correct columns sizes.

<img id="leftcolumnspacer" src="images/spacer.gif" alt="">

I also enable the admin to preview the site in an iframe and change size of for exp. left column. Playing with td sizes do not give me exact pixel sizes, so I would like to make sure that a td is displayed correctly, by resizing the spacer gif.

var LeftColumnSpacerWidth = myForm.leftcolumnspacer_width.value; // comes from the form
var leftcolumnspacer = frames['testsite'].document.getElementById('leftcolumnspacer');
leftcolumspacer.style.width = LeftColumnSpacerWidth;

Why would this code not change the sizes of an image dynamically?

Use OnLoad To Change The Color Of A Word Within Document?

Oct 3, 2010

I have a simple html document that is dynamically created. It comes to me like this:

<body>
432 (Locked) (Disabled) <br />
545 (Unlocked) (Enabled) <br />
756 (Unlocked) (Disabled) <br />
</body>

The actual list is much longer and varies in length. What I am attempting to do is when a user opens the page, if a line contains Locked or Disabled, change the color of those words (or the whole line that contains them) to red.

Change Styling With Script , Onload After Targeted Tag?

Sep 25, 2011

I've been given the task of designing within this incredibly rigid site builder program of a clients (seriously I think it's coding circa 1995). I've got a design, but we've had some browser complications. Like I said this thing is very particular, the only way I can change anything is by adding snippets of code in a custom html form that they have. Working everything around, I've had to position an image absolutely so it doesn't expand the body of the page. This though has conflicted with some hover over dropdown submenus. I've figured out that if I can just change that style to the next z-index level it could work. I can't place any kind of code above this instance, so I wondered if I would be able to do this with javascript using a window.onload call? It's been awhile since I've done anything with javascript, so I'm not entirely sure how to do this, or for that matter if it's even possible.

One other thing, this is called on by a class. I know I can't use getElementByID, but think it might be possible to use getElementByTagName ('ul') to do this.

Change Font Size Of #s In Address?

May 21, 2009

I operate as a admin a online print site where clients can enter in contact info to create imprint on promotional items.

I create pdf templates with field placeholders |1.1|[address]

This template is uploaded to the print site which interprets the tags and makes them into variable fields for clients to enter in their info. The site can pull the font name, size, position, etc... from the pdf template.

For each info field that the site creates it also has an option to apply javascript to that field. So if the template predefines font size X, I just want to apply code that will affect only the numbers of that text and make the numbers a larger font size than the letters.

The code I'm use to writing is pretty simple stuff for example to format dots instead of dashes for phone numbers like:

if (hasValue(curInput.name))
{
if (! AutoFormat(curInput, '###.###.####', 'Please enter your number in a 555.555.5555 format'))curInput.focus();
}

Change Font Size Mid Line?

Nov 7, 2009

I want to deviate from using css to designate a font size in one place.

I have a string with a name.

This is stored in a variable called "name."

I just re-defined name to include district number.

Now, it is name=lastname+', '+district;

I am appending this string into the html dom.

I want the district portion to appear in a slightly smaller font.

How can I do this without having to set up a separate <span>? Or can this be done?

ElementID - Persistent DIV Size Change

Jul 16, 2009

I have two divs, one with the ID 'leftcol' and the other 'bodydiv'. I have found some code on DynamicDrive site to resize and hide the leftcol div but I want bodydiv to expand to fill the space. Both are absolute divs though, and leftcol is simply "left: 210px;" and "width:auto;". The dynamic drive script is persistent so if I hide the menu it is still hidden on the next page. I need to do something similar. Say for example that I call it toggle (elementId), I need to hide leftcol and set "left: 0px;" for bodydiv, but next time show leftcol (can use the existing animation function for that) and set left back to 210px for leftcol. As I say, it must persist on each machine.

OnClick Change Flash Size And DIV

Sep 10, 2009

I need a code that when a button or image is clicked then a div's width and height are changed. I've managed to get a few codes that does this, but the real problem is that, the contents of the div is an embedded flash file and i thought that by setting the flash width and height to 100% then the flash would fit to the new size of the div, but it just didn't work. I need a code that when a button is clicked then the div's and the flash's width and height are changed.

Please have a look at the temp website latinunit net / temp / , you will understand where I am coming from. On the right hand side I have a flash chat in a div , div is controlled by a script that allows it to follow the scrollers up and down. My goal is to add a little button in the same div that says expand or maximize so when clicked the the div expands as well as the flash file.

Change Font-size When Opera Detected?

Oct 7, 2009

I need to get JavaScript to change the font size used for a website if Opera is detected. I have been trying this but it hasn't worked:

function changeFooter(){
if (navigator.userAgent.indexOf("Opera") >= 0) { // if I alert this line the output is 0
document.getElementById("footer").style.fontSize = '0.5em';
};

[Code].....

I was hoping that I could benefit from your collective wisdom as I am not sure where I am going wrong with this and several hours spent searching the web for answers have been fruitless so far...

My knowledge of JavaScript is not very extensive, I haven't studied it in great depth so perhaps I am making some very silly mistakes here.

My pseudo code for this exercise is something like this:

detect browser
if browser = Opera {
change font-size for body to 90%
}

[Code]....
