I'd like to have a select box redirect to a different page when an option is chosen, but I'd only like to have it redirect for specified options. Most options will not do anything on click, but I'd like a couple to redirect on click.
<SCRIPT LANGUAGE="JavaScript"> <!-- function JumpToIt(list) { var newPage = list.options[list.selectedIndex].value if (newPage != "None") { location.href=newPage } } //--> </SCRIPT>
Which in turn selects an option from the original dropdown.
Works fine except.....
The options in the select call scripts that open new browser windows, and when this occurs popup blockers swing into action and block the new window. When I originally had the javascript calls as plain links such as [HREF="javascript:onCreatePrintable()"] the popup was not blocked since it was obvious that user was clicking the link. Now that I'm trying to save much needed space by putting these links into a dropdown, the popup blockers are not recognizing the user selection.... I guess. I was thinking the javascript could somehow simulate an onClick to alleviate the problem. Any suggestions?
As you can see the image has an onclick associated with it.I want to do a similar thing with the selection of the font-size.As the action needs to occur after the client has selected the size, probably I will need "on buttun up" ( or is it onRelease ? ) this one <select name="x_size"> ?or on all the option statements ?
[URL]you see the Select Drop Down called: Fonts, well if you choose say Airstrip or Arial the image should change but the problem i am having is. It works in IE9 and FF but doesn't seem to work in IE7, IE8 or Google Chrome i hope someone can help here is the code:
I have made some application in JavaScript. I need some help from you friends.Whenever i click on some image i want that image should get selected. Same as we select when we drag on it with mouse. Hope u got what i mean.
What i want to do is replace the textbox of a form with a selectbox if a user clicks the textbox.can someone help me here with the code,as i don't code in javascript so don't really know where to start.
That's the code I'm basically looking for, I would show you the page - however I'm working through localhost and right now it's impractical to upload. The code I've given you gives you the required part anyway. What I want to do is where the buttons OnClick attribute refers to '((COLOR))' I want it to be whatever the select option is the the select field (red, blue or green).
For simplicity reasons as far as the coding is concerned, it'd be easier to avoid any functions.. (There's a lot of PHP, including files, etc - it'd be a hassel to get back to the head of the page :P). Also for practical reasons I'd prefer to avoid using a form with with the GET method to pass on the information.
I have a function that dynamically creates a new div, part of the function looks like: root = document.getElementById('rootbox2'); var oDiv=root.appendChild(document.createElement("div")); with(oDiv){ id=ji; className="workshopRow"; setAttribute("attending",""); setAttribute("attending_count","0"); } var oText = oDiv.appendChild (document.createTextNode("")); var oDiv1=oDiv.appendChild(document.createElement("div")); with(oDiv1){ className="workshopName"; } var oText = oDiv1.appendChild (document.createTextNode("")); var oSelect=oDiv1.appendChild(document.createElement("select")); with(oSelect){ name="select_"+ji; id="select_"+ji; className="workshop"; onchange="calc_subtotal("+ji+")"; } var oText = oSelect.appendChild (document.createTextNode("")); var oOption=oSelect.appendChild(document.createElement("option")); with(oOption){ value="12"; setAttribute("price",10); } What I am looking to do is add an onchange event to the select element, not sure if i have programmed it correctly but it does not seem to work.
The following code works for Radio buttons. If I select 'No', the text field 'no1' is displayed. However, I'd like to set it up so if they select 'Permanent' in the dropdown then the 'no1' is displayed.
I need to pass the selected option of a <select> tag into a query string, so that the page is reloaded with the selected option already chosen. This will occur with the onclick() event hander, and the query string will be processed using a server-side technology. I'm just not sure how to word the "onclick" handler. Here's what I have:
What is the correct wording to set the underlined portion to whatever was selected? I know it has to be done with JavaScript, since the decision is made on the client-side.
I have this table with alternate row colors. Class gray and class white. I have javascript that do highlight when mouseover row ... and onclick to select row and highlight it with another color. Also created a class called "Selected". You can only select a row at a time.
My problem is, if a row is preselected, when mouseover the selected row, the selected color is screwed. Until you click on the selected row once, the behaviour is correct again. Code:
I have a problem to solve where I have a Hidden set of 40 text inputs. A link to show 10 more of these in inputs at a time, all having unique ID's. The goal I am trying to accomplish is to set the focus to say the 10th input. If the "show more inputs" link is clicked then the focus should go to the next 10th input (really input ID number 20) and so on.
I've seen a variety of implementations around that enable selecting all or no checkboxes by using a checkbox to toggle that choice. However, I'm trying to find a way like this: I have two text links on my page: Select All, and Select None. How can I get those links to call a jquery function to select all or select no checkboxes in my form? As a little food for thought:
<head> $(function() { //function for selecting all or none...is there a way to make a single function that passes in a parameter to differentiate between selecting all or selecting none, or do I need a separate function for both?[code]....
I want to make it so that when I click on something, it changes what document.onclick does.
This is a simplified version of what I'm trying to do:
Code: <div id="clickme" onclick="document.onclick = function(){ alert ('This should not be alerted on the first click'); }">Click here</div>
However, as you'll notice, the alert box shows up on the first click as well. The only way I have been able to get around this behaviour is to have the first onclick execute a timer that will then set the document.onclick after 1ms, however this seems very messy to me.
i am trying to pass text from one select box to another select box. The logic is if 10 are added, no more passing must happen. Also if an item is already added, it mustn't be added again.I am using the for loop to check the existence of an item but it is not working: what am i doing wrong?
Code: function PassSelectValues(){ //pass values from select boxes to select boxes var counter;[code]....
why isn't counter incrementing at all? The alert message box does appear saying item exists but the item gets added anyway.
disable select until user puts mark in check box. Then enable select.I have two select box's on a page. The first asks what product, the second is based on the first and presents a list of pdf's according to which product the user selected. (yes, multi dimensional)What I have works fine, but now i need to make the user put a check mark in a check box before the First SELECT box becomes enabled/available.So basically, when they agree, they can get the download. Here are my select boxes.
HTML Code: <form> <select name="category" style="width:180px"></select> <select name="site" style="width:180px" onchange="openLink(this.value)"></select>[code]....
(ignore the The 'open' button. It's there in case the default option is what the user wants, so they don't have reselect via the select box.)
1. How do I disable the select boxes by default on page load?
2. How do I detect that the user has put a tick in and the enable the disabled Select box?
I have a php function that list all of the countries from my database as a select option, then based on what the user selects for their country im using jquery to make an ajax call and get all of the states/regions for that country. This part works fine. I'm running into an issues, as when a user login's in to edit their profile, how would I make the select change based on what is in the databse.
I'm having problems with a Javascript 'Lookup' function.
Basically, I have a select menu 'Customer' which triggers a 3 JS functions, to populate 2 extra select menus.
Using IE Developer Tools, during debugging, I get this error: Expected ';' Error
This relates to either: eval(ajax_CustContact[index].response); OR eval(ajax_CostCentreContact[index].response); (it's a bit random, as sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't)
I have tried changing the 'custid' to 'custname' to check whether it was an integer causing the problem, but had the same problem.
I have a ColdFusion page with a select drop down list. On submit, I'm storing the value in a cfparam and trying to use jQuery to auto select that particular option. Currently I'm using :contains but this is unacceptable because it selects the last item that contains the cfparam.
$("option:contains('<cfoutput>#form.company_type#</cfoutput>')").attr('selected', 'selected'); Is there something like this: $("option").equals('<cfoutput>#form.company_type#</cfoutput>')").attr('selected', 'selected');
[Code]....
I willconsider other alternatives to accomplishing my objective.
