Multiple Actions For A Rollover

Aug 25, 2011

The goal of the file is that when it loads in a browser, the 1st image is displayed in the top left (image 7441805.gif), along with the following three titles to the right of the image, as listed below: Java Demystified OOP Demystified Data Structures Demystified

When you place the mouse over "Java Demystified," the 7441805.gif image should still appear (which it does)), and a new window should pop-up and stay on the screen displaying "10% Discount for Java Demystified" until the user decides to do away with the new window by clicking on the "X". The new window does appear for about less than a second , and then goes away (actually it continuously flashes on and off very quickly), which is not what I want.

When you place the mouse over "OOP Demystified," the 0072253630.jpg image should appear (which it does), and a new window should pop-up and stay on the screen displaying "20% Discount for OOP Demystified" until the user decides to do away with the new window by clicking on the "X". The new window does appear for about less than a second , and then goes away (actually it continuously flashes on and off very quickly), which is not what I want.

When you place the mouse over "Data Structures Demystified," the 7417436.gif image should appear (which it does), and a new window should pop-up and stay on the screen displaying "15% Discount for Data Structures Demystified" until the user decides to do away with the new window by clicking on the "X". The new window does appear for about less than a second , and then goes away (actually it continuously flashes on and off very quickly), which is not what I want.

All of the files are loaded on my laptop, which is using Vista, is 32bit, has the IE9 browser installed, and pop-ups are disabled. When I try to use Mozilla (version 6.0), I am unable to disable the pop-ups, and therefore can not even get any new windows to open.

W/Multiple Form Submit Actions

Jul 23, 2005

I am trying to have two form actions on submission using a
javascript. The first calls a php class (http://www.blah.org/test.php)
and the second adds data to a mySQL database via a php function call (<?
php echo $editFormAction; ?>. Both actions work; however, only the
second action in the fucntion runs. Here is the code:

<script language=javascript>
<!--
function But1()
{
document.form1.action = "http://www.blah.org/test.php"
document.SubmitAbstract.submit(); // Submit the page
document.SubmitAbstract.action = <?php echo $editFormAction; ?>;
document.SubmitAbstract.submit();
return true;
}
-->
</script>

In this example, the document.SubmitAbstract.action = <?php echo
$editFormAction; ?>; action works fine. If I reverse the order:

<script language=javascript>
<!--
function But1()
{
document.SubmitAbstract.action = <?php echo $editFormAction; ?>;
document.SubmitAbstract.submit();
document.form1.action = "http://www.blah.org/test.php"
document.SubmitAbstract.submit(); // Submit the page
return true;
}
-->
</script>

only the test.php file runs. Any ideas?

Multiple Form Actions - Javascript Required?

Apr 28, 2006

I have a simple SEARCH form which matches items from my supplier and delivers the results to the 'body' frame of my website. This works fine and here is the code.

<FORM ACTION="xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx" TARGET="body">
<INPUT TYPE=HIDDEN NAME="partner" VALUE="xxxxx">
<INPUT TYPE=HIDDEN NAME="partnerId" VALUE="xxxxx">
<INPUT TYPE=HIDDEN NAME="xxx" VALUE="xxxx">
<CENTER>
<P ALIGN=CENTER>
<INPUT TYPE=TEXT NAME="xxxxxxx" SIZE="25" MAXLENGTH="256"><FONT COLOR="WHITE">..<INPUT TYPE=SUBMIT VALUE="Go"><INPUT TYPE=RESET VALUE="Clear"></FONT>
</FORM></TD>

However what I would like to do is use the same SEARCH box information typed in to generate a second search at another supplier and deliver the results alongside in another frame. The frame part is easy enough but how can I get two Form Actions from one form?
I understand it cannot be done in HTML but it may be possible in Javascript.

JQuery :: Binding/stacking Multiple Actions To One Event On An Element At Two Different Times?

Jan 20, 2011

We know that multiple calls to $(document).ready(); in the same page is possible.

I have a situation where another team implemented a $('#element').live('click', function() { /* Do this */} ); call on #element. I cannot modify this code, but I need to take an additional action on the same element on the same event. So, two actions will occur when #element is clicked.

I tried making $('#element').live('click', function() { /* Do that */} ); but this call does not fire.

It needs to be .live() since #element is being dynamically added.

Is there any way to add more actions to the same event on #element?

Multiple Rollover Effect

<a href="index.html" onMouseOver="document.staffbios.src = staffbios2.src" onMouseOut="document.staffbios.src=staffbios1.src">

Can anyone tell me how to add a second image change to this? The first rollover is listed above. When the onMouseOver is called, I want it to ALSO make the change "document.home.src = document2.src" (and at onMouseOut "document.home.src=home1.src").

Is that possible?

Multiple Rollover Images With Links?

Jun 4, 2009

I have coded my navigation bar so when you mouseover a button (about us- for example), it displays a sub menu using images below using a simple multiple image swap. When I mouseover another main button, the first ones are replaced with the new sub menu items-images.

All works fine, however, I cannot figure out a way to code into the existing script to assign and make hyperlinks associated with the sub menu buttons change as well. Here's my web page: [URL]

I have just the main nav button links contractor and freelancer activated right now. Here's the code below (using MM_swapImage):

<script language="JavaScript">
<!--
function MM_swapImgRestore() { //v3.0
var i,x,a=document.MM_sr; for(i=0;a&&i<a.length&&(x=a[i])&&x.oSrc;i++)

Multiple Class Change On Hover / Rollover

Mar 6, 2010

In the past I've done image rollovers and that's fine. I got scripts for those, and got them to switch fine. But what I want to do is edit the backgroudn color of a TD, which is code defined, and not an image. Anyways, the basic thing I'm doing is a table that hold lots of numbers. I'm creating a "times table" - which looks roughly something like this:

......1 2 3 //top row (multiples)
1.....1 2 3
2.....2 4 6
3.....3 6 9

Now, when you rollover, let's say, the '6' - the TD background color for the '6', left '2' and top '3' would change to a different color (bolded in this example). This would work the same way for every other number as well, which involves overlapping classes. I've search for an answer for hours, to no avail. And here's a more "code specific" example of the table:

Code:
<table>
<tr>
<td>1</td><td>2</td><td>3</td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td>1</td><td>1</td><td>2</td><td>3</td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td>2</td><td>2</td><td>4</td><td>6</td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td>3</td><td>3</td><td>6</td><td>9</td>
</tr>
</table>

Also, the image rollover script I have goes like this:
Code:
<script type="text/javascript">
function MM_swapImgRestore() { //v3.0
var i,x,a=document.MM_sr; for(i=0;a&&i<a.length&&(x=a[i])&&x.oSrc;i++) x.src=x.oSrc;
}function MM_preloadImages() { //v3.0
var d=document; if(d.images){ if(!d.MM_p) d.MM_p=new Array();
var i,j=d.MM_p.length,a=MM_preloadImages.arguments; for(i=0; i<a.length; i++)
if (a[i].indexOf("#")!=0){ d.MM_p[j]=new Image; d.MM_p[j++].src=a[i];}}
} .....

Cross Browser Multiple Images Rollover

Nov 16, 2004

A site redesign I am working on has some fancy JavaScript requirements that are above my abilities. I usually find an appropriate script for the job from the internet, but with this particular problem I am having no such luck.

What's required is that when a user mouses over on a menu item, lets say the button 'About Us', three things happen:

1. The button 'about-us.gif' changes to 'about-over-over.gif'

2. An image in the body of the page changes from 'summary.png' to 'summary-about-us.png'

3. A text based sub menu appears in the body of the page.

Disjointed Rollover But Special Case Two Rollover States For Image?

Jun 5, 2010

I have navigation buttons that I'll call primary buttons. I also have secondary navigation buttons that I'll call secondary buttons. If you rollover a primary navigation button, it should make secondary navigation buttons 1,4,and 5 go to rollover state A. However, if you rollover secondary navigation button 1,4 or 5 they should go to rollover state B.So the simplest way I can explain it is that the secondary navigation buttons need two rollover states possible.

Dual Purpose Rollover (rollover Image And Iframe Change)?

May 11, 2010

Before, I had an iframe, and when I moused over a link outside the iframe, it would load a page into the iframe. Background image was part of the page loaded, as well as the text and what not. The problem was, the image took too long to load. I've been learning how to do javascript and I came across some code for preloading an image before the mouseover so there was zero wait time. For the past few days I've been trying to figure out how to have the preload image appear BENEATH the iframe (now with no background image or color) with the allowtransparency attribute set to true.

I've figured out the code to do both individually, i.e. I have the code so that when the link is moused over, the new image will appear; AND I have the code so that when the link is moused over, the page with load into the iframe. Both work, both do what is expected, but they don't do it together.Below is the script. Here's where it's confusing. If I have the "setupImgRollover..." first inside the if statement: the page loads into the iframe, but there is no image. If I have the "setupImgRollover..." after the "document.link..." commands in the if statement: the image appears but the page does not load into the iframe.

HTML Code:

window.onload = rolloverInit;
function rolloverInit() {
for (var i=0; i<document.links.length; i++) {
var linkObj = document.links[i];

2 Actions In Onsubmit

Jul 23, 2005

I have prepared a form with frontpage.

Before submitting the form I want the user to bu sure that he ha
completed it exactly. Sometimes people click ENTER button just t
continue the fill next part of the form but when we clic
ENTER,unfortunately, the form is submitted directly.

So I have written a function verify with javascript.

As following it works correctly:

onsubmit="return verify()"

So that the user needs to accept that he is OK to submit the form.

But when I added some required parts in the form that should b
verified the first fuction verify is no longer active.

So how can I verify both required parts in the form and that the use
is OK to send the form?

function test_function() {
$('#form_field_name').focus();
window.location = window.location + "#form_field_name";
}

Basically when clicking an error link, I want to focus onto the form field, and then move to the anchor itself on the page. One of these will work at a time, but not both and I'm not sure why.
