Making Rollover Effects On Top Of Font Effect Function?
Jun 5, 2011
I have a question today about making a rollover effect on top of the jQuery Font Effect plugin, like change the gradient color in this Anchor Tag. The code in my JavaScript looks like this.
Code:
<script type="text/javascript">
$('#realmaturesingles').FontEffect({
gradient:true,
[Code]....
How can I make a change to this using onmouseover html trigger? I need a function that would change the mirrorColor and color contained in the CSS styles for #seniorpeoplemeet and #realmaturesingles.

I am seeking to change the color attribute in my CSS file under the ID's #realmaturesingles and #seniorpeoplemeet upon the hovering of these links. These two ID's are initialized inside an <a> tag (these are links). How can I do this with JavaScript? This is what I tried:
Code:
<script type="text/javascript">
$('#seniorpeoplemeet').FontEffect({
gradient:true,
mirror:true,
mirrorColor:"#CCC"
})

if there's some effect in JQ that we can use to simulate rollover. Usually when user hovers a mouse over a link/image it changes its src/ background to another one (for example arrow.png -> arrow_o.png). So users feels like it is highlighted or similar. But we always must have 2 images (similar ones). Maybe there's some effect that can simulate this highligting/hover for user so we don't need to have 2 images. I understand it will never be as good as alternative image, but still.

I have just started using Superfish. I am using a reverse color scheme (the background is green font color white) - so when I rollover a main menu item the menu item rolled over has a background of white, font color is green. When I go to a sub menu item the background of the main menu item stays white, but the font also stays white (I want the font to stay green).This is an example of how I want my menu to work:
http:[url]....
(Notice that when you rollover and then fly out, the main menu item rolled over maintains its background and foreground color).This is the part of the superfish.css that I have edited:
/*** DEMO SKIN ***/
.sf-menu

I'm trying to add an image rollover effect, but when I put it into play, the first image slowly fades into the second image and stays at the second image before I even hover my mouse over it.

<a href="index.html" onMouseOver="document.staffbios.src = staffbios2.src" onMouseOut="document.staffbios.src=staffbios1.src">
Can anyone tell me how to add a second image change to this? The first rollover is listed above. When the onMouseOver is called, I want it to ALSO make the change "document.home.src = document2.src" (and at onMouseOut "document.home.src=home1.src").
Is that possible?

I am trying to implement a cool effect seen here: [URL] in the sidebar and detailled here: [URL]... ith-jquery with little success...
I have included the easing and color js files as well as jquery (present in the theme anyway).
The code I'm using is:
jQuery(document).ready(function(){
jQuery.easing.def = "easeInOutSine";
jQuery('#sidebar .widget ul li').bind('mouseenter',function(){
jQuery(this).stop().animate({
[Code].....
The line which I believe is causing problems is:
jQuery('#sidebar .widget ul li').bind('mouseenter',function(){
I have tried different variation of the element, e.g.
jQuery('#sidebar .widget > ul > li').bind('mouseenter',function(){
but simply don't know what this needs to be (or the relevance of using '>')
Thinking there may have been a conflict in the code, I disabled all other JS - this didn't help.
The site is [URL] (look for the categories in the sidebar).

I've tried to make a simple hover effect about small images but it won't work. I also tried to make the following script: 2 seconds after page loading image1 changes 2 seconds after that image1 returns to back state and image2 changes and etc.
<html>
<head>
<style type="text/css">
#as:hover{
background-image: url(images/numr.png);
} #ad:hover {
background-image: url(images/numr.png);
}#af:hover{
background-image: url(images/numr.png);
}
</style>
</head>
<body>
<input type="image" src="images/num1.png" id="as">
<input type="image" src="images/num2.png" id="ad">
<input type="image" src="images/num3.png" id="af">

I'm using Jquery to create a rollover effect on 2 images (placed on top of each other) to fade the bottom image in on a mouseover and out on a mouse out. Clicking the faded in image also opens a fancybox gallery. The problem is that sometimes the animation (the fade in and out) gets stuck after closing the fancybox window and the mouseover doesn't work anymore.
Here's my code for the mouseover:

I have a question, I'm developing my own LightBox with jQuery, and I call 2 function, animate and fadeIn and both of them work with the same element, fadeIn also with 2 elements more, but this isn't problem. And fadeIn I call before animate and here is the issue, it starts animate this element by fadeIn and after it is done, start function animate. But in second part, I call it again, and the element, which I animate in both of them, can't animate by fadeIn because he is visible, so immediately start function animate.

I have been trying to get better at my javascript as of late and there is this one particular color fading technique I have found that I am having trouble dissecting. The following code appears to be how they are making a rollover go from a dark gray to a subtle light gray with a nice fade but I can't exactly tell whats going on from the code. Is it just telling it to add a rgb point in so many seconds?
colorInit=
true}b.elem.style[a]="rgb("+Math.max(Math.min(parseInt(b.pos*(b.end[0]-b.start[0])+b.start[0],0),255),0)+","+Math.max(Math.min(parseInt(b.pos*(b.end[1]-b.start[1])+b.start[1],10),255),0)+","+Math.max(Math.min(parseInt(b.pos*(b.end[2]-b.start[2])+b.start[2],0),255),0)+")"}});

I created an accordion menu with rollover sub menus. My question is there a way to stop the rollover effect in the sub menus until the accordion animation is finished? When I click on a category link on the accordion the sub menu links flashes until the animation is done.

I have a function that does some calculations and populates some text fields with the results. I also have a function that changes the font color of the numbers to red if they are less than zero. What I dont have is a way to make them work together. I imagine I need to pass the results of the calculation function to the change color function, but not sure how to go about doing that. Here is the calculation function:
function to calculate the total costs, gain/loss and return percent.

I have navigation buttons that I'll call primary buttons. I also have secondary navigation buttons that I'll call secondary buttons. If you rollover a primary navigation button, it should make secondary navigation buttons 1,4,and 5 go to rollover state A. However, if you rollover secondary navigation button 1,4 or 5 they should go to rollover state B.So the simplest way I can explain it is that the secondary navigation buttons need two rollover states possible.

Before, I had an iframe, and when I moused over a link outside the iframe, it would load a page into the iframe. Background image was part of the page loaded, as well as the text and what not. The problem was, the image took too long to load. I've been learning how to do javascript and I came across some code for preloading an image before the mouseover so there was zero wait time. For the past few days I've been trying to figure out how to have the preload image appear BENEATH the iframe (now with no background image or color) with the allowtransparency attribute set to true.
I've figured out the code to do both individually, i.e. I have the code so that when the link is moused over, the new image will appear; AND I have the code so that when the link is moused over, the page with load into the iframe. Both work, both do what is expected, but they don't do it together.Below is the script. Here's where it's confusing. If I have the "setupImgRollover..." first inside the if statement: the page loads into the iframe, but there is no image. If I have the "setupImgRollover..." after the "document.link..." commands in the if statement: the image appears but the page does not load into the iframe.
HTML Code:
window.onload = rolloverInit;
function rolloverInit() {
for (var i=0; i<document.links.length; i++) {
var linkObj = document.links[i];
[code]....

I'm trying to convert an on load event into a function. I think this should be really simple, but I'm new to Javascript. The following works fine as the page loads
var favorite = GetCookie('DemoName');
if (favorite > Ƈ')
{
window.location.href = 'page2.htm'
}
else
{
alert('You must complete the lesson before proceeding');
}
I have tried to make it into a function by adding function CookieRedirect() {
at the top and a closing
} at the end, and calling it using a form button in the body:
<INPUT TYPE="button" VALUE="Redirect" onClick="CookieRedirect ()">-
but no luck.

Code:
If I use the return keyword to exit the function/loop after they set up the first image rollover, it works perfectly on the first image. However, if I comment out the keyword, theId, which is the variable that contains the id of each respective image (which is the same id of the containing link with "1" added to the end) becomes "undefined" (as my JavaScript console says), and thus none of the images work as they're supposed to work. Not even the first one.

I'm really just playing around, trying to be as unobtrusive as possible, meaning that I didn't want to just do the standard on mouseover/onmouseout event actions inline in my html. My attempt was relatively close, I just need a way to be able to capture the event action without passing it into a function?
Code:
<script>
var getTabs = function(){
var allTabs = document.getElementsByTagName("div");
for (var i=0;i<allTabs.length;i++){
if (allTabs[i].className == "tabs"){
if (allTabs[i].id == this.id){
if (this.onmouseover != null){
//alert("MouseOVer");
document.getElementById(this.id).style.backgroundColor = "#465D77";
} else if (this.onmouseout != null) {
//alert("MouseOOut");
document.getElementById(this.id).style.backgroundColor = "#1a3757";
}}}}}
onload = function(){
document.getElementById("tabHR").onmouseover = getTabs;
document.getElementById("tabHR").onmouseout = getTabs;
}
</script>
HTML Code:
<!-- Begin Tabs Container -->
<div id="tabsContainer">
<div id="tabGlobal" class="tabsActive">
Home
</div>
<div id="tabHR" class="tabs">
HR Edit
</div>
<div id="tabReports" class="tabs">
Reporting
</div>
<div id="tabData" class="tabs">
Data
</div>
</div>
<!-- End Tabs Container -->

I've got a plugin which is structured as follows:
(function($) {
$.fn.MyFunction = function(o) {
// Here we have some parameters
return this.each(function() {
[Code].....
So what I'm looking for is how to reference MyExternalFunction from my html script. I've tried simply using MyExternalFunction(index) but I get function undefined.

After many trials and errors finding exactly what someone wanted I came up with the solution I wanted for an image rollover. The problem is I put all the code directly into the mouseover/mouseout function. I am not sure how to implement this into two separate Javascript functions to limit the amount of code I have to write. The reason I am not sure how to write the function is because the images are in classes and the results are going to be pulled from a sql query, so they can't have their own id. So, in a nutshell, I just would like some guidance on how to put the mouseover/mouseout code into a Javascript function. Here is my code markup.
<div id="content">
<div class="container">
<ul class="thumb">
<li><img src="images/car1.jpg" width="80px" height="60px" class="images" onmouseover="this.style.width='180px';this.style.height='180px';
[Code]....
