Could someone tell me how to make this site: http://webpages.charter.net/jelsinge...e/history.html compatible with those who use the Internet with JavaScript disabled? I really want to have the slideshow but is there a way I can have the site look good if someone disables JavaScript?v
I have a button and I want it to be disabled (not clickable) after 3 clicks. Also the button text must change at each click.
Example: Test (3) <- button with text -click- Test (2) <- button text changed -click- Test (1) <- button text changed -click- Test (0) <- button can't be clicked anymore (non active button now)
Since I changed hosts for my web site Ive had a few creases to iron out. I'm hoping this is the last one...
Basically on this page http://www.pauserefreshment.co.uk/go...arch_2010.html i had a really cool light box effect pulled from this site code...
Unfortunately it no longer works :-( Ive checked the file paths and cant see the problem. I'm totally foxed. The CSS and java script files look the same so I just cannot fathom why when you point over an image on this page http://www.pauserefreshment.co.uk/go...arch_2010.html the light box effect remains disabled.
1. I want to make form with 2 select filds that one of them will be disabled if in the first the use choose a specific option i wrote it in this way (but its not work) how I fix it?
[Code]...
2. I want that after u fill the form and press submit u will see a txtarea with all the options u selected (for confirm that you chose the right things) and then press submit agien and get all the things u saw in the txtarea to a Email.
I kinda stuck at this point on my php script, it has this javascript code and I stuck there:
Line 16: echo("<script language="JavaScript"> function openptc(tpge,pnme,w,h){ settings="width=" + w + ",height=" + h + ",scrollbars=yes,location=no,directories=no,status=1,menubar=no,toolbar=no,resizable=no"; window.open(tpge,pnme,settings); } //--> </script>");
Line 72: print "<td><a href="#" onClick="openptc('./paidtoclick.php?adid=$row[linkid]&action=start&".session_name()."=".session_id()."','PaidtoClickPage','640','480');"><b>Click Here To View</b></a><tr>";
I think those 2 lines actually are my problem. This code makes the site open in a new pop up window. how to make it open in a new tab.
The problem is that I wanted to do a web page where you can choose the characteristics that you expect your dog to have and on the next page the pictures of the dog should be shown. I did a questionnaire where the visitor can fill in the attributes of his dream dog. This is done in a selection field. The different values should bring the dog breed that can be taken into consideration. Additionally there should be a box to tick if something is absolutely necessary.
I made the site for this as well, but I don’t really know how to work the part out. I hope someone can give me hint.
This is the part with the function. I only took one as an example:
i have to make a simple site for my sister and i am kind of a newbie at the whole web development thing am pretty ok with html tho. wo i was trying to make a slide show on the front page of the site, so i got a little help from a site called java script city,
var my_imgs_off = new Array(); var my_imgs_on = new Array(); /* Set "Off" image URLs */
I remember a while back there was an article published on here explaining how to make the pop up footer that appears on the site with an advert for a book in it.
I want to use an image map for something unique. The image would have about 10 to 15 (religious) symbols. When the user clicks on a particular symbol it will search the site for a few strings relating to that symbol. For example: Symbol 1 would be a cross when clicked it search the site for "christ, crucifix, christianity". I am sure I can make the image map but how do I make the image map call a function instead of a link.
I need to compare these array items to my site div id's and make an onblur functionality that changes the input field value.
It does not change the selected input field value(this.value). And it only alerts when blurring from the input field that is first in the array(id1). If i click to the input field id="id2" it does not alarm?
I have this code here that reads in a javascript file and increases or decreases font by its relative size (same thing as View, Text Size, Large, small, etc.) I am developing this for Transport Canada and I need some help. Here is my code. I need it to be compatible with IE, Mozilla, Netscape and Opera. Most versions of these browsers has to be compatible. If you could help me out the least bit would greatful. Here's the code:
this is more like a business question than a programming question. I see how lots of people here say that you should do a non-javascript version of your site first, and then start to put in the AJAX and javascript bells and whistles. This way it still works if someone has got javascript disabled.
But if you think about that in a real world situation, you only have so much time to spend at a project to complete it. I would rather spend it all on featuers that people will actuall use than on something that 95% of the people will never use, simply so i can be "compatible" which will not make me money.
Think about this, it will take up at least 40% of the total time you spend at your project to make it non-javascript compatible. Personally I have some forms which ask for a category name and a button to add it, and if you click it, the category is added on the fly with javascript.
If I was to make this non-js comatible, I would have to have the form submitted when the click the button, which is fine, except everything else they wrote in the form before they clicked that button would be lost and it'll be an extra headache to keep track of that. Very boring and hardly profitable.
I have a .js file that needs to be updated and am not familiar with javascript files (or if the .js file is even the problem). The problem occurs when users browse our site (www dot parasec dot com) using firefox as their browser. When they go to the top menu, the drop-downs appear to the far left of the window.
I downloaded and installed Securimage's Captcha code, and then my jQuery slideshow (by Jon Raasch) stopped working. I'm new to jQuery and am really a javascript noob to begin with, so I don't know where to begin. I looked at slideshow.js and prototype-1.6.0.2,js to try to find some conflict and I can't find anything obvious. I know that the Captcha code is the problem because when I comment out the <script>, the slideshow starts working again. he site I'm working on is here: [URL]
I have a marquee tag on my page that slides in some text from right to left once and the stops and remains on the screen. Have a look at the website although it is still being worked on [URL] As you can see it works just fine in IE but goes nuts in firefox. Any javascript to replace the marquee tag so it works exactly the same and is also cross browser compatible.
I'm using Keith Wood's datepicker jQuery plugin v.4.0.2 (not the jQuery UI datepicker) with jQuery 1.4.2, and I want to use the jQuery UI Cupertino theme v.1.8.2.
I reproduced the example on this page [URL]... under the Layout/Style tab. The inline example worked, but the popup example failed.
I tried many permutations and combinations of loading .js and .css files, none of which worked. Would someone please point out the error of my ways? Code snippet and screenshots below.
This drag/drop code will work in IE and FF, and most likely Opera too...
All you have to do is insert the following code in between the <head></head> tags and set any element's class attribute that you'd like to render draggable to "dragdrop".
i want to make a iframe page that loading a page from other site. I have try "jQuery iFrame Sizing" to set auto height in iframe... but it is failed.
This is my code : ------------- on Head <script type="text/javascript" src="js/jquery.js"></script> <script type="text/javascript" src="js/iframe.js"></script> on Body
JQuery newbie question re using validation plugin with Django newform.I have a simple email feedback contact django form that I wanted toenhance with some JQuery validation. I created a standalone (NonDjango) version of the form and it works correctly. However when I create a Django version of the form the validationrules seems to be ignored and the form is always posted - I wouldexpect the form to fail, and never post. One difference (not sure ifit's siignificant) is that the Django forms are created from classes/templates and render as tables. However the exact same HTML code worksfor the basic form.I'm now thinking that there must be something different re how thesubmit is being processed for the Django form - but I'm stumped.
I am using the following code to make a sortable table on my website. I got the code from [URL] (I admit it is not my code but it suits my needs well). Since I know most people do not what to click on links to random sites, this is the code I am using :
HTML Code: <HEAD> <script LANGUAGE="Javascript"> <!-- This script and many more are available free online at --> <!-- The Javascript Source!! [URL] --> <!-- Begin function setDataType(cValue) { // THIS FUNCTION CONVERTS DATES AND NUMBERS FOR PROPER ARRAY // SORTING WHEN IN THE SORT FUNCTION var isDate = new Date(cValue); if (isDate == "NaN") { if (isNaN(cValue)) { // THE VALUE IS A STRING, MAKE ALL CHARACTERS IN // STRING UPPER CASE TO ASSURE PROPER A-Z SORT cValue = cValue.toUpperCase(); return cValue; } .....
For some reason the code only works for IE, is there an easy way to get this code to work for other browsers such as Firefox or safari?
I'm looking for the best cross browser compatible swipe script for android, iphone and other touch phones. Has anyone used any of the available frameworks or have you used custom scripts? [code]...
Are there any good web UI component libraries -open source or commercial - that you can recomment? They need to be cross browser compatible and have good documentation. Jquery UI is very good but limited in number of controls it offers. YUI is very verbose and very hard to use. extJs only other one I can think of. Any others you use and like?
this may be more of an "html" issue, but I'll wing it.
i've got a multi-language site, where the home-page of each language group features a link to a popup window that offers background info on site management. the popup is fired by a javascript function, when they click the site management link. there's also a "window close" function button so they can nuke it as they please.
now, oddly, people who search for my site in the chinese language on google, are sent directly to the site management popup window, which of course, opens in their "full" browser window, and which also has no links back to the main site, because it's meant to open only as an "accessory" to the main site.
my question is this: is there any way, with Javascript, that I could determine if they arrived at this window from "off-site" (ie, a google search), and therefore offer such "off-site" visitors a link back to the principal site, a link that would be hidden for visitors who clicked the popup window from my own site?
Basically, I registered for a free board at one of the various sites because my server doesn't support .cgi scripts. I want to know if there is a way to have the data from a form on my site post to the board site -A user would fill in my form, click submit, and a new post would appear on the board site -as if they had entered it there. If you can point me in the right direction, I would be grateful. Here is my thinking.
A) I can't locate the script that they use to perform a "submit"; so I thought I might enter their <head> data (as far as xmlns, href, etc) in my <head>; that my website might call up their script files, css sheets, etc.
B)I could code my own Javascript function to send my form data to their site. If I knew how to simulate a mouseclick on someone else's site, I could have the script "click" there, paste the data, and hit the submit button. But I don't.
C) I could size their site down to the form itself and put it in a frame on my page
Option C is clearly easier, but I would prefer option A or B. I have time and will happily do the research myself; provided that I know if approach A or B is even feasible.
