MS Access To XML Search And Display

I am trying to set up this Javascript to work with my XML exported from Microsoft Access for support on an Intranet page. I borrowed from a tutorial code but I cant seem to figure out how to get the Javascript to recognize my values in the xml file. I believe my issue is related to the formatting of the xml file.
The example is formatted like:
While my access file exports a little messy... Sadly, unless this can be changed.. I would love to just enter the code myself for each entry.. but I need it to be exportable and immediately updated to the Javascript search. Access exports like this.
How I can get Javascript to recognize the values without a CDdata tag?

I am currently trying to create a live search box that as I type it will start displaying results that match.but it retrieves its data from an XML file, I need mine to retrieve from a column called FirstName within a table of an Access database.

This is a follow up to my older thread, about tables and finding images within them. So after getting some help from "Krupski" :thumbsup: I found myself stuck again. I'm trying to go at this rather from an other point of view, instead of getting the cell information I am now trying to get the alt text value. from within the image tag. but being a novice at this well ive hit a wall. :confused: My code so far. searches though the table finding the sad images then i want it to display the Alt-text or an other value table_id or similar. also is there a fast way of putting in Alt text like A1,2,3 B1,2,3 etc like an automated loop. (might work on this after the main problem is dealt with)

I wanted to do a search addressbook and display the results without refreshing the page. I am told that it can be made using jQuery. I have a fairly good understanding of php and my data is stored in mysql. Its woking should me some what: User enters an employee id. As he leaves the textbox, details of the employee are to be filled in the relevant text boxes.

I have a project to do for a kind of business directory and while I already have it designed I'm stuck on one aspect of it. As it stands, you select a category and then get the results in a nice little invisible table with colored rows. Now, I can create any table I want through the use of a hidden Javascript function that contains the information (No, I'm not worried about updates) and then creates the table.
The problem I have is this. If someone changes the category or puts in a partial name or full name, how can I delete the currently displayed results and then show only the results for the new search? And how can I do this consistently? The problem I have almost sounds like a problem that should be solved using PHP but it doesn't sound so complicated that it couldn't be done in javascript either.

outputting the results from a javascript search function onto a new page. Right now I am using a javascript search script on 7 pages and it works but the results overwrite the current page that the search was initiated from. I would like it to open a new page and print out into a specific area. Im not really proficient in js, tho I know enough to get by. since ive been grinding my gears at work trying to get this to display right. I'll post the code tomorrow morning when I get to work so you can see the function.

My requirement: Each time a visitor arrives at a specific webpage i want the main image on the page to be different, or more specifically, one of 6 images which will be shown in rotation. Solution: Set a cookie. Each time the visitor access the page read the cookie and display the corresponding image. Then increment the value and rewrite the cookie, so that next time they'll see the next image in sequence. NB: if the cookie does not exist (first timer) or is at 6, then the value is set to zero (and then incremented).
Problem: Can't get my coding to work. Specifically it just doesn't do anything - no error message, no cookie written. I'm a very novice scripter, as in I've cobbled the coding together from bits off the net that i think i've managed to grasp some kind of an understanding of. Very suck it and see - so far lots of sucking and no seeing!

I have a search field on the website, and when I type a word to search, it search good, but after preforming the search, the search term from search text field disappears and become the default 'Search' word.
How can I make search term stay in search field after preforming a search ? For example, when I type into the search field 'JavaScript' I want that term to stay in search field and after the search is done.

I am trying to display a webpage from another domain and tried to access its elements and I am facing issues with this.
I tried using "iframes" and am facing cross domain issues.
All that I want to do is, set and get the attributes of the elements of the webpage from the other domain (eg: set text field value, get dropdown box values, click button etc)
Is there a way to get this job done?
I thought of browser addons however it will be a browser specific solution.

I have created a similar smart search like yellowpages:[URL]... Here is the problem I have with mine:
Lets say I search 'Attorneys' I start typing 'Att' ... then 'Attorneys' shows up in the smart search so I click on it and press enter. The next time I start typing 'Att' my browsers saved search field pops up over the websites smart search. Here is an image which might help explain the problem a bit more:

I have chosen to use Google Custom Search with my website and was given the following code, my question is, how can i pass a search query from my homepage which has a standard form on there to the search page which holds this code?

I have a website that I'm designing where I have the need to search multiple sites at specific times. By this I mean that In some cases, we would want to search only the internet using google, or only search the site that I've created (which currently uses the jse_search.js solution), or only our company's website.
I currently have four different search boxes that will search either the internet, the internal site, a separate internal site, or a third-party website, which all working fine. The problem is that the search boxes take up quite a bit of space, and the layout is becoming cumbersome. Is there a way in Javascript I could use a single search box and a drop-down list to select which method to use? The code I'm currently using is below. With the exception of the Google search function, I've modified some of the site names to general site names and paths to preserve the company's anonymity:

I have a page built in Sharepoint. I need to create a little search box within that page so people can search for names on that same page. It's a page with a lot of text, hence why the search feature is needed.

I have an onclick that triggers ajax which calls a php script to pull data from MySQL. This information is then displayed in a div. The problem I am having is that sometimes pulling the data from MySQL takes 2-3 seconds, so the div is empty for about 2-3 seconds. How would I go about adding an animated "Loading" gif to display in the div while it is waiting to display the content?

I have an idea for a cute (and funny) way to get people interested in my site that has a weird name.
