Looping Through Divs Inside A Master Div To Create Animation?
Feb 16, 2009
I have around thirty divs inside a master div. These divs contain each one a dot image of a dotted line. I want to create an animation with this dots so each one will set its opacity from 0 to 1 a tenth of a second one after the other. I know this should be very simple to do with a loop but I don't know how to loop through the divs inside a master div.I have a few lines of code from jquery to set opacity but other than that I dont know how to do what I want.
I find I often have to change links in templates. I work for someone who is always wanting to alter their links. Is it possible to create a global template, or "master document" to link to as you would in a style sheet? This is what I want to do: Have 1 document that contains links. When I make changes to this document, all links on all pages would change also.
I'm having an issue with looping a set of divs that are positioned on top of each other. When a link is clicked, the second div should fade in as the top div fades out, which coincides with another div changing background colour.As you'll notice, when the link is clicked for a third time, it loops back to the beginning by using the rel tag to keep track of what div is showing. The problem is that when it loops to the beginning the animation is not in sync with the second div changing colour.The code for all three is exactly the same and it doesn't matter how many coloured divs you have, it's always the last one fading out that causes the issue. The '#second' colour change fires after the box changes, not synchronised like the previous clicks.This is a basic example that I'm using on a site elsewhere so the concept of the second div fading in and then the first fading out is important - I can't switch so the first fades out then the second fades in.
in my code below I am using inlinecontent from thickbox thickbox/) which works but inside the <div id="myOnPageContent"> only shows the first Category Name and doesn't loop through but it is looping outside as it shows a different Category Name at teh top of my inline content
<script type="text/javascript" src="sylvester.js"></script> <script type="text/javascript"> var M = $M([ <?php
[Code].....
I need to build a 100x100 array. I'm using the sylvester plug-in to make a matrix. The code executes fine and when i go view source from the browser the 100 rows and columns are defined just fine. I think that the document is first loaded then the php loops are executed on the server. Is there any way i can load a multi-dimensional array with PHP. I must do it that way, cause later i'll need to query the databases in the loops above.
I'm just starting with jQuery. And I need to create a simple div container, which will hold a number of children (added dinamically via a callback). So I want to keep stacking them, as far as a maximum number, after that I would like to "explode" the top one.
This is what I tried (and failed), any ideas on how toachievethat?
What I want to do is have 5 <div>s displayed in a fixed position on my page. The divs will contain text and pictures. Only one div is displayed at a time, and every 5 seconds, the next div slides over the top of the current div (from right to left) until it is completely obscured. At the conclusion of the fifth, it starts again with number 1.
I have seen this question asked several times while searching the internet and all the answers seem to be workarounds. Is there a way to do an animation forever with jQuery? All I get are recursion errors; not on my code but on jQuery. Line 580 of jquery-1.4.2.js
So this is what I am doing. I have a complex function for smooth extremely slow animation (clouds in the sky) my function moves an object one pixel at a time. If I take out all recursion, the clouds move one pixel with no error. If I leave the recursion in then I get the recursion error. I am not posting my code first because every time this question is asked they focus on the code. I want to know how to do this regardless of my one scenario.
I am trying to get the height of a div that is inside 7 other divs. I noticed the height() method works with the first and second div, but it does not work after that.
Example : <div id="first"> <--------------------------- $("first").height(); works ![code]....
how to get the height of a div that is inside multiple other divs ?
Is there a way that I could get id values of input fields that are inside certain divs and these divs have same class. For example say I have this code (simplified):
I want to hide all divs inside a specific div. Fx. <div name="theDiv"> <div id="hidden">hidden div</div> </div> I would think it was: document.getElementsByName('theDiv').getElementsByTag('div').style.visibility="visible"; But that doesn't work?
I have a master external CSS file for the styling of my website's pages.
I also want to incorporate a master javascript menu file that houses the left hand vertical menu bar for all my pages so that I can make changes to the menu in one location and have it instantly reflected across all pages.
Currently my menu is all standard html like the following:
This HTML is on every single page that has a menu and I want to move it to a master file where it is linked to each page - I don't want to use Server Side includes - this must be on the client side.
I was also thinking of putting the file in a jquery file and using $.get(). I'm not sure how the menu code would look in javascript or jquery - I am new to both.
I have been playing with a bit of code I found of the web and it works well, it basicly allows me to create pages and navigate between them all done via JQuery. The one question I have is, how hard is it to add some simple animation to it, such as fadein which if I have read correctly is built into JQuery?
I'm using Jquery to create a rollover effect on 2 images (placed on top of each other) to fade the bottom image in on a mouseover and out on a mouse out. Clicking the faded in image also opens a fancybox gallery. The problem is that sometimes the animation (the fade in and out) gets stuck after closing the fancybox window and the mouseover doesn't work anymore.
I'm pretty new to JavaScript and I've been searching for a way to toggle the visibility of many divs with images inside. Basically I want to have nothing visible, then I have three links that represent three categories of the images. So for example if the user clicks the link "Illustration" I want all the divs with the class illustration to appear. But when the user chooses a new link say, "typography" I want to hide the divs with class illustration and then show the divs with class typography.
I've been wondering lately: is it possible to create an array of some html tags (let's say array of <div> or array of <p>)? Something which would allow me adding a new <div> or <p> to the array.
I am to make a small html webpage in which there are supposed to be 2 text areas: in the first are certain words (for example tomorrow, money etc.), and in the second one there is an input text (let's say "Tomorrow you must send me the money I need"). Javascript should do this: print the input text in a paragraph/div, highlighting the words mentioned above. Something like: Tomorrow you must send me the money I need. This is how I thought of the array of tags, which can at any time add a new word to the output paragraph, it's only to be chosen whether to highlight it or not.
I'm using three elements and jQuery to create a scrollable information element with a sliding animation (similar to this. I'm running into issues when resetting those three elements to prepare for the next prev/next animation, however. The issue is in my logic - jQuery's selectors will reverse themselves using the code I have.
Javascript Code: Original - javascript Code $('#name.current').removeClass('current').addClass('prev'); $('#name.next').removeClass('next').addClass('current'); $('#name.prev').removeClass('prev').addClass('next'); $('#name.current').removeClass('current').addClass('prev');$('#name.next').removeClass('next').addClass('current');$('#name.prev').removeClass('prev').addClass('next');
As you can see, the last step will always reverse the first step These elements do need to be reset in one way or another so that the information can be loaded appropriately (from an XML file). and then animated again.
I am trying to create a tell a friend script and add the ability for the users to send the email to more recipients than what is hard coded into the form. I have come up with this so far but is wont allow me to let the user 'show more email fields' a second time. I dont know how to write the javascript to allow this? When I tried duplicating the divs and adding a 'show more' link inside the first hidden div it just showed both sets when I clicked.
I found this useful script for setting equal column height for divs. But is doesn't account for the padding inside the divs. How to make it calculate the total height including the padding from the heighest column?
I've created a function that would hide and show paragraphs from a drop down list, that paragraph contains a link that will show a div containing a map of google. But when I switch to another State on the drop down list I'd like to have the original first paragraph that showed up to disappear. So far, I can only get the <div> that contains the map to disappear.a function that would hide the paragraph and the <div>? Again, Here's the code:
<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01//EN"> <html> <head>[code].....
I found code on this site for creating popup divs, and got one such popup working fine. Trouble is, I can't figure out how to create multiple popups. I've tried duplicating the CSS piece, calling it layer2, and referencing it from the link piece, but nothing happens. Do I need to create a new javascript file for each layer?
To synchronize the vertical scroll of the following "left" and "right" divs only when the beginning and end of each "blahN " div is reached inside the left div. Both divs have a finite height, which basically insures that the scroll bar will be present. The left div outputs text-based content from various database procedures while the right div outputs images corresponding to the text. The text is nothing more than pages from the website and as you can see inside the left div, each is encapsulated within a subsequent div with an incremental class (i.e.- "blah1", "blah2", and so forth.) When one scrolls through each "blah" content inside of the left div, I would like the right div to output the image that corresponds to the text (again, this data comes from the website through previous transactions.) Here's an example: John Doe comes to the website and starts reading the various pages listed inside the left div.
There might be 2 pages loaded inside the left div, or, there might be 20, but in any event, when he loads the entire page containing all this, the first page will be displayed along with the first pages' image. When he scrolls past this first entry (page) inside the left div, the corresponding image related to it inside the MySQL database is then output as well over in the right div and so on with every other "blahN " piece of content. Right now, the jQuery I'm using has synchronized both divs to scroll at the same time, regardless of specific waypoints that might be reached per-scrolling.
Here's the basic markup I'm using right now:
<div class="left"> <?php foreach($obj->field_page_objs as $k1=>$v1){
[code]....
few other websites and the responsiveness has been minimal-to-nonexistent. I'm sure this is because of both how I've explained the problem combined with the overall difficulty (or niche-ness) it introduces. In any event, I apologize beforehand if this carries over into this website.
how to create a DIV dynamically. Basicly, I have two labels, and depending on which one is clicked, I want some code to appear inside an existing DIV. Obviously, I will need to do this using javascript and the onClick event. To make things even more complicated, I also want some DIV's inside of the dynamically created DIV. So, the structure would be:
-Existing DIV --DIV created by label being clicked ---Another DIV ---Another DIV
I hope this doesn't confuse anyone. I have some code for the existing DIV.
