Using Random Image In Flash Card
Jul 23, 2005Description: I have created flash cards using html layers, jpegs, and
javascript. The way I designed it is, I have words and their
descriptions (meaning) as jpeg files. Each word and it's meaning are
on separate layers. I can go to the previous card, the next card, or
see the answer( Meaning). (This is my navigation.) Each link (previous
etc..)is a hot spot on every image. When I click on any hotspot I pass
the image name and layername, to show a particular image on a
particular layer.
Problem: What I want to do is:
1.) I want to put another hot spot or link on the site e.g.shuffle,
that would randomize the order of images and the associated layer.
2.) I would like to put the counter somewhere on the page which would
display the card number and total number of cards in the series e.g. 1
of 10.
Do you think these changes are possible with the way I created my
flash cards? If so, could anyone help me? If not, is there a better
way to create flash cards using javascript? Is there any tutorial that
would help me?

I suspect it has something to do with the "today" functions near the end, but being a complete novice, have no idea what to do to make it work every time I refresh.

JQuery :: Supersized Plugin - Banners Not Clickable
Sep 19, 2011I'm having a terrible time working with the JQuery plugin Supersized. I have everything work except the anchor tag for the sliding banners are not able to be clicked.
Instead of having the slideshow append to the body tag I had it append to a div tag. This is driving me bonkers as I can't figure out how to get this banner to be clickable. I look at it with Firebug and the HTML is rendered for the link yet I can't for the life of me make it clickable.
Selection - On Mouse Click - Banners Change Images
Jun 7, 2011I have made one banner that changes its images turn by turn with settimefunction(). I have used div and z-index to keep the layers up and down. I want only whenever any visitor clicks on the tab of the specified category because images and lower tabs are changing same time, it should stop the movement of that particular image. I am fighting more than 3 days.

And the last i am putting the javascript function that runs these images turn by turn. I am calling this function on body load. i did one experiment i called this function from tabs by sending variable i value but after 2 or 3 clicks it got the speed greater and greater.

Prevent Repeating In A Random (Math.random) Array?
Aug 6, 2009I've looked for a solution to this issue, but it seems like a little different scenario than other situations. I made a system for generating friend requests on Facebook. I have a grid that is 6 x 3, for a total of 18 cells. Each cell has a picture in it, and the picture is linked to the Facebook friend request page. My problem is that since each cell is populated at random from the array, I'm getting lots of repeats. For example, some picutures are in 5 cells, and some are in none. I'm trying to figure out how to make it so that once a picture is used once in the grid, it does not get used again in the same grid.I still want every cell filled at random on each page load, I just want to prevent the repeating.

Nov 3, 2009FYI, I am using jQuery 1.2.3, and the latest version of the jQuery Form plugin from URL...I am able to run the ColdFusion page on the server side to get the data, and Firebug is showing that I'm getting a response...but I'm unable to populate the JSON data into selected form fields on the page.I have two HTML forms; one for the user to input his/her ID number if available, and a longer form to collect more demographic info.Why is it not working? JQuery :: Ajax Process A Textarea?
May 4, 2010I have a form with a textarea that can hold a lot of values. When submitted, a php-script takes over and processes the textarea line by line. When a lot of values is submitted, it can be time-consuming for the php-script, causing the webserver to timeout.
I would like jquery/ajax to send one or a few lines of the textarea to the php-script at a time, hence feeding the php-script with a lot of smaller requests instead of one massive one. Kind of like an upload form with a progress bar, but for textarea values instead of file submition.
I have looked around and failed to find any examples or tutorials on this, and since I'm not very experienced in javascript I would really need it.
So again, the javascript would check the textarea-field when user submits the form, and send one or five values from the field at a time to a remote php-script. In the meantime the user can be presented with a "loading..."-image or a progress bar.
