I have a bulk editable gridview. There are 15 editable columns (which sum to 100) in each row. The number of rows may vary, depending on what the user has selected. I want to find a way of keeping a running total up to 100 in each row when the user is entering values into the editable columns. I then want to save this data.
The running total column (Total) is a bound column and not editable by the user.
This looked helpful but I am still confused: [URL]
I am not sure what obj.tagName is...
A sample of my grid (first 3 editable columns) is below.
I am working on an exercise I found on a website. The problem is that my loops will not update the running total values in these functions I am keeping. I have having a hard time finding where the error is occuring
Code: <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd"> <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"> <head>
I have a multiple choice quiz in HTML. My requirement for scoring this quiz seems to be different from every other quiz I have seen on the net.
This is due mainly, I believe, to the fact that the number of questions involved in this quiz can be from 1 to infinite as the user action brings up the next question from external JS Q&A files.
In addition I want the user to see their score amended each time they answer a question, not at the end of the quiz (which theoretically may never happen).
In the existing code I already determine and provide "Correct" and "Incorrect" messages immediately following the selection of any of the four 'answer' radio buttons.
What I need to do now is to find out how I can arrange to:
1 count all the Correct answers - when they occur and add to a 'running' total (RT1)
2 count all the Incorrect answers - when they occur and add to a 'running' total (RT2)
3 calculate:- (RT1/(RT1 + RT2)) x (100/1) = percentage success rate so far.
The percentage success rate so far is to be shown in a text field for the user to see.
I'm just trying to find the best method of updating a running total of the value of list boxes. I basically have 6 items and I want a drop down box listing quantities. when a number is selected I want a total to update beneath. I'm not sure I can do this in PHP without reloading the page. Do i need to use Java script? if so I'm a total newbie can someone point me in the right direction?
I've got a script that reads a line of text from a file, and does a bit of parsing to that line into an array. Apparently, this can take some time, so I get the "Stop running this script?" message.From what I understand, I need to use the setTimeout call, but for the life of me can't understand it. When I do add it to some code, it seems to work, but doesn't "pause" the code as I expect it too...
function ReadFile(Fname) { var path = "y:\metrics\";
I am trying to add up some fields, it works but to get the total you have to click on the total box. Is there any way of getting it to total automatically i.e. when the user enter a quanity it will show the total straight away without having to click the total box.
Below is my code <html><head><title>Online Order</title></head> <body bgcolor=white onLoad="document.arith.total.value=eval(0);
I used the sum of check boxes script, altered it for radio buttons and it works... except for one little nit-picking thing.If a user changes their mind and chooses the other radio button in the set, the total does not reflect the actual total unless they click again on an already set radio button on the side they are using.Here's the JS:
Code: //Adds the sum of all radio buttons for the Home Team (Games Won) function UpdateCost() { var sum = 0;[code]......
How can I get this to reflect the actual games won if a user changes a radio button from home team to visiting team? I have a duplicate JS (UpdateCost2) and I have a matched pair of radio buttons for each game. Either you win (get 1) or lose (get 0).
I have a page that lists a bunch of golf clubs. They are ordered by catagory (drivers, woods, etc) When you click on a check box the javascript puts the price in a sub-total box. I need it to also add up the total for the page.Here's a link to the page:
http:[url]....Here is the javascript at the top:
Code: <script language=javascript> var a=<?php echo $row_recDrivers['cPrice']; ?>; //set driver value. var b=<?php echo $row_recWood['cPrice']; ?>; //set wood1 value.[code].....
I have a issue with a javascript code that I wrote. This script is a simply for calculating the summation of 2 text input boxes and printing it in another text input box within the form. The entire form is then sent using Form post.The total is written back to the form's total text input box using the code below:
document.getElementById ('total').value = total
This code works perfectly for displaying the values on screen. However, when I send the form (PHP Post), the " total " field is empty. I have searched all over for possible solutions. But no solution yet.
1. document.getElementById ('total').INNERHTML = total .This does not even work on screen and total field is not updated on screen. Needless to say, the PHP Post variable was also empty.
My requirement is to develop a simple form with checkboxes which when selected calculate a price based on the value assigned to the checkbox. The form and calculations is working great but i need a few final touches which i can't work out.
1. I want the total to be in plain text and not in a text box maybe just drop the total value in a DIV.
2. I want the form to start with a default value for example 200, i have tried adding a hidden checkbox with a value of 200 and setting it to checked as default but it doesnt display 200 in the total when i first load the page it only calculates it when i select the first box and i need it to be displayed as the total even if no options are selected.

I have a textbox in a column of a gridview. Onfocus of the textbox, css implements a background color change. Also, for the edges of the textbox (to be rounded - look nice) I have two divs surrounding my textbox. Onfocus I want these divs to be visible and onblur i want them to disappear. No matter which textbox in the column has the focus, the edges show up in the first textbox. they only consider the onfocus out if you click on a different column altogether. I am desperate! I've been on this for too long and pressure is mounting!

I need some help in jQuery code I am working on. I have an asp.net grid view that I can’t manipulate in the server so I need to do it on client side. The gridview has a file name in the first column. All the files I deal with are in a known single folder on the server
I set a blank column at the end of each row and I want to:
1. Take the file name from the first TD (appears as simple text) and change the file extension (from doc to flv)
2. Check if the file exist in the server
3. If exist, put it in the last (blank) TD after changing the file extension (from doc to flv)
4. If exist Wrap it with <A href=”filename.flv”>filename.flv</a> and make it clickable for the user to download
Here is where I need the help: First problem: I manage taking the file name from the first TD and put it in the last one (see code below) but the text appears as regular text and the link is not active
The Gridview ID is "SearchResultsGV" 1. jQuery(function() { 2. jQuery(".SearchResultsGV > tbody > tr:not(:has(table, th))") 3. .css("cursor", "pointer") 4. .click(function(e) {
I have a ASP.NET gridview which is rendered as a HTML table. There are 2 columns in the grid. First column is a checkbox and second column is a input textbox in which the user will enter a amount. I want to be able to loop through the rows of the table using jquery to find out the rows that have a checked checkbox and then sum the value in the corresponding textbox in which the user will enter a amount. In other words how do I loop through the table and find out the elements on the same row on the table.
User enters integer values into an editable gridview. JS is meant to keep a running total in the gridview footer template while user enters the values. User clicks 'Save' button. The values are saved to database table.
Problems:
1. JS does not keep a running total if there is already values saved in a database table. (Explaination: If user clicks 'select all', the previously added values are loaded. Can edit these and running total works. But, if user is entering numbers for the first time into a blank editable gridview, the js does not work).
2. Cannot access label in gridview footer template. 'Object reference not set to an instance of an object'. If label is placed in normal gridview row, it is fine. However, it needs to be in the footer.
javascript function
Meant to be in footer template but placed in normal row for now:
To get the row number in gridview when mouse is over the row. I need to pass the value to a control on an aspx page.
Does anybody know if it is possible with Javascript to get the actual cell data from the cell under the mouse in a gridview. The data i need is always in then first column ( column[0] ).
I have a gridview in a form that contains a Save ImageButton. I would like to create a Client-side CustomValidator that checks whether the grid is empty or not. If it is empty then I would like to throw an error message to the user. This is my code. In the "Save_btn_Click" event, I check if the page is Valid:
