Jquery :: Control The Function Between The Outer And Inner Fuction?
Jun 26, 2009
I cant control the function between the outer and inner fuction. as I use a top.out1() in the children object. I cannot call the function run
within the $(document).ready(function() { function inner1(){alert("alertinner")}}
the question is:
1.How can I call the function inner() directly by the object children svg page?
2.How can I call the function inner() by the function outer1()?
3.How can I call the function outer2() by the function inner()?
<script type="text/javascript">
function outer1(){
alert("outer1alert");
}
I want to avoid the inner DIV to expand the outer DIV when I hover over the outer DIV and fadeIn the inner DIV. How can I hover over the outer DIV and show the inner DIV without the height of the outer DIV expanding?
My preview.php file which uses a watermark plugin is not loading correctly in IE 9, when I click the load button. It works well with other browsers. I have a posthttp2.php file
</div><div>I've got a problem with IE6 and I need to basically find the width of the "header" DIV and make the "secondLevel" DIV match it. So, I guess I need to target IE6 specifically in the code. Here's what I have:
i used to use the jquery.bublepopup.v2.3.1.min.js to build my buble popus in different forms. Now it is getting lit bit complicated as i want to call one bublepopup in one of my dynamic textboxes..and i am stack there. in general when using form , i include the jquery script . on the header of the page and just call what i want in a DIV or textfield class i.e<input id="text1" class="jquerypopupfunction">
inthe dynamic side, i know how to call a class in javascript dynamic mode. i tried to do the same as above but it did not work
I have to create a dynamic html block that can hide and show text, anchor tag is used to hide/show the block, which is also dynamically generated, so I have to call anchor's tag click event using live function, but within that click event I have to look up for immediate next div control which will hide/show. my code is somewhat like below I am comment the line of code which is not working
$("a").live("click", function(e) { var $nextElement = $(this).next("div");//div control is not found here, it is also dynamically generated. ($(this).html() == "[-]") ? $(this).html("[+]") : $(this).html("[-]");
This is a very basic version of what I am trying to do. I have a dynamic list which is set in a table. When clicked, a function is run to set up a new list.. The reason I explain that, is that I need to keep it dynamic.Now for the problem:When I run this page, I have the button made right away, then when clicked it creates the new button. The new button should also run the function to create the new button again, but when I click it, I only receive "error on page".
How do i make it so that when there is an event insidean iframe on the page, it affects and can call a function from the outerpage? (that houses the iframe
Having a tough time integrating the 2. Trying to create 2 loops, the inner one I had working as below, until I tried to add the outer loop which iterates through the tables
<script type="text/javascript"> // <![CDATA[ var i=0;
I have an array for of input names. Input1 , input 2 etc. Can I pass the input names in a loop like document.all[input].value="xxxx"
The problem is document.all cannot be used in Safari/firefox, I tried using document.getElementById but my inputs do have any IDs. is there any way of accomplishing thsse.?
I'm trying to build a cascading menu in javascript I got as far as this ; all I want to do is Re-draw the whole page when the link is clicked however I get an object required message the second time the link is clicked (I,m using IE 5) Code:
I adapted Bresenham line drawing algorithm to draw a dashed line. I want to count the number of dashes. The dashes extend from one city on a map to another city. I don't want the dashes to obscure the city marker which is a small black dot, so I added some logic to skip dashes at the start of the line and at the end of the line. But this logic is confounding my attempt to count the dashes and I haven't been able to figure out why. The function should return the number of dashes as 'count'.
How can I make the button call the click event so that the server side method btnExecute_Click() can be called? Also, this button calls a javascript function before server side even.
Categories and names are both properties of one and the same array element. I have the following compare function to sort the outer categories.
function compareCats(a, b) { a = a.category; b = b.category; if(a == b) return 0; else if(a b) return 1; else return -1; }
This is working fine. But I really would like to include the inner names in the compare function without changing the structure of the array - if it could be possible. If not - what would be an efficient way to solve the problem?
I am using javascript to find the browser window's innerheight and outerheight(ie both document body + task bar ,statusbar,menubar etc)I am using the following command for the calculation of the above thing
This one works perfectly for the following browser's GoogleChrome,Safari,Firefox with small problem on Firefox
Following is the problem
The window.outerheight and window.innerHeight returns different values:
a)when the script is run locally on the same browser
b)when the script is run after publishing the page on the server and ran from the same browser.
This issues do not come for other browser except firefox.For other browser the outerheight and innerheight comes same, before and after the script is published on the server.
The firefox browser version used is : firfox 3.6.16. Os is Windows Xp
I am using "document.getElementById('dfDataBase').focus();" this function to put focus in the particulate text field control.The cursor is showing in the control, but i am not able to type any data, after clicking in the control then only i am able to type the data.
How to get outerhtml for document.body for different browsers.
I am passing document.body to the method mentioned in the code below:
Code:
function getOuterHTML(object) { try{ var element;
[Code]....
In firefox and chrome, I get only the HTML markup; but the data that is part of the controls of the input object is not getting populated.Whereas, in IE it works.
I work mostly in PHP, with just a bit of JavaScript when necessary. I've inherited an app that among other things, uploads files to the server. When the user clicks the "Save" button, it targets an invisible iframe and actions the php upload script -- that is:
The outer, top level window has the icons for the files uploaded so far, and the total number.
The upload works fine, but the icons & total count don't get updated in the outer window unless I manually click refresh on the browser. Naturally, I'd like the new number and icon list to appear automatically after an upload, so I tried putting both:
window.location.reload(); and parent.location.reload();
at the end of the doupload.php script within the iframe (appropriately encapsulated in <script> </script>).
Both of which work, sort of, but they apparently repost the data to the iframe, which causes the upload to be re-executed, which then causes the reload to happen again, for an endless loop.
If I manually refresh the browser page from the firefox toolbar, this doesn't happen; it just refreshes and shows the new total number & appropriate icons.
So obviously I'm out of my depth here with the javascript and dom structure. I want to refresh the top window without reposting to the iframe.
I'm about to upload a site that uses the following script to dish out stylesheets and redirect old browsers. I hacked a couple different scripts together, and think it works, but i dont have an old version of ie to test on. Code:
Is there some way in a <form> tag to transfer control to a JavaScript function after completion of the submit, where the <form> and function are on the same page? I believe ONSUBMIT and similar event handlers can be used to transfer control to a function just before the submit is completed.
But, I'm looking for a way to transfer control afterwards.
Situation:I have a very long page divided into many sections vertical-wise marked by bookmarks, say pageX.html#s1 to s10. I need to show the section inside an iframe (iFrame1) on the mainpage (mainpage.html). I am thinking of having 4 buttons, sitting on the mainpage, to help navigate between these sections on pageX, namely NEXT, PREVIOUS, TOP, END.condition of the frame, fixed width/height, no scroll, no border.Very new to javascript but need this code to make a page work for BIZ.
I'm building a webpage using javascript and iframes. Basically I have an iframe in the middle of the index.html page that links to another html page (let's call it iframe.html). My question is, is it possible to call a javascript function from iframe.html to control an object on index.html? If so, how do I do this? I'd like to be able to assign an image in iframe.html with the hyperlink of href="javascript:function()", where the function effects the CSS of a div on index.html.
