JS Dynamic Mouse Over Image Magnification
Jun 8, 2009
When you mouse over the image, it shows a magnified section of the image next to it. I've been trying to reverse engineer it but so far no joy, I'm not getting the image to the left to appear.

The script below magnifies a small portion of a larger image in a separate box. Is there any way I can add to the code to alter the area and level of magnification shown from the original image onto the new box?
Code:
<script type="text/javascript">
function DoMagnify(sender, e)
{
var posx = 0;
var posy = 0;
if (!e) var e = window.event;

I am in the process of developing a website. I would like to use some images. The image should zoom on mouse over and mouse click i.e the image should zoom to h:100*W:100 on mouse over and on mouse click it should be zoomed to h:1000*w:1000. Also I would like to change the mouse over image and mouse click image before zooming.

The latest version of Opera for some reason will open popup windows using the same magnification as the parent window. For example, if you've zoomed a page to 150%, popups from the page also open in 150% magnification. This may not seem like a problem but it is, because the javascript for popups must specify the size of the popup window. Therefore, if any magnification occurs the window that opens will be too small for the enclosed text or image. The simplest solution would be if I can install a javascript onto a page that will require it to open up in 100% (non-magnified) mode.

If I have designated a specific size dimension for a popup window to open with (as one must, otherwise why even use a pop-up window?) then it should be obvious that the window needs to open up at 100% (normal) magnification, otherwise the contents of the window will not be displayed properly.
It seems to me current browsers are struggling with this problem, as Firefox, Safari, and Opera all handle it differently. For example, Firefox applies magnification settings defined by the user to dimensions of the pop-up window but not to the contents (an odd solution!); Opera retains the correct dimensions but applies magnification to the contents. Only Safari handles it correctly: even if you have applied magnification to a web page it will still open pop-up windows at default 100% magnification and honor the dimensions specified in the HTML code by the page designer.

I want to set up an Include page in a cell of a table. Then I want to be able to change which page is included on the fly as the user moves the mouse of the various links on the page. How can I do this?
THe include page was set up via FrontPage so it put it's Bot stuff in there, but if someone could tell me the "standard" way to use an include page and if there's a way using onMouseover etc to then change that and refresh it on the fly, that'd be great.

The objective is to have an image fade to another one progressivly while the mouse is over, when its not it fades back to the original, whether or not it faded to the target completely or not. That is, if it takes 1 second to fade completely to the other image, and you take your mouse off it at 0.5 seconds, it will begin to fade back to the original. I have a problem where I want to give this ability to multiple images (thumbnails) on a page, without having reams and reams of code and instead just have one function accomadate any number of images.

I've been trying to have an image be placed during a mouse over or mouse click event. The closest to accomplishing this is having the image be replaced by the image I want to overlay.

I am still designing the website and want some flexibility. I am capturing the mouse clicks fine on top of an image, but the coordinates are absolute and not relative to the image. How can I capture mouse clicks relative to the image so that I can move the image anywhere in my website?

I would like to create a photo page using 'rollovers' however am
finding it increasingly hard to find any information.
I would like it to display around 10 thumbnails all leading to one big
picture so when you hover over the image with the mouse it displays the
picture in big.
I have searched the net, however have only found info on 'rollovers'
for one image.

get an image scroller by dragging of the mouse (like you have with Google maps for example).Right now I'm using a script that does the job perfectly fine under IE, but not so much under FireFox, and definitely not under Chrome.
Here's a hands-on example of what I mean (only works under IE): [URL]This is the script I'm using now:
Quote:
<!-- <script type="text/javascript">
document.onmousedown = function(){
