JQuery :: Update A Div Element On A Remote Webpage?

i have one task in which i have to update the information on DIV on one of the webpage which will run on another system which can be any client system. is it possible to update the information of the web page in real time so that if some client is watching the other web page at that time, he will see the latest content.
i dont want to create server side scripting and logic for this as this is very small content. anyone with some idea about this?
I am a newbie in web development. I need to create a function that works whenever user print a web page, I would like to get the date and record that date into database. Additionally, the function must work on IE & Firefox. There is onbeforeprint() event in JavaScript, but that only works in IE.
I have a form which calculates values and gives the user a total depending on their selection in the drop down box. At the moment the value is displayed in a text field and I have got all the javascript to do this.
What I would ideally want is to embed the total in the page, rather than a text field. The total appears to the user like it is normal text in a page, only it will update when the form values are changed.
I presume that I want document.write to do this? Does anyone know how I could do this/ or if there is a page that does this sort of thing where i can 'borrow' the code?
I have two input fields and I want the second updated every time I change a value in the first. I wrote this function but it doesn't work until the first element lost focus (for example I clic anywhere or press TAB button)
I need to make a change to a web page that has lots of JQuery things in it, it appears. Not knowing anything about the actual use of JQuery, however, while I will start looking at the doc, can someone help me with what to look for in a 4000+ line file to find out where the value is being set for the hidden field. I have been unable to identify this. There appears to be no onChange or onSubmit JavaScript call. I have been given this file with the need to figure this out right away, with a very tight timeline to make many changes, so this one item can't take the time required to start learning the whole of JQuery before I can make a change.
i have jquery code which highlights <p> elements with specific class. everything works ok but if i update elemet with content including tag <p>, highlighting doesnt work.

I'm using Javascript to create some dynamic content on my website. Basically it's looping through some values and updating an input field with the values.
What I'm wondering is, do I have to do this using a form and an input field? Is there a way I can get Javascript to update the content inside a DIV for example?
I have an idea for a little script.....I'm just stuck on one little part: When a user changes the value in a input or textarea box, I want it to change the value of a certain hidden input tag too.

It launches in IE and give the user instructions, then at the click of a button, launches my setup.exe. I want my webpage to launch setup.exe then go to another webpage on my CD, congratulations.html, which says "installation is complete etc". Here's what I am trying to do through JAvascript. It doesn't work. Should the first instruction be flushed in order for the 2nd one to work?

Now this all works and the result webpage URL prints to id='ID1', but the big question is how do I use this resulting URL in another Javascript section as the src="?
I am trying to display a webpage from another domain and tried to access its elements and I am facing issues with this.
I tried using "iframes" and am facing cross domain issues.
All that I want to do is, set and get the attributes of the elements of the webpage from the other domain (eg: set text field value, get dropdown box values, click button etc)

I am trying to use asp for remote validation instead of php. But it did not work. Basically i want to grab some data from the royal mail(UK) site, to use within a CMS, so the sales team can easily find the tracking info about a customers order.
Royal mail have recently allowed get requests which populates the track and trace form field and auto submits the page via a 302 redirect e.g. royalmail.com/portal/rm/track?trackNumber=x

So what i would like to do, if it is possible, is to use jquery to grab that page and possible grab a certain paragraph (in this case the first p of the class "track-right-box") so that the sales team don't have to go to the site every time they want to trace the order.
Now a figured i could use $.load or $.get in jquery to do this but firebug is throwing up the error: Access to restricted URI denied" code: "1012
Which i'm guessing is something to do with the security setting on firefox.
I am trying to read an XML file from a web source to display on my site. I can't get it to work ..GET seems to come up with an error - I tried crossDomain: true with no luck and have tried on a local and web server.
Could anyone know the script code for a WEBPAGE ON TOP OF A WEBPAGE? The site was not working anymore, so I can't tell you the link. This is what I saw, When I visited the site (Mainpage) There's just a Welcome Image that shows CLICK HERE TO ENTER. After clicking the link, a loading faded icon appears on top of Welcome Image covering that Welcome Image with Webpages, it's like popping to the center of the page. I don't know if someone of you could understand me. It's like Page on TOP of another Webpage without leaving the 1st page.
i have a menu generated by a list with nested lists. i want the parent link to stay highlighted when the mouse hovers over the sub menus. because those sub menus are also generated by jquery (qtip), CSS alone won't do it (triedul.topnav li:hover a {background-color: #F00;}).is there a way to do this using jquery?
I have 3 tabs that call an external ASP page that has a rather intensive Database query and takes a while to execute and display. On my tab there's a link to another page. once that page is finished the user goes back to the tab. But my problem is it's going back to the database page (that takes a while to execute).Can the original page be cached and remembered so that I dont have to keep calling my database page?
