I am trying to hide confidential data being submitted by a payment button. Now I am wondering how I could catch the according <form> element being created "on the fly" and submit it automatically ensuring that there is no chance for anybody to access the data.

the problem is, when I click the submit button of the form, the event is NOT triggered, nor is the form submit, and I do not understand why...
for now, I've found this workaround:

but I don't really like it, 'cause it seems so "dirty" to me...
why the form submit is broken and how to "repair" it?

I am hoping on click me I can show/hide the parent. I did

But because parent wasn't available so it seems the hide event wasn't able to bind to the parent.
I would like to add an event handler to the submit() method on the form. If the form contains an elemant recaptcha, it should show a recpatcha in a modal, and upon completing that recaptcha, assign the entered captcha to that element to be submitted long the form.
Basically, I would be able to attach the code that renders the modal and the recaptcha form in the .submit event handler.
I was just wondering; if we have multiple form.submit() handlers that we attach to the forms. in what order are they executed? and what if one of the handlers return false - will the others still be executed? What if we add the "preventDefault" call in any of these handlers?
Basically - I need to know how I can make sure that this handler I'm attaching to the form does not interfere with any other handlers that may have been attached to the forms submit event...
I was using jquery-1.2.6 and now, I started to use jquery-1.3.2, and I get my first "difference": when I use the wrapped set operation $ (':input[@name=submit]') with jquery-1.3.2 it returns all input fields, but if I use it with jquery-1.2.6 it returns 0 (as espected). Is it an error with 1.3.2 version?What do you think I'm doing wrong? This wrapped set is used by "jQuery Form Plugin" and, if I have file uploads I get the alert 'Error: Form elements must not be named "submit".' from the function "fileUpload" of this plugin.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a form which has a few submit buttons, all named SubmitButton so I can pass the clicked button's value through to the submission processor and then act according to which button is pressed. However on the jquery form submit even, I also want to check certain things before I fire the submission off. As the button isn't a "conventional" input I can't check the document object to see which one was clicked, so I need to check the form contents that are about to be submitted, can I do this from the submission event or will I have to bind to each button individually?

The form is loading fine, but for some reason the submit() is not getting attached to the form. Therefore when I submit it is running member.php from the form "action". Ultimately, I want to be able to run member.php from $.post() so that I can tell member.php that JavaScript is enabled.
I have this form that depending on the shift you choose certain form elements get grayed out. Here's the part that I don't understand. I validate the form in php and display the errors but the form re-enables everything that was grayed out. Not the behavior I was expecting. How would I go about this?I attached a copy of the HTML source created from php.

If I click the textarea the onfocus event is triggered but if I go straight to submit the form the onblur event is triggered and the form is not submitted unless i hit submit twice. How can I get the form to submit? Can I put an "if" statement in the onblur event to see if the form is being submitted then just submit the form otherwise run the onblur event?

I have this boiled down to the following code: [URL]. I have two text inputs in a form, and a keydown handler to catch the arrow keys. When the focus is lost on an input, it is supposed to call the submit handler on the form. When I use the tab key, it works as expected, and calls my submit handler. However, when I use the arrow keys, it submits the form and goes to the action url, not running the alert in my custom submit handler. It's as if it either loses the bound submit handler or it calls a new default one or something.

Has me a tad confused. I know that e is an event object that calls keydown event for keycode 64 but what I am unsure of is how it is being triggered. There is no context to it, if you use .trigger() that way is the event called upon the loading of the object? If not when is .trigger() being called?

When using FF 4 or CHROME 10, it seems to work fine in IE9. I have validated that the second function is pulling the proper elements when selecting the toFire variable, but the trigger just doesnt seem to fire. Value is always true or false, never undefined and the Click event that is being fired in the second function is the same that is being triggered in the first function.

So I have a basic REST call to Flickr's API. This is how I'm displaying the images.

Then I have this later on in the same file...
$(".thumbnail", this).bind("click", function(){

});
For some reason, it will not detect this selector. I've also tried $("#flickr > img") & $("img"). None of these selectors seem to trigger this event. I tested $("#flickr").bind()... and I got the expected result, so I am pretty certain it is the selector that is not working. I have done a basic "thumbnail / enlarge" model a number of times from hard coded image tags to ajax sources, but never from Flickr's API.
