I am trying to hide confidential data being submitted by a payment button. Now I am wondering how I could catch the according <form> element being created "on the fly" and submit it automatically ensuring that there is no chance for anybody to access the data.

We know that multiple calls to $(document).ready(); in the same page is possible.
I have a situation where another team implemented a $('#element').live('click', function() { /* Do this */} ); call on #element. I cannot modify this code, but I need to take an additional action on the same element on the same event. So, two actions will occur when #element is clicked.
I tried making $('#element').live('click', function() { /* Do that */} ); but this call does not fire.
It needs to be .live() since #element is being dynamically added.
Is there any way to add more actions to the same event on #element?

show/hide future element in the DOM. I have something like this where it will be triggered by a modal dialog (e.g. a facebox)
<div id="parent" style="display:none">
<a href="#" id="link">click me</a>
<div>
I am hoping on click me I can show/hide the parent. I did
$("a#link").live('click", function() {
$(this).parent().hide();
};
But because parent wasn't available so it seems the hide event wasn't able to bind to the parent.

I have a question that's probably basic javascript, but I can't find the answer.So if any of you can point me in the right direction?This is the problem:I want to loop through an array and in each iteration I want to bind a value from that array to a click event.I made a small example where I only bind the first iteration to a click event.
$(document).ready(function(){
var dummy=new Array();
dummy[0]=1;

New to javascript/jquery and have a question regarding scope. I want to bind an event within my class so it calls one of the class methods. The problem I run into is that the event handler is a anonymous function that runs outside the scope of the class, therefore it doesn't see the class methods or properties.
Is there a proper way to deal with this:
Sample code:
function myObject(tag) {
// properties
this.myvar = 'test';
this.tag = tag;
// methods
function sendRequest() {
alert(this.myvar);
}
// initialization
$(this.tag).click( function() {
this.sendRequest();
});}

I have developed a plugin for mutual selection on a list of elements.It works fine if I make those element into mutual list only once.
like $("appropriateSelector").toMutualSelect();
that plugin will add click event handler to each element and they remember the whole list by enclosure.
If I add new elements to that list. and do$("appropriateSelector").toMutualSelect(); again. New elements will behave as expected but old ones will have problems. Each old element will have the same handler bind multiple times to them. That will result like toggle two times andmessingup the outcome. How do I prevent this? I am trying to clean up their bound handlers but seems no luck.

it's possible to bind a function to an element that is fired if that element is 'moved'/repositioned via the browser.
For a more specific example what I have is a function that calculates height and width of certain elements to allow them to all fit nicely on the page without having scroll bars, and this is bound to the window onresize event. It works nicely most of the time but occasionally something will change the height of one of the elements and this effectively bumps one element right off the page.
So I'm wondering if its possible to have an event bound to an element that is fired when an elements position is moved/recalculated by the browser? Short of polling every second or so, to see if it has moved/recalculate layout.

I am not sure - I made ajax call through jquery form plugin, return response is HTML fragments, and inserted to a <div> place holder, work as expected.However, previous HTML segments have binding events (such as click) seems lost after the insertion ... is this expected behavior? and what are the proper way to re-instate those events?

I have a piece of javasacript code that searches through several iframes for buttons with specifi id's. When I find the button, I bind a click event to that button. This works perfectly fine in IE, but only works in Firefox if I alert something. After I click on the alert button ok, the click events are assigned correctly and the buttons work fine. See my code below for achieving this:
$.each(iframe, function(index, ifrm) {
// Add target="_blank" to text hyper links
var hyper = null, hyperCount = 0;

I am working on a script to allow the user to click on an image to turn table header locking on and off. Everything appears to work fine, with the exception of one quirk that is occurring when I run the test page in Internet Explorer (7, in this case). If you click on the icon once to turn on header locking, it works. If you then click the icon again, it turns off header locking, as it is supposed to. But after that, you can no longer click on the icon. It is as if it loses the event binding. I am not removing or in anyway creating a new instance of the icon (although I did try using live() instead of click() just to be safe). Also, if I run this same page in Firefox, I do not have this problem. You can see the example page and view the complete source at [URL]

in a table I want to have a specific click event (calling a function) for the first cell of each row and another function call e.g. for the third table cell.I assigned different class names to these cells and used this script:$("#tab_kat tr").find(".firstCell").bind("click", function() { ... });And the same for ".thirdCell".But is this possible without assigning class names to reduce the size of the code?Something like that:$("#tab_kat tr td.cells[1]").bind("click", function() { ... });

When I load my page I am using the .load() function to load a section of HTML from another .html file into the current page, as follows:
$(document).ready(function() {
$('#login_js').load('_HTMLCodeLibrary.html #loginform');
On the very next line I am attempting to bind a submit event handler to the form:
$('#loginform').submit(function() {
$.post('member.php', $(this).serialize(), function(data, status) {
data = eval('(' + data + ')');
if (data.msg) {
[Code].....
The form is loading fine, but for some reason the submit() is not getting attached to the form. Therefore when I submit it is running member.php from the form "action". Ultimately, I want to be able to run member.php from $.post() so that I can tell member.php that JavaScript is enabled.

I want to execute some code when a node is either selected or deselected but I only want specific nodes not the whole tree.
Normally, I think you bind an event when you create the tree like $ ('.sidecontent').bind(........).jstree(data.tree); but that's for the whole tree, which I don't want. I have a selector for the nodes I want like $('a[id*="room_1"]') but I don't know how to bind an event to those nodes only. Is this possible? If it is, then what event should I use?

I would like a function to be run whenever a variable is updated. I
have tried binding the onchange event to it, and it doesn't work. I
think I understand why, however, I would like to know if there is
anything that I can bind to my variable that will fire the specified
function whenever the value changes.
Is it possible to do this, or would I have to make a class for it?

I'm trying to build a Validation object, where you pass an object id and event name in the constructor. Then, you call an add_rule method to add validation rules. The constructor code looks something like:
function Validation(id, event, ...)
{
this.object = document.all[id];
this.event = event;
var obj = this.object;
obj[event] = this.validate;
}
So the actual validation function is dynamically bound to the appropriate event. The problem is that when the validate method is called, "this" no longer refers to the Validation object; it refers to the object to whose event it was bound. So, for instance, in the following code, the validate function's "this" refers to frmSubmit, not objValidate:
objValidate = new Validation ("frmSubmit", "onsubmit", ...);
Of course, I need to refer to the actual validation object's properties, but I can't figure out how. Any suggestions?
