with my jquery code , I tried to hide and show the inside div of li but I can't . Is there any easy way to do this? like $(this).('.nav_item_panel_div') or something else which fits my need
im having trouble using JQUERYs animate function. Basicly the div has a mouseover event that slides another div (that is inside the original div) upwards. The first div has a mouseout event that slides the second div downwards and out of view. The problem being that when you hover over the second div it fires the first divs mouseout event. Ive tried googling this and have tried adding some event bubbling but having serious trouble with it. here is the website... [URL] hover over the image and you should see the caption appear, roll over the caption and it goes crazy.
i am working on a custom drop down list that has hidden #options DIV which is shown when the user clicks on a button. the problem i am having is that the click event does not seem to be attached to the LI elements since they are hidden when the page first loads. if i show the #options DIV when the page loads everything is working as expected.i've tried to attach the click event after i show the hidden UL but that didn't work either.what can i do to make sure the LI click event fires? i tried to put A tag inside of LI and attach click to that but to no avail.
I have a TD element, with a SPAN element inside. I use td-s onmouseover and onmouseout events for a small animation. My problem is, that, when I move the cursor over the SPAN element, the onmouseout event for TD element is fired. I want to prevent this. With other words, I want onmouseout fired, just when the cursor is moved outside the td area. See the code..
i have a menu generated by a list with nested lists. i want the parent link to stay highlighted when the mouse hovers over the sub menus. because those sub menus are also generated by jquery (qtip), CSS alone won't do it (triedul.topnav li:hover a {background-color: #F00;}).is there a way to do this using jquery?
My DOM structure in HTML page have some elements 'IMG'. One of 'img' element have attribute 'src' = 'lolo1.jpg'. How can i find the 'DIV' element with this specific 'img' element inside? I have to find nearest 'DIV'.
[Code]...
I wanna write function like a GetNearestDivID('lolo2.jpg') which would give me result 'mix2'
It's basically just a table containing a message, who wrote it and when.I'm trying to build a function that filters what types of posts are visible in the newsfeed. So by clicking a button I want to be able to filter out the "message"-post or the "sale-alert"-post.Only way I can see which type of post it is, is by looking at the image source in the table. So depending on what that is, I want to set the table to display:none.
But I've been looking into the jquery selector a bit but I can't make it work. I've tried with .each(function and child selector...
As far as I understood, stopPropagation() is supposed to stop events bubbling 'up' though the element tree (through parent elements). Eg. If I use stopPropagation() on a click event on an anchor element in a list, the event would not be triggered on the list. In my code I have a popup div, that needs to have stopPropagation(), as a click on the document (everywhere other than the popup) will hide it. When I add an element to the popup that has a live click event, the live click event is never called, even though it is a child element of the popup. Shouldn't the live click get called first? If I remove the stopPropagation all is well.. some code:
This used to work to grab the image and copy, (this) being the 'project' element:
text = $(this).find("copy").text(); photo = "imgs/work/" + $(this).find("image").text();
Now, since there can be multiple 'project' elements inside a company element I have a counter that tracks which index I should be on, but I don't know the syntax for getting project(2) image and copy within a company. I tried the following code using eq, but it's not working.
var currCompanyProj = 1; text = $((this).project.eq("+currCompanyProj+")).find("copy").text();
I`m trying to make selecting an select list option (as it become when we click on it)by clicking on a special pseudo element.I`m trying to do it in this way:
I'm relativly new to JS and brand new to the forum so you might need to dumb down your replys for my slightly lacking knowledge. That being said I do have a very solid grasp of html, css and am getting there with JS and its various frameworks.I'm integrating wordpress into an existing site for a friend and currently have the main blog page appear in a DIV.This is the best way to integrate in this case due to many reasons mostly of way the site is constructed.
<div class="scroll-pane" id="scrollbox"> WORDPRESS BLOG </div>
When a checkbox is checked it will append these items. Yet, now I want it where if it's not checked or the person unchecks it... then it will remove the appended elements.
This is inside a php echo.. so don't mind the " " it's just saying it's " "
according to the code... I check with a if statement if true and remove the elements. the condition is when the checkbox is not checked. I have the same exact code to append the elements inside the div. but instead I used the .is instead of .not the hosting_Service is the input that is a checkbox.
however this code seems to work.. only for hosting_options. yet, it breaks all the code... meaning I have the if statement before this checking if it is checked... then append the elements.
well if I add the code above it dosen't allow when you check the box to append the elements inside a div.Yet if I didn't add this code and then click the checkbox it will append the elements but without refreshing the page.. if I then add this code given to above the hosting_options would only be removed and the hosting_text will still not be removed.
I was both to work properly. I want it where if you click the check box to mark it... it should append elements into the div. If you uncheck it then it should remove those elements that were appended.
how to remove the last letter inside an element, This is the code I came out with so far, but I cannot get the last letter from the structure of my elements and text - have I done something wrong in my HTML structure??
I have a dropdownlist inside of a repeater that I want to capture the change event on. The problem is the id of the dropdownlist is different for each of the dropdownlist controls that gets created. Is there a way to account for this using JQuery? I have the code working in .Net, but I want to convert it to JQuery to avoid to PostBack.
Ok, so the above code will do the regex when the contents of the textbox changes, but it does not seem to call the checkPrice function I've placed after it does the regex.
I have the above on Change code in a .keyup event and it works as expected.
New to jQuery, I did many searches before posting. This is happening in both IE6 and Firefox 3.0.13. I've gotten the following script to work under strange circumstances (explained below first snippet).
I'm trying to create a list of recipes which will on document ready all be hidden except the first one. And then when I click one of the dynamically added links (in a ul) in the sidebar I want the corresponding recipe to go from hidden to shown. I've managed to do everything really simply except I have no idea how to find the corresponding recipe when I click a link in the sidebar (the links link to the recipes with #recipe<number>)
Somehow I need to access the id of the specific recipe, which I suppose should be possible since the clickfunction should store that somehow?
EDIT: I just realized that I could just use the href value as my id for the recipe (since its the same e.g. #recipe). However I'm having trouble using the variable that stores the href/id in the .show function.
$("a[href*='#recipe']").click(function() { $(".post").hide(600); var theHref = $(this).attr("href");[code]....
I have a div A that when I mouse hover creates and appends in run time another div B inside with an higher z-index. This new div B is a info div that I want to show within the limits of the div A. When I mouse out div A, the div B is removed. The problem is that when I mouse hover the B div, it runs the mouse out event of the div A, and cleans the div B, and I want to maintain it while the mouse is still on the boundaries of the div A! Is there a way to avoid the mouse out event of the div A when the mouse is on top of the div B? IS is necessary to calculate the coordinates of the mouse and check if it is in the boundaries of the div A? By the way, I am using live("mouseover",fn) and live("mouseout",fn) to handle the mouse hover events.
I have a TabContainer on my page, and I want to add a keyup handler to the textbox, but somehow I counldn't find the textbox in my jquery function using $('#TabContainer1_TabPanel1_TextBox1'). Here is my code:
