JQuery :: Show Dynamic Changes When A Refresh Occurs?
Jul 16, 2009
I have a moderate level of experience with javascript, and a good oo background. So, when I tried jquery I'm really liking it. I have a requirement to add input fields dynamically to the form since I don't know ahead of time how many entries the user may request. I was able to implement this with jquery very quickly with a small
I am using javascript that will show/hide a DIV if a link is clicked. In the DIV is a form. When the user input's form info, and the form is processed, if there is an error the page reloads displaying the error. However, the user must click the link again to see the form and correct their mistake. Is there a way to keep the div shown on reload?
<script language="javascript"> function toggle() { var ele = document.getElementById("show"); var text = document.getElementById("add"); if(ele.style.display == "block") {
I have some contents on my page that are displayed on click or hover.Therefore, initially they are hidden using the hide() method.
They work fine as intended.
But if it is a slow computer, you can see them on the screen for a second or two before they disappear. Or if the user refreshes the page - you get the same thing happen. How can I prevent this?
In page load of an asp.net, I am creating some dynamic checkboxes. How can I use the javascript to refresh these checkboxes without loading the whole page?
When i try to dynamically change the height of an iframe in ie through a java-script to match its content (a html page containing a flash movie, it doesn't resize the iframe at first, but when i reload the same page into the iFrame it resizes as planned, how come?This script works well in firefox, safari and netscape, but i cant get it to work in ie(8, 7). And i get the same problems with every resizing script i've tried. This is the script i use:
<script type="text/javascript"> function adjustIFrameSize(iframe) { [code].....
I have a flash menu in the first iframe, the buttons on the menu uses getURL(siteToLoad, "contents") to load another html-page into the iframe "contents". Is it possible to make the iFrame refresh automatically though javascript so that i just refreshes the iframe once? Everytime ive tried that it just ends up in a never ending refresh-loop... How can i make this work? Is there any better script for resizing (and refreshing after resize) the iframe height so that it matches to its content?
trying to make a simple web app that will let a user select from a catagory, then, when the catagory is selected, it stores the selection in a php session variable, which will be used in another sql statement to retrieve a locations list where catagory = "the stored catagory selection". The new list of locations will be displayed in a second div and each item in the locations list will also get information from the database when selected. Im able to pull the first catagory list from the database and show the div that they are displayed in using jquery and php but the new list of links will not change to show the contents of the third div.
How would you exit a function if a mouse-click occurs? $(document).ready(function () { $("#btnSkate").hover(function () { loadStyleSheet(); if (iWantToBreakifClicked) { return false; }}, function () { unloadStyleSheet(); return false; }); });
this code refereshes the whole page and focus goes at the top of the page but I want the focus of the page at the same place where I perform refresh. Actually I am using AJAX to submit a form, a form opens through ajax request but I need to refresh the page to take the effect of the dynamic data, which is being saved,updated or deleted on the page. So is there any way where focus of the page remains there when I refreshed the page
I have been playing with JavaScript few days now. I have a php script that returns data in XML. I want my Dashboard (html) page to show the response back from my php file. Since this is going to be a Dashboard hence it needs to refresh the content every second hence using JavaScript.
I want to get some guides, tutorials, or how-to for this. Any help would be much appreciated.
Here is what I get from my .php file if I do a POST method to it and define variable "extension=9999" to it code...
How can above be nicely presented in an HTML using JavaScript and how would this query be refreshed and re-POSTED every 1 second?
P.S. Amount of XML data coming back to me is dynamic. So, I don't know how much data I get back. Sometime nothing. Sometime 4 childs. Sometime 10 childs in the XML.
For example I have this sort code: for ($i=0;$i<$db;$i++) { $t1="toggleh$i"; echo "<div class='c'>Test<input name='$t1' type='image' id='$t1' src='test.png'/></div> <br>"; } I try to make clear the screen for users, so I use hide & show to hide some row on screen what users actually don't need...
The JS part of code is something like this: $('#toggleh0').click( function() { $('div.showhide').toggle(400); }); $('#toggleh1').click( function() { $('div.showhide').toggle(400); }); $('#toggleh3').click( function() { $('div.showhide').toggle(400); }); . . . I dont know how can do this dynamic. So if "$i=6;" then I need toggle 0-6 function...
I have adrop-downelement on the page. On the change event I am appending two labels to a text box. The problem is I am able to see the newly added elements on the page while debugging it. but as soon as thepost backoccurs the added elements seems to bedisappearingfrom the page.
Here is a link to my gallery: [URL] Here is a screencap of my problem: [URL] This just seems to randomly happen sometimes, and I can't figure out why. Very rarely, it will be one or two of the thumbnails that's lower, but I didn't get a screencap and haven't been able to get it to happen again. The problem with the main image occurs frequently after clearing the cache in Safari. I'm totally stumped, because other times it loads just fine, and seems to always be fine when the page is reloaded or a thumbnail is clicked.
I am having a html file with show/hide functionality using javascript. If I click "more link" then I can see more links with "hide" link at the bottom. On clicking hide link its getting hide. My problem is, if I click "more link" and I refreshed the page. Again all the links get hidden. I want those links should be hidden only on clicking the "hide link". Not for every page refresh.
Here is my html code:
<script language='javascript' type='text/javascript'> function showHideDiv() { var divstyle = new String(); divstyle = document.getElementById('moreDiv').style.display;
what i'm having is to dropdownlists with data from mysql (PHP). One is with manufacturer and other is items. Both data is from the same table, just different fields. I need, when I choose manufacturer, the item list show only these items asociated with choosen manufacturer without page refresh
I have a php webpage that has a single input box. When ever an item is entered and the Submit button is pressed, the entry is added to a database. Additionally, the database table contents are read and printed directly below the input box and the submit button on the same page, using AJAX. Now, I have decided to add additional functionality to the page. I want a delete button for each entry displayed in the table below. For any button that is pressed, I want to delete that entry from the database.
Here's the problem: I want the database table contents that has been printed below to reflect this change. I can achieve the delete, but in order to show the change in content caused by the delete, the table below must either be replaced or updated via ajax. How can I achieve this? I have been trying to follow these examples using jQuery and Mootools respectively, but I've been having no luck. [URL] I don't want all the fancy looks, I just want the core functionality.
First, I'd like to hide the Google Player until an onclick event actually occurs.
Second, at the moment, there's only an onclick for the image maps over the tracks list, and no href, which means the cursor never changes to the finger cursor, letting folks know there's a link there.
Last, when you click on a link, I'd like to the page to move its focus back to the top of the page (not reload, obviously). Instead, it just stays where you are, and the user has to manually scroll to see the full album art graphic.
Im trying to toggle a block of info on a forum that gets displayed multiple times. The below works for just one ID but I'll have more then one.
Code: function toggle() { var ele = document.getElementById("toggleUserinfo"); var text = document.getElementById("displayUserinfo"); if(ele.style.display == "block") {
In our organisation we are developing a website which makes heavy use of javascript.Right now we have jquery 1.4.2 as js library.The problem is,on a few pages, we get the 'script stopped working' error and we just cannot find out what exactly causes the error.
This is what we know:It occurs in chrome and firefox, under windows, linux and mac.In FF 2 it happens on every pageload of a certain testpage whereas in FF >= 3.6 it only happens'randomly'If we take out all the js includes from that page and load it up in FF 2, there is no error, obviously.if i set the'dom.max_script_run_time'value in FF 2 to 11 seconds,the error vanishes, and if i set it to 10 sec (the standard) it occurs on every page load. If i set the value to one second in FF 4 it still doesnt occur regularly.There seems to be a correlation between slow computers and fast computers, with more errors on the slow computer side.
how to debug that error at all? Or how we can find a testcase, something with which we can reproduce this error in every combination.
I have a form with a list of subjects (radio buttons) that I get from my database with PHP, and I want to show a list of videos (also from my video table using PHP), based on which subject they choose.
I have tried multiple POST, GET methods with JavaScript examples, but cannot get it to work. I am not having any issues with the PHP getting either list, it is just getting the radio buttons to pass either the POST or GET data to JavaScript, and have it take that value so I can get the list from my database with PHP. I tried to use a div for the list of videos, and didn't have much success.
im trying to create an array with mutiple div ids. send this off to the function and the function switches the classes to show or hide depending on state.
I am working on a registration form. I need to create a dynamic drop down list which will show a certain column when a condition is selected. Example below:- [URL] I have searched everywhere but could find an exact example. I only know I might need java script for this function.
