View 1 RepliesI am having difficulty on maintaining session when using ajax.
I first load a page with a session genterated. But since AJAX is a
client side activity where I sent an AJAX request to an url without any session
info. Of course, the server will create a new session. Even though I
can write the session id into the first page where I made ajax calls, it is not a secure way...
How do people deal with this problem?
I'm working on a big JS project and need to pull the session ID out (JUST the ID number, not the whole thing that comes out of DOM). For example:

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have the following few snippets of code:
JS:
Code:
$(function() {
$('.delCatButton').live('click', function(e) {
e.preventDefault();
var cat_name = this.title;
var delCatFormID = $("#delCatFormID").val();
[Code]...
The $_SESSION['delCatFormID'] variable in the process.php page is incorrect, and never equals the posted variable.
This was a script made by me, most of it. This was a runescape experience table, of course, in runescape.
<script>
<!--
document.close();
document.open();
document.writeln('<PRE>');
points = 0;
output = 0;
minlevel = 2;
maxlevel = 200;
for (lvl = 1; lvl <= maxlevel; lvl++)
{
points += Math.floor(lvl + 300 * Math.pow(2, lvl / 7.));
if (lvl >= minlevel)
document.writeln('Level ' + (lvl) + ' - ' + output + ' xp');
output = Math.floor(points / 4);
}
document.writeln('</PRE>');
document.close();
</script>
As far as I get for now, NS works better than IE, it is unexpected result.
What I am trying to do is append content of one div to another one, under IE, I know there is a simple but not standard way -- innerHTML, one issue to me now is it would not run code in javascript in the content. Another way is looping through the source div and create element and attribute on the destiny div, it works unblievable great under NS, js code in the content runs very well. But it doesn't work under IE, it stops right here
for(var i=0; i < sourcenode.attributes.length; i++){
destnode.setAttribute(sourcenode.attributes[i].nodeName,sourcenode.attributes[i].nodeValue);
...}
when it goes through attribute, id="..." and class="..." fine, and stops at style="width:300px", the error is "member not found".
I decided to make an Experience Generator for my site. I started simple by making one that uses a prompt. First it prompts for your level, then it multiplies it by using a random number function. This code below.
<html>
<head>
<title>Experience Generator</title>
<script type="text/javascript">
[Code]....
BUT this code pulls up and error at the line of var B.. What I am trying to do is pass the form to the var B and then goes on from there to do the Experience Generator.
In my project i am using ajax and jquery. After going to a page via ajax without page reload i want to see the same page if the user refresh the browser. I used the cookie plugin inorder to solve. As it is not safe i am trying to do the same using session. I have dowloaded the jquery session plugin and initialized the session variable using the below satements.
var SESSION_URL = $.session("current_url",Url);
var SESSION_DATASTRING = $.session("dataString",dataString);
and i am getting the session value in the same jquery $(function) where it is initialised, through alert($.session("current_url");
But i am not getting this session value in an another jquery event like
window.load(function(){
});
How can i get the initialized session value in an another event.
I am trying to reference a session variable inside some JQuery code. Theseexamples below arewhat I am using currently just to try and see if I can get something to display and nothing shows up.[code]Just to make sure an alert works, I threw in a alert("hi"); which works fine. It is when I try to write out the session variable it fails.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI am trying to use jQuery AJAX. What my requirement is, i wish to load user names from DB in dataset, convert it to JSON format and store it in memory or using jQuery data for use while a user is browsing my site, i.e for a session. This way I can use autocomplete or my own code to display data to user.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have application A and application B deployed in two different app servers.B is launched in a new browser window when user clicks on a link in A .So application B starts as a popup.the problem I am facing is if I logout in B, automatically A also logouts and vice versa.this may be happening becasue of session merge, when new window is called there any way in java script or jquery to open a new browser window without passing the session information ?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI can successfully change the background image using the following:
jQuery(document).ready(function($) {
$("div#largeimage").randombg({
directory: "http://path/to/imgs", //directory to image folder
howmany: 3 //how many images are in this folder
});
});
But, what I want to do is change this ONCE per user session. So instead of change this on every refresh / page load I want to load it once, store that setting in a cookie/session, and not do it again until the next session.
I have a little problem with saving a single checkbox state (check or uncheckd) for a session with jQuery.
I did find similar problems and solutions but i couldn't apply the help or solutions to my situation. So i give it a little try here..
Good to know is that I'm new to jQuery.
What i would like to achieve
I have one single checkbox that, when checked, will unhide some div's. When you uncheck the checkbox the div's will hide again. This is sort of an "Option". This works fine with the piece of jQuery code i have now.
The problem is that when a user checks the checkbox and then loads another page (/page2) the checkbox is unchecked again. I would like to store the checkbox state for a session. So users don't have to check the checkbox again, and again after browsing to the next page (if they wish to use this option).[code]...
I have a php page (target_market.php), with a form that has 34 checkboxes. I would like the be able to click the boxes and have JS post the 'checked' value to a php session varibale when a button is clicked. If the user navigates away from the page and returns, the pages needs to reload the checkbox session variables.
How do I post the 'checked' value as either YES or NO using JS to another page (target_session.php), so that i can add them to database at a later stage?, but also retrieve the session variables and update the check boxes should the user come back to the target_market.php page?
i have a requirement in which i want to use click event to set some value into a jsp session object.
now from what i have tested, this seems to be logically very wrong, but the fact is that i want this thing to work somehow as there are no alternative for me in this case.
here is the code which i am trying.
$(document).ready( function() {
var key = 'false';
// initial value
[Code].....
i know that this question might come into the category of absurd questions, but can anyone point out some logic for something similar, i have a jsp page and i want to set these values in the session based on the button click.
I have a question here, I have a mother page of 2 divs, one for the category list of foods on the left and the right div is a placeholder for the selected food of the category,
Then i have a modal box, which loads the list of foods associated to the category when clicked,
What i wanted to do is, when i select a food from the modal box and click submit, I wanted to populate the selected food into the right div of the mother page, so far the farthest i went is loading the list of food into the modal window,
its like a shopping cart, but instead of redirecting your users to another page, you display all their orders on the same page... can this be achieve, im using jquery+php sessions
Right im trying to incorporate a splash screen on recent project like the one here... [URL] But im trying to implement cookies with it so it only loads the splash screen once every browser session but i havent managed to figure this out yet
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm creating chat with LONG POLLING. To keep main domain ajax requests (send message) untouched (unqueued), I had to put my long-polling script to subdomain.So I've got 2 "domains"
foo.cz
channel.foo.cz
I do not mind about any Same Origin Policy right now as I put
header("Access-Control-Allow-Origin: *");
at top of that script. I also do use
ini_set('session.cookie_domain', '.foo.cz');
in all scripts (sending, receiving, chatting room).
For debugging, i've got this in my channel.foo.cz/getNews.php:
print_r($_SESSION);
print_r($_COOKIE);
die();
My problem is:
I do load chatting room Ajax (jquery) requests channel.foo.cz/getNews.php getNews.php returns this:
array()array()
It look that cookies and session isn't setted up. But! If I look into my FF cookie browser, I do see that domain for these cookies set in chatRoom is .foo.cz If I try to copy ajax request uri and paste it into browser url, it returns me
array([username] => martin)array([SESSID] => some1D65a4s6d54asd)
I would like to set a Session variable to a value. In Vbscript it should be
Session("ZoomValue")=500
How can I set this session variable by using Javascript?
I'm just beginning with JavaScript (and Ajax). My loginscript now works with Ajax - that is; the script is sending a request to the servers PHP script to check username and password, but I wonder what that script should return - and how to use that response. Either XML or pure text: The response is now "false" if the user couldn't log in for some reason, and the users ID and real name if the login went well...
But then the problem: if login IS ok - so that the users ID and real name is returned from the serverscript - I would like to store those variables in a session variable ($_SESSION in PHP). How do I get those variables back to the client script from JavaScript?
I know how to access Server Side Session variable at client side(JS)..But i want to know how to Set Sessin varable at Clinet side(JS) & access its value at Server side.
