I need the text in the function to save to a variable. It will run through each of the child text and than attach to data. I'm willing to switch stuff up/rewrite a different way, I just need to know a way of getting this done

I have lots of links in the page, click each one addClass 'voted' to this link. then save the effection into cookies. so that next time refresh web browser, it will save the addClass event. I've wrote what (at least in my mind) and awsome report generator for a group who uses my server. The user gets all the data from the server via the server's normal reporting tools, and then sorts/shows/hides/formats columns using javascript/jquery (saves server cycles). There is only one slight problem (think "grand canyon" slight), once a user has a form he or she wants, then the user needs to save the tab separated value form of the report to disk.
I can output the TSV into a DIV (and probably an IFRAME I'm guessing), and do for display purposes. However, the users need to copy/paste at this point, which is rather user-unfriendly. Is there a way to either prompt a file download/save (without making a call to the server and wasting time), or opening up a new tab with just the desired text, so the user can save it?
EDIT: I'd rather not replace the whole page that generates the report, as the user probably doesn't want to lose his or her work in formatting setings, and my want to generate multiple reports from one dataset/query, without having to rewrite the query.

First, when there's no class at all in <div id="main-content">, the 'active' class is added to *all* the #nav-primary LIs, and also to *all* the #aux-left DIVs; how can I modify this so that in the absence of any class on #main-content, do nothing?
Second, how can I target only the first or second of multiple classes to store in the 'containerClass' variable, e.g., <div id="main-content" class="apples bananas">?

View 3 Replies View RelatedBasically, i have a CSS/jQuery keyboard from NETTUTS; however my problem is trying to select multiple inputs. Everything works as it should, however i want to select the input, store it in hidden field (which input is current), then when i start to type, it can enter the characters into that input field (that is selected). Currently, it just allows me to enter inputs into a single textarea. I want to onfocus, set as "Focusedfield", and when i type it goes into that field.

When my page loads I want some text to fade in on my header, display for a few seconds, thenfade out, followed by a second piece of text which does the same, then a third etc. Ideally, I would like all the text elements to loop infinitely. I have managed to get the effect I want with one piece of text usingthese simple lines of code but am stumped when it comes to the subsequent ones. From what my small brain has computed I think the option may be to put all my text items in a list, set the initial list div to display: nonethen apply the fadein, display, fadeout to each in turn. But I don't know what I would put in the script to acheive this (create some sort of array with the li items?)
My searches keep leading me to image carousels etc which I couldn't work out how to configure for text. Also I'm not sure if the (hidden) list would just be dropped onto the page for non-javascipt enabled browsers messing up my page layout, so maybe I need to pull the text from a file / folder?
