I am currently working on a project that parses xml from a request to a website for weather information. I have had success parsing other elements so I know that my code is working. I'm just stuck with a particular element. The xml response is as follows:
Code:
<adc_database>
<forecast>
<day number="1">
<daytime>
<hightemperature>93</hightemperature>
<lowtemperature>60</lowtemperature>
</daytime>
</day>
<day number="2">
<daytime>
<hightemperature>90</hightemperature>
<lowtemperature>58</lowtemperature>
</daytime>
</forecast>
</adc_database>
This is only a short version of the xml response. I am trying to fetch information in the "daytime" tags for each day, as there are multiple days. I am however, not having good success. I am using javascript to parse code is as follows:
Code:
function findChild (element, nodeName)
{
var child;
for (child = element.firstChild; child != null; child = child.nextSibling)
{
if (child.nodeName == nodeName)
return child;
}
return null;
} .....
I have not specified any declarations and other code in here as its working and probably not necessary to waste space. I just need to fix my looping to populate the array with the correct information. Only needing to populate it with the elements under the daytime tag which is located under each day. This in turn is all located under the Forecast tag.

1. "visit"/connect to a website
2. search after rss feeds on the site
3. grab the rss link and make it useable for other scripts (array...)

$(this).html();
I want to dig out all the images in an rss feed and display them using an image plugin. so I have something like this.
$('div#rss_feed p a img').each(function (){
#('#imageviewer').append(this);
});
Now that worked but I need each image to be in an li element
$('div#rss_feed p a img').each(function (){
var h = '<li class="image"><a href="">'+$(this).html()+'</a></li>';
#('#imageviewer').append(h);
});
I know I cant use $(this) like the above but I want to do something of the same effect. Is there a way to get the html code of whatever this is pointing to?

I was hoping to get some insight as to why this may be happening. I am using the jFlickr plugin which can be found here:
[URL]
I am using their colobox mashup to display the thumbnails in an overlay when clicked. Problem is, is that I am only getting 21 images to display. I have over 500 images that have been tagged properly.
Here is my code snippet:
$('#cbox').jflickrfeed({ feedapi: 'photos_public.gne', limit: 5000, qstrings: { id: 'MY ID GOES HERE', tags: 'Journey Home Tour 2010' }, cleanDescription: true, itemTemplate: '<li>' + '<a rel="colorbox" href="{{image}}" title="{{title}}">' + '<img src="{{image_s}}" alt="{{title}}" />' + '</a>' + '</li>' }, function(data) { $('#cbox a').colorbox(); });
As you can notice my limit option is set to 5000 and my tag is set.

I was wondering if you can extract an item from a rss file and display it in a div. like extract the title and put it in an h3 tag, extract the description and put it in a paragraph, and have the link below, and all automatic, so you just insert the code and it displays the first 10 items or so?

I have this code which I found which loads XML/RSS feed and displays the entries.
However, it outputs every entry.
I would like to add a way to limit the output, via a parameter, but I am not sure how to do it.
Code:
<script type="text/javascript">
$(function() {
$('#journal_feed').renderFeed('journal_rss.xml');

I need a JavaScript (or something else) that will fade out the web site, on load, and display a series of images, then display a "Continue" button to go back to the web site. I have an idea for a cute (and funny) way to get people interested in my site that has a weird name. I searched high and low (Google!, amongst others) for anything that would be close to what I need, to no avail.

My web application does user authentication through X.509 digital
certificates in combination with user name and password.
When the user applies for a digital certificate from my certification
authority (CA), I have a VBScript code that generates a public/private
key pair with the RSA algorithm, as well as the certificate signing
request (CSR) in PKCS#10 format. I assume that the key pair should be
maintained by the browser (my application support Internet Explorer
only at this moment). Am I right?
Now, when the user tries to log into his account, I would like to have
my web application receive a digitally signed token from the client.
The token can be the client's username signed with his/her private
key.
Since this signing process will happen on the client side, it can only
be handled by client side script, for example, JavaScript.
But, how do we get access to the private key with JavaScript?

I have to make a digital clock (which i did figure out) but the number needs to be images with the numbers on them. (ex.: (an image of the number 1+an image of the number 2+image of number 0+images of number8) would be 11:08))
Here's what I have so far. Do I need to use <img src=""> in a function then call the function for my images?

I am wanting to display 3 separate data feeds on my mobile website from Pachube like this [url] and have modified some code (which was designed just to display 1 feed). As you will see the code has been extended but does not display (at all!) on a iPhone, whilst the original code did. I have been told that it may be because there is no interval between each variable actualization. how to rectify this.

I would like to use Galleria to display photos on my website but I'm having trouble getting it to function. I don't know an awful lot about html but I think I've followed the instructions correctly. I would like my gallery to function something like this: [URL] but right now it looks like this: [URL] I'm not so worried about the design aspect because I'm hoping to work on that later but I would like the gallery to work correctly.

I have a Javascript that calculates and displays how long, in minutes and seconds a user has been in online(Google Gears development) mode on a given web page. I need however, to modify the script so that it calculates and displays how long the user has been online on the web site. For e.g. on page 1 for 2 minutes 12 seconds. Moves to page 2 - total time on page 1 and 2= 4 minutes 13 seconds. My script (see below) starts a second counter then converts that to minutes and seconds. I have tried passing the secVar0 variable in the url but that comes back "undefined".
Code:
if(request.responseText != "" && request.responseText.indexOf("404 Page not found") == -1)
{
c=0;

I am creating a very content rich news/media website that requires an audio player. The audio player should be seen by the user as soon as they enter the website and the playlist should play throughout their time spent at the website and should not be restarted or stopped when navigating the website.
We originally were using a frameset for the audio player, but the fact that none of the pages through out the site could be reached through a link in the URL bar proved to be too much of an issue.
So the new idea was to open the audio player in a javascript pop-up window. But because of the nature of the website, we found that it was very common for users to go "back" in their browser to the homepage after they had navigated away, which would cause the pop-up code to be activated again and would make the pop-up reload, interrupting the audio.
So then we moved the pop-up code to the splash page so that when you enter the main page, its already open, and it can't be interrupted. But THEN we found that the pop-up window was of course opened behind the main website's window, which made it hidden and useless.
So we currently have no solutions! All we need is for this pop-up window to take focus and be the very top window, and once its opened to never be reloaded/refreshed again.

I have a twitter feed on my site and although am generally happy with it, the time-stamp for each tweet is several hours ahead of my time zone. I've looked through the js files to see if there is anything that allows me to set the timezone but cannot find anything. Anyone know how to reset the time to pacific standard time?
Here's the URL
