Does anybody know of any simple, stable plugin that does that ? been looking around and most of them bring slideshows, carousels, etc All i want is to put them into a static grid but not having to resize manually every pic that is uploaded.
View 2 RepliesIm using the cycle plugin trying to make a banner slide tha is 100% the width of the window, my problem is that when i resize de window the banner does not align center, it stays somo what left align. So is there a way to keep the slides align center after you resize the window usingthe cycle plugin? or is there another plugin that i can do that? I attached a image to ilustrate, the white banner with the cat should align center when i resize the windows but it stays left align.

So far I have the slides automatically fading between each other but I'd also like to have thumbnails that when hovered jumps the slideshow to the associated slide. Using pager and pagerEvent I can do this but I don't know how to use my own thumbnails for the pager.

of using an outer table to detect the size of my content, then use
window.resizeTo( ).
The problem is I'm not sure how I can determine the size of what I think is
referred to as the 'chrome' - the window borders, toolbars, etc.
Is there a way to determine the height and width of the chrome so that I can
supply the correct parameters to the resizeTo method?
I have a mysql database with a bunch of quotations in it. I created a blog at http:[url]....At the top of the blog is an iframe window that directs to http:[url]....On that page it uses php to pull out a random quote from the database. The iframe window displays that quote onto the blog.It works great except that the height is not automatically resizing.Is there a way I can use javascript to do this instead? Here is some pseudo-code of what I'd like to be able to do: (p.s. I do not know javascript or much of anything so I am looking for people to tell me how to ACTUALLY do this)

I have 3 divs (boxes) next to each other, I can input text via a textarea to each. I need all 3 to resize - be the same size on text overflow - so if box a gets 100 lines of code and resizes, the other 2 should follow. I have written this js, and added it to the button which moves the text to the boxes (to the onclick)

What I want to do is as soon as a txt box (called 17 for reasons I can not get intonow) is populated with a date, I want to automatically display the Gregorian version of that date in GrDate3 text box. Here is the code I am using and nothing is working. I have tried the ready and change functions and I don't get anything displayed in GrDate3.

I have just added a jQuery fade plugin onto a page to automatically cycle through images in an unordered list without a click event. It works well but when I preview the page with JS disabled all images become visible and it messes up the layout. What I need is a method that works when JS is disabled. I have seen methods where the {display:none} CSS styles are applied then changed via JS but can't figure this out. If anyone can either recommend a decent plugin with provisions for JS disabled browsers

Img are 400px height 900px width btw...although they do have a 18px top padding but I have tried doing 418px containerheight to no avail either..
I'm trying to develop a function to resize a control upon window resize. In regular javascript I would make a global array of control names and append code to the event that cycles through and resizes each control.For example

I am using Ben Alman's JQuery resize plugin in order to obtain the varying computed width of an element when the window is resized (the element in question is a page wrapper that exhibits the expand-to-fit behavior of a block box, and it's computed width is obviously influenced by the resizing of the window. Essentially, what I need to be able to do, is to reference a variable that is defined in a .resize() function ('width_page') in a seperate .each() function.

I also understand that this is specific to the context of the .resize() function, and that it can't be taken out of it without using an element selector. Is there some way I can call the .resize() function in my .each() function?

I downloaded a code for image mouse over effects. It works exactly how it's supposed to except when you first load the page, the images are not there. They do not appear and function until you actually roll the mouse over them.

Im currently working on a project for class and have been directed to use Javascript for what im looking to do. Im a beginner when it comes to coding w/ javascript. Over the last couple days I've spent good time reading and practicing tutorials but have yet to do something I imagine is very basic for what I want to do.
At the moment, im looking to insert text into a webpage, that links to images. The images, ideally will layer on top of each other (Multiple images can be shown based on the "text" which activates it) Images shown, if done what im looking for, will have a transparent background to view images set behind one another. I've spent a couple hours looking up code through google, found similiar code which i've tried to manipulate to do what I want. I have yet to put something successful together. Was hoping I could look upon experience programmers to help me out by pointing me in the right direction. Im willing to do the work, just looking for that guidance

I have a grid of thumbnail divs, 3 columns wide, which alternate having the class .first, .second, .third, repeating for each row. The divs also have a class according to the category to which they are assigned. There is a menu which allows you to filter the thumbnails by category. So, when you choose a category, it hides any div that doesn't have a class with that category. What I need to do is, when the grid is filtered, somehow clear all the .first, .second, .third classes, and reassign them based on the items that remain visible.

1) How do you show this thumbnail navigation straight away on loading the page? (ie "best shots" and other list items dont need to be there)
2) and get the thumbnails show near the bottom of the page?
3) and also get the next image to fade in automatically say after 5 seconds, without having to click on a thumbnail, although one can?
