Automatically Resize A Window To Its Content?

I would like to automatically resize a window to its content. I was thinking
of using an outer table to detect the size of my content, then use
window.resizeTo( ).
The problem is I'm not sure how I can determine the size of what I think is
referred to as the 'chrome' - the window borders, toolbars, etc.
Is there a way to determine the height and width of the chrome so that I can
supply the correct parameters to the resizeTo method?

I'm looking for a resize function that will resize a window around content, in my case a div.
I've googled away but not come up with anything as yet so would like to ask if anyone knows a plug in that can do this simple task.

Basically I created a nice Jquery function to resize a window to the content on an Iframe. Because the Iframe has PHP in it which pulls a list of stockists and Iframes dont Auto resize to fit its contents if it pulls extra info.

So this bit of code is embedded into my Iframe, all its suppose to do is get the documents (the Iframe's) current height then it selects the parent document ( the one containing the Iframe ) then it basically adds the height to the attributes.
THE PROBLEM: It works great, the first time you use it. BOOYAKASHAA. However when you click a another stockist on the list. A smaller list for example... it keeps the height of the document really big. So it initially makes the space bigger to accomadate the list. But does not go smaller afterwards?

Im using the cycle plugin trying to make a banner slide tha is 100% the width of the window, my problem is that when i resize de window the banner does not align center, it stays somo what left align. So is there a way to keep the slides align center after you resize the window usingthe cycle plugin? or is there another plugin that i can do that? I attached a image to ilustrate, the white banner with the cat should align center when i resize the windows but it stays left align.

I'm trying to develop a function to resize a control upon window resize. In regular javascript I would make a global array of control names and append code to the event that cycles through and resizes each control.For example

I'm wondering if there's a more elegant way to do this in jQuery. I've played around with it a bit, but i'm unsure how to get the control object to the resize function triggered by window resize without a global variable.

Is there any way to resize the iframe automatically, so that it could obtain the original height and width of the page which is embedded in that iframe? I actually saw this function on PayPal but I don't remember its link.

I'm trying to scale the text with the size of the window (I've also got all the layout sizes in ems, so this should keep the aspect ratio of everything the same as the window is resized). The code that I've got at the moment doesn't do anything -

Does anybody know of any simple, stable plugin that does that ? been looking around and most of them bring slideshows, carousels, etc All i want is to put them into a static grid but not having to resize manually every pic that is uploaded.

I have a mysql database with a bunch of quotations in it. I created a blog at http:[url]....At the top of the blog is an iframe window that directs to http:[url]....On that page it uses php to pull out a random quote from the database. The iframe window displays that quote onto the blog.It works great except that the height is not automatically resizing.Is there a way I can use javascript to do this instead? Here is some pseudo-code of what I'd like to be able to do: (p.s. I do not know javascript or much of anything so I am looking for people to tell me how to ACTUALLY do this)

I have 3 divs (boxes) next to each other, I can input text via a textarea to each. I need all 3 to resize - be the same size on text overflow - so if box a gets 100 lines of code and resizes, the other 2 should follow. I have written this js, and added it to the button which moves the text to the boxes (to the onclick)

I've been able to get the iFrame to resize to the content - see this link - it's pretty simple. My only problem, is if the user clicks a link so that another page is displayed, the iFrame doesn't resize. It will only resize when the parent page is reloaded. So, not sure what to do about that.
(I do work with someone who writes Javascript and PHP, so they would know how to implement it if I found a solution).

ok so Im trying to make an expanding content box. The only thing that changes from the 2 classes is height in the css but for some reason toggleclass fails to workevery timeI set the height in the first class. Here is my code.

I am using a WYSIWYG web editor (Serif WebPlus X4; for a whole range of reasons - please don't turn this thread into a discussion of the pros and cons of WYSIWYG! ). It has a tool to create a site search facility, whereby you add a text box to accept the search terms, and specify an iFrame in which the results appear. The source of the iFrame is not specified as a page, but rather the content is generated and inserted by the search JavaScript that runs when the user searches the page.
I really don't want the results to be in an iFrame, because I think it looks a mess when the page and the iFrame both scroll. To avoid this, I'm trying to get the iFrame to resize to fit the results, so it won't need to scroll. (Of course, the alternative would be to change the JavaScript so the results are placed directly onto a page rather than in an iFrame, but because of the way the WYSIWYG editor works, that's less straightforward).
I've found many scripts online that would let me change the size of the iFrame based on its content, but they all assume that the content is coming from a file saved on the server, and work by checking the height of the file's content, and inserting that value as the height of the iFrame. Now, the problem is that when I use these scripts they cause the iFrame to become 0px high, I assume because the frame doesn't have a fixed source that can be measured, but rather gets its content fed in from the search JavaScript.
Can anyone help me figure out a way to resize the frame even though its content is dynamically generated as the page with the frame is loaded? I've copied below the search script and the html page with the iFrame that needs to resize. Ideally, whatever solution I use shouldn't involve editing the .js file I've attached, since this is generated automatically by the WYSIWYG program.

I'd like to know how you would include updated blog posts in html?
I assume it uses an RSS feed of some sort... but what kind of code is
needed to automatically retrieve the updates from other sites and
include them on one single web page?
(For instance, I want to "include" someone else's web content on my
page as "here's the latest from so and so:" and then you could read
whatever is retrieved from that URL.)
An example I'm talking about is the way news sites offer the news
headlines in a java script box for websites. The web owner just puts in
one code and the headlines are automatically updated by the news

I originally thought that I would just be able to resize the iframe and the other elements would follow suit but as you can see Ive tried to resize the other encasing elements also. The code resizes partially in chrome but only to a certain point and not to the full height of the doc content.

I have been having an issue with this script to resize my iframe(ifr) based on the content loaded in it.I am half bald from this issue. Works perfect in IE7 & 8 but not in FF or Chrome.FF works "almost" - It resizes on first page loaded but doesn't resize if the iframe content is changed until refreshed. (example: If I load search results which shows 10 results and then click one and it loads the page which isn't as high as the search results page was then it just stays at the larger height until I refresh and then resizes correctly.)

See how that image with some links on it slides when you click on the arrows? If you click right a bunch of times you just get the original image and they keep rotating through.
Does anyone know of a plugin like this? I don't want one taht slides all the way back to the first node when you reach the end. I want one with this never ending effect like on this page.

I'm creating a page that lists the available songs that I have for karaoke, and I'm having some difficulties with formatting. I'm using jquery to retrieve an XML created by php, and outputting it to the html page using jquery's append() function. However, when I do this,the DIV that contains the data (the one I'm appending) simply does not re-size with the data - so I have a div that's a few pixels high, and a data list that just floods out of it in the emptiness of my body background (white).I've tried setting a % or px height to the div, with no change in behavior. Oh, it happens both in Firefox and Internet Explorer equally.

I have a webpage with an IFrame in it. The content for the IFrame could change per page and with it size. I don't want scrollbar's inside the IFrame but rather for the whole page. To accomplish this I must resize the height of the IFrame (width = fixed). But I can't seem to accomplish this. The links within the Iframe load the new content but I have to access the parent document to be able to resize the IFrame height. How I can resize the iframe from within javascript in the IFrame.
