So now the onmouseover has again its value [the original one, copied by doing an alert($("#"+elem+i).attr('onmouseover')) when i disable the onmouseover event], but it doesn't work

Apr 21, 2010I'm working on a couple of pages that look like this: [URL] As the visitor mouses over the month name, the image to the right is supposed to change to show the cover of that month's magazine issue. The onmouseover/onmouseout code has been working fine for months, but I recently added a couple new JS elements to the page, and now when the visit stops hovering over Sep/Oct, the image doesn't change.
I'm thinking that the way to fix this is by converting this action to jQuery, which is loaded on the page anyway, but I'm struggling to get a concise expression of what I want to happen. That is, I can do it by brute force with dozens of lines of code, but there must be a better way.

JQuery :: Animation And Opening A New Tab?
Sep 8, 2011I am animating a slider.I am using setInterval to loop the animation.This works fine...However...If you open a new tab, or minimize the browser window... when you come back the animation speeds up for a bit and then slows down again...Any ideas why this would be?...I suspect that while the browser window is not active it stores up the setInterval functions and then runs them at once when the window is active... speeding up the animation.

May 12, 2011I've set up a jsfiddle here [URL]I've been working to reduce my problem to the basics, the end application is a bit more complex and I'm pulling data into the array dynamically using a query from our BI tool.
I'm trying to get the hidden div's to show/animate using the mousedown on the outer DIV. The second example (Belknap2) works (just click the div) because I've typed the code into the mouseover (which is the same text which the variable x results in).
When I try to make this a bit more dynamic, e.g., by calling the variable rather than typing the expression into the mouseover in the first example, it doesn't run.
JQuery :: Dialog Opening Behind Overlay ?
Jul 28, 2011jQuery 1.6.2, jQuery UI 1.8.14. I use a sequence of dialogs to present a number of wizard type interfaces to my users, but I have a problem since upgrading to these jQuery versions that certain dialogs within each of my wizards open behind the dialog overlay and I can't get to it. I can see that the dialog is ending up with a zindex of 1000, and the overlay has a zindex of 1001, so I've overridden my dialog property to be 1002, and that brings it over the overlay, but then the input fields on the dialog are still not editable. The escape key will still close the dialog.
This doesn't happen to all my dialogs, but it does happen to the same ones in my sequence of dialogs each time, depending on which wizard I choose. I only see this problem with FF 3.6 (haven't been able to try newer ones yet), but things work fine in IE 8.

JQuery :: Opening A New HTML After An Animation?
Feb 27, 2011I want to click on a picture, have a shade slide across to "close" the image, then open a new html in the same window. I can do both independently, but the page opens off the <a> tag instead of any jquery I know to use, so the new page opens before any animation happens.

Oct 4, 2011I am trying to replicate the function that is on this page [URL] - where the links on the right open an external HTML page that activates a dialog window and the whole thing floats above the parent page. I've ripped apart the JS file but it goes beyond my understanding and has references to demo this and demo that - which isn't going to sit well with my existing code. I am trying to see if there is a simpler version of this function that doesn't require 155 lines of JS. I found the JS code to open an HTML page inside a DIV using ht e object ID method but it still acts like an iFrame and my dialog window is trapped inside, not floating above the parent page. I've even tried to use the CSS overflow: visible; but I'm sure there is more to it than that - especially since it didn't help ;) I can't use AJAX or PHP like many of the scripts I found use, so i has to be just like the page I gave as an example.

May 25, 2010I have a main page (gallery.asp, Ex.1) that loads, via jQuery ajax, another page (picture.asp, Ex.2)
It's all fine when I first open the "gallery.asp" page: the "picture.asp" page loads into the "test" div with the first record I want ('cause of the snippet marked as "// load first picture onLoad")
In my idea, clicking on the "#next" and "#prev" link (that, please notice, are in the "picture.asp" page - so they are ajax-loaded) should load "/picture.asp?iData=<%= nextRecord %>" and "/picture.asp?iData=<%= prevRecord %>" into "test" div respectively
But of course, nothing happens (no "next" or "prev" page is loaded, and I get no errors)

But--I'd like the slideshow to not only just run onmouseover, but also to not bevisible accept onmouseover: this way the div that contains the slideshow could have an altogether separate background image that is displayed when the slideshow isn't playing. If there's some kind of function that's built into the Cycle plugin that would achieve the sameeffect, that'd be even better

JQuery :: Accordion Will Click At First Tab And Close The Others Without Opening?
Nov 14, 2011I've managed to do that so when i click on the first tab it will close the other open tab.The problem i'm facing is when i click on the first tab that it supposedly will not open even if clicked.It does not open but from times to times when i click a lot of times , go out of the accordion and then bring the mouse again in and click just right at the bottom of the first tab(the one it cannot be opened) and the second it sometimes open the first tab!!!

May 8, 2009I have a long saving-process. In my Ajax-call I open the dialog with the beforeSend method.

This works fine. In the dialog, I display "Saving..." After the ajaxCall is succesfull I want to change the message and add a button "OK" to it.

But this won't work...Is it possible to change the dialog-content on the fly or is there another jQuery component to create this behavior?

JQuery :: Tabs: Opening Panels Within Another Panel
May 16, 2011i have it to where one of my tabs opens an external link within the panel. However, it lags a little bit. I use css sprites inside the panels and it literally takes a second for it to load when you hover your mouse over it. Also, when you use it in IE, it keeps a cookie, so when you click on another tab and come back to it, it shows the last panel you were on.
So, is there a way just to open another panel inside another panel?

JQuery :: Opening A Popup From A Existing Page?
Dec 8, 2010I have two questions. I have a html page has two "data-role=page" objects. When I open that page by clicking on a link, the second page is displayed rather than the first. If I add "rel=external" in the link, the first page shows up but the back button is missing. Is there any way to ensure the first page shows up and the back button is visible.
The second, how can I call $("#pageObject").dialog(). I tried this on a link, nothing happens. Can't I use I<a href="#pageObject" data-rel="dialog">Open dialog</a>. This does not seem to work for internal pages. Is there a method to open internal pages as popups?
