JQuery :: 2nd Trigger For Images Hover Function

I recently implemented the Image Cross Fade Transition [url] It works great, and I'm hoping to add to the code to enhance the functionality. Currently, if I hover over the image, it runs the cross fade transition, which I would like to keep. I have another div on the page that I would like to trigger the first instance when hovered over as well. Is there a good way to add this?

Here's what I'm using for the first instance:

JQuery :: Hover Function In Combination With For Loop?

Jan 21, 2009

I'm trying to write a function to set display of containers when hovering over another element.I have an unordered list with 5 list items each of which, when hovered, should trigger the display of a corresponding div.I can get each of the individual portions of this to function;i.e. the "hover function" on it's own, and the "for loop" on it's own. But when combined, my counting variable (when placed within the hover function, has a fixed value of "6" though the loop iterates the expected number of times "5".How do I pass the variable so that it will increment properly?

How To Use Hover Function To Stop Script

Oct 9, 2011

I am working on an image changer. I found that if I do a fadeout/fadein on an element and then try to do another fadeout/fadein on the same element it does not work so I put my fadeout/fadein inside a function and do all my work in the callback portion along with a call to self to make the function keep running in a loop. I just need to know how to incorporate the hover function to make the script stop while hovered over a specific element (will be one of 6 image divs).

Here is the code
Code:
$(document).ready(function() {
var newImage = 'img/1.jpg'; //starts the process with the first image (same as the one in css background-image)
imgreplace(newImage);
});
var files = new Array('img/1.jpg', 'img/2.jpg', 'img/3.jpg');
function imgreplace(newImage){
$("#imgbox").fadeOut(500, function(){
$(this).css('background-image' , 'url(' + newImage + ')').fadeIn(500);
var currImage = newImage; .....

I need to get the randomness fixed because it is still returning the same image sometimes but other than that it works. I just need to be able to hault the function on hover and let it restart where it left off when I move the mouse away. In the unhover section I will be adding code to place an overlay image and href link but I don't think that will be a problem if I can get the start/stop working with hover. Actually I'm hoping to set some variable and use it in my getNewImage function so the other images continue to change but getting the entire script to stop so all the images stop changing will be OK.

JQuery :: Plugin To Break Up An Append On Innerhtml?

Oct 29, 2011

Basically I return a very large table from ajax/json with like 5k-10k rows as a string. Then I append it to the document using jquery .append on .html. Both seem to be equally as fast (usually around 10 seconds or more) in adding it to the document.

Is there any approach using jquery to break up this large append/innerhtml so the browser doesn't freeze? The table is already built on the server into a large string.

JQuery :: Line Break In Html/css Code?

Jul 20, 2010

When I want to handle html/css code in js/jquery it seems that line breaks aren't allowed. This of course makes the code less readable. Is there a workaround to this or is it simply to accept?This doesn't work:

$("head").append("<style type='text/css'>
#table {table-layout: fixed;width:650px;text-align: left;border-collapse: collapse;}
</style>");

This works:

$("head").append("<style type='text/css'>#table {table-layout: fixed;width:650px;text-align: left;border-collapse: collapse;}</style>");

JQuery :: Word-break Css3 Property Not Passed By .css() / Solve This?

May 22, 2011

I'm working on a project where i have a div in which i dynamicaly load some text.

No problems yet.

Trouble is, the width and height of the div is limited.

So in order to show long words (over 16 characters long) i need to break up the words.

CSS3's new "word-break"-property enters the arena.

Now the real problem shows it's ugly face.

When passed by jQuery's .css()-function, no "word-break" appears in the HTML.

The problem seems to lie with jQuery, since it works on jsFiddle.[code]...

JQuery :: Lightbox Or PrettyPhoto Or Fancybox Break When Submitting Content With JEditable Plugin?

Sep 25, 2009

i have a site that uses a lightbox based image viewer and the jeditable plugin. basically my site has a photo gallery and below each gallery i have the option to set a caption to the photo.

i have done the caption using jeditable and i've also tried using the ajaxForm plugin for jquery to see if jeditable caused the problem. but whichever method i use, approximately 20% of the time a photo caption is submitted, if you then click on the photo to view full size using lightbox (so far i've used fancyBox, prettyPhoto and Lightbox itself, and all break in the same way) it gets stuck at "loading", whereby the overlay appears, the inital empty box and animated gif appear, but then it just spins forever and never loads the image, as if it cant access the URL. weirder still, the FIRST time i do a page refresh to try and fix the problem, it doesnt work (something in the cache i expect), but if i do a second refresh or a shift + refresh, it resets and works again. it's very difficult to eliminate all variables because the problem is so sporadic, but it seems that the most likely way of breaking lightbox is to do the following:

Page-break With Div

Jul 20, 2005

I'm using <DIV> tags to display some content with absolute positioning.
The content sometimes goes more than 1 page. So i would like to
have page break after 1 set of content is printed on a page. Its like this

<DIV id=A style="position:absolute; top:0px; left:0px; width:100px;
height:100px">
Item One
</DIV
--do the page break
<DIV id=A style="position:absolute; top:0px; left:0px; width:100px;
height:100px">
Item Two
</DIV

This should ensure that always the content is printed on the same position
but in new page. The problem is how to do the page-break.

How To Break Out Of An Iframe?

Jul 20, 2005

On a page I'm offering file download links which are each targeted to an
tiny 1-pixel X 1-pixel iframe on the same page. (If you care why, see
below.) Under certain conditions, I want to popup a window which is NOT
constrained within the iframe to which its creator page is targeted. But
since the download page is being targeted to the tiny iframe on the
application page, any popups or alerts I've tried creating from the download
page's code do not appear, presumably because they're being created inside
the "invisible" iframe.

Is there any method for asserting on a page that a window or alert should
NOT appear in the iframe to which the page was supposed to send its output?
I'm developing in ASP.NET, so can modify page HTML and Javascript just
before the page is sent to the browser.

The reason I'm targeting links to the tiny iframe is that when users select
a file for download, the standard Windows open / save / cancel dialog pops
up over the page they clicked rather than first opening a new "file
download" page. When download is complete and the dialog disappears the
original page remains ready for another user selection. The giant download
site tucows.com uses this technique. However if there's another way to get
this functionality I'm all ears!

1. User selects file for download on application page.

2. If no errors, standard Windows dialog pops up over application & download
proceeds without changing application page. When download completes, dialog
disappears and application page remains unchanged ready for further use.

3. If error, window or alert pops up over application. When closed,
application page remains unchanged ready for further use.

How To Break Out Of All Loops

Is it possible, when you have a loop in a loop, that when the inner loop reaches a certain point, it breaks out of both loops? For example:

[Code]....

The code above will break out of the (b=0;b<=10;b++) loop when b==5, but it will continue to do the a loop. not putting the first loop at all or making the first loop stop at 1): Is there a way to break out of both loops when the if condition is met? (I only ask that you not give a work-around because what I have in mind is much more complicated than this)

IE7/8 Break Effect When Using A .png

Sep 30, 2009

IE7/8 break effect when using a .png for the shadow under each colored block. The rest, including IE6 are fine with them. Note, IE6 has it's own problems, that I already fixed in my real page. Here is the test page >> Hover over the blocks in FX and now in IE7/8 >> Anyone see why IE is doing that to the shadow (i.e. blowing it up to ten times it's original size)?

If you take the comments out of the JS in the head section and use the full url .jpg one instead, then you will see that IE works just fine. It's only when using a .png that IE goes wrong. I guess if I have to I can try and make a jpg do in it's place, but it wont look as good, and I prefer not to.
