JQuery :: Go From One Page To Another With A Peel Effect?
Feb 9, 2010
I'm looking for a way to go from one page to another, with a peel effect. Not just a small peel effect to make a advert appear, but a full peel effect. When a user click a link, the current page roll, and a full new page appears, as if he was using a book.
Is it possible with jQuery ?

I'm kinda stuck with jQuery. I generally write code in PHP and do simple stuff with Javascript. But I need to make an effect on a module of my page.
[Code]...
Is this even possible? I don't want/can't preload random content and have it hidden. I could probably do this the simple way with js. Emptying the old content and replacing it with the new random content but I need the animation. I'll keep "decoding" the documentation while waiting for a response.

I am seeking to change the color attribute in my CSS file under the ID's #realmaturesingles and #seniorpeoplemeet upon the hovering of these links. These two ID's are initialized inside an <a> tag (these are links). How can I do this with JavaScript? This is what I tried:
Code:
<script type="text/javascript">
$('#seniorpeoplemeet').FontEffect({
gradient:true,
mirror:true,
mirrorColor:"#CCC"
})

I'm relatively new to jquery, and I'm attempting to implement a "Page Curl" effect (by Elliot Kember) on my BigCommerce storefront. Here is the plugin: [URL].
Here is my storefront: [URL]
I've got the jquery referenced in my HTMLHead.html page, and my scripts are all uploaded to my folder "/turn" on my site. However, I can't seem to find the right page for placement of my 'call function':
$(document).ready(function(){
$( '#target' ).fold();
});
And the 'element';
<img id="target" src="turn/code.png">
Am I placing these on the correct pages for a proper 'call' of the scripts? There are numerous pages referenced that make-up the HTMLHead.html page, and I'm finding a hard time trying to place the jquery plugin on the right pages.

Im having a bit of trouble with the bounce show effect from jquery ui. To see what I mean, check out my development site. Anytime you modify a part in this computer builder, the rigth side gets updated. Right now its removing and adding list items. Problem is when click items too fast, the animation doesnt finish and the next item gets bumped lower and lower.

I was wondering if jQuery or mootools has a set of scripts that creates a page slide effect with a stationary menu? What I mean is instead of loading a page when you click a link, all pages of the website are loaded at first, and then when a link is clicked, the corresponding page slides onto the screen. The navigation menu remains unchanged (except for dropdown menus) throughout everything. This is a perfect example of what I'm looking for: [URL] I tried to search for this but didn't come up with too many great results, and I searched the jQuery documentation and wasn't able to find a slider feature.

I need to have a series of divs fading in with different times and delay on page load.
Each div has an image that is on "display:none". When you go "hover" a div, his relative image fadeIn and stay there.
I've done that but the problem is that if you hover the div before it ends the "fadeIn" effect, his relative image will start to show up to. I want that the user can start the fadeIn effect of the image, only after the div has ended his effect.
This is my HTML test
<div id="immagine1">
<img src="images/image.png" alt="logo_key_css" width="169" height="53"/>
</div>
<div id="immagine2">
[Code].....
How can i "deactivate" the hover function till the ends of the fadeIn?

I've been doing some research on javascript's impact on the time it takes for a page to load, as defined by firebug's "Net" tab's "onload" demarcation (the red line). It seems that aside from dynamic data that's not part of the HTML, enabling javascript always slows down the page. I've checked wikipedia, yahoo, digg, even google; a javascript-enabled loading of each site shows a later onload() event compared to loading the same site without javascript enabled. My question: Can anyone think of a site that loads faster with javascript than it does without javascript?

I'm using LavaLamp [url] for the main navigation on a site I'm building, for a subtle animated effect.
The site itself is a single-page portfolio site with 3 sections organized vertically, "Home," "About," and "Work."
The problem I'm having is that the clicked navigation does not return to its original position on each panel if I double back on it.
For example, if I'm on the Home panel, and I want to get to About, I'll want to select "About." The LavaLamp animation will ease over to the "About" link on hover, and I'll click it, then the page will scroll to the About panel, where "About" in the navigation is being shown as selected (LavaLamp has a "current" class you can apply to whatever you want to start off as being selected)...
And that's great, BUT, say I want to get back to the Home panel. I click "Home" in the nav, and I'm transported back to the Home panel - but when I was there before, I'd selected "About", and since it's all on the same page, the link is focused on "About," even though I'm on the Home panel. Make sense?
I'm not good enough at JS or jQuery to figure out how to fix this. I think what I want to happen is for every link on each panel to STAY where it was originally assigned ("Home" link will stay on Home, "About" link will stay on About, etc.), but animate on hover only.
Is there a way to write something into the LavaLamp JS to make it so the animation works only on hover, and not on active, focus, or visited?
Here's the code, can't provide a demo page, I don't have anywhere to upload it at the moment...
index.htm with an example of what each panel looks like:
jquery.lavalamp.js:
And last but not least, the LavaLamp CSS:
Forgot to add the page js:
EDITED ALSO TO ADD: Could it have something to do with this:

I am using a javascript code to refresh a page.
<code>
window.location.href="";
</code>
this code refereshes the whole page and focus goes at the top of the page but I want the focus of the page at the same place where I perform refresh. Actually I am using AJAX to submit a form, a form opens through ajax request but I need to refresh the page to take the effect of the dynamic data, which is being saved,updated or deleted on the page. So is there any way where focus of the page remains there when I refreshed the page

I have a JQuery script that gives a neat effect on the navigation and want to include a simple fading slideshow on the same page.Any script I have tried for the slideshow either uses JQuery or Mootools and it conflicts with the navigation script.Can anyone recommend a smooth fading slideshow that wouldn't conflict or suggest how I can get around this. I read a bit about 'no conflict' but don't understand how to implement it.

All other browsers work fine, but IE 9 flickers on the rotating gallery on this dev site..This is the JS function primarily responsible for it.
Code:
this.fadeRotate = function(currentItem,className,firstTime){
var moduleClass = document.getElementsByClassName(className);
var moduleItemCount = moduleClass.length;
if(moduleItemCount != 1){
[Code]...
To narrow it down more, it only seems to happen when you mouse in and out of certain divs.

I have a question, I'm developing my own LightBox with jQuery, and I call 2 function, animate and fadeIn and both of them work with the same element, fadeIn also with 2 elements more, but this isn't problem. And fadeIn I call before animate and here is the issue, it starts animate this element by fadeIn and after it is done, start function animate. But in second part, I call it again, and the element, which I animate in both of them, can't animate by fadeIn because he is visible, so immediately start function animate.

I have gotten my script to do exactly what I want it to do with one exception. I have some thumbnail images that people can mouse over and the actual image is 100px by 75px. That is what I use for my thumbnail and they reside in www.website.com/images/thumbs/image1.jpg. I have the large version of the image that resides in www.website.com/images/image1.jpg. Its actual size is 640px by 480. When I mouse over my thumbnail, I don't want the thumbnail to appear for the larger image, I want the large image to appear instead? Let me know if you need ellaboration.

OnClick="$('#pdfbutton').slideUp();$('#onebuttonbase').slideUp();$('#pdfgreen').slideToggle()"
But I want the effects to trigger only when the previous has finished. And I'm not sure how to achieve this.

I'm doing, like usual, an amazing job of outstanding webdesign, suddenly I told my self. Let's try this piece of art in Firefox doesn't work! (In safari and chrome it's ok. I don't have it, but I bet that in IE doesn't work too!) I've made some tabs that are addressed to show some content when clicked; here is the script I've made:
$(document).ready(function () {
$('#zona1 .sez.active').fadeIn(0);
$('#schede li span.centro').click(function(){
var sezione = $(this).attr('id')
if (this.id != 'active') {
$('#schede li span.active').removeClass('active').parent().removeClass('active');
$(this).addClass('active');
$(this).siblings().addClass('active');
$(this).parent().addClass('active');
$('#zona1 .sez.active').fadeOut(400, entrata).removeClass('active');
function entrata (){
$(sezione).fadeIn(300).addClass('active')
};
};
});
});
If you want to have a look to the code and the page just click:
