Trying to get the draggable ui working with a multiple select field, but doesn't work. Does it actually work with option fields ?

it adds the ui-draggable class to the options fields, but they are not draggable :(
Run the following on a select field but only works when I remove the multiple="multiple"

I have this code, and I was wondering if it is possible to make the select boxes appear AFTER you select the field before.
Is it possible to have a draggable div that will only be draggable between certain coordinates? in other words create a window through which the draggable div is visible and draggable. Would you use a stop drag when cursor hits a certain point? my div is a map and will be about 2000px by 2000px and want to have a fixed position and size of 500px by 500px so that that is all the user will see or be able to interact with. I know in image slider plugins that the divs scroll to the side or up and down through what appears to be a window so it should be possible?

I'm not much of a programmer so I've difficulties getting the yellow windows at the following web address: [url] to drag and collapse correctly. Currently, the only window that works is the one with the red header. All the other windows should also be draggable and be allowed to close down.

what i want to do is have a selection from 'tst' trigger an input into 'choose' from the data inputted into the 'fname' and 'lname' fields. for example, i want option '1', when selected to draw the input from 'fname' and place it into 'choose'or i might want to select the data in 'lname' instead, so i will tie option 2 to it, so when the user selects option 2 the contents of 'lname' go into 'choose' instead.
We have a list of items that each has a different quantity available. So I am going to create a multiple select menu, where they can select several different items. I have found a problem with <select multiple="multiple"> and .change() under ie6. The problem is ie6 fires first change event right after any other event, like selecting again, clicking mouse, pressing a key etc. It is perfectly seen on [URL]... Just click any option in demo, nothing will happen.
If i put a handler using plain DOM, i.e. $("select").get(0).onchange = function() { ... } the problem dissapears. So, it's definitely a bug with jquery. JQuery version 1.4.2.
So before I used jQuery I had this approach to set select field as not selected. So the question is what would be the equivalent way to do it in jQuery?

i am trying to pass text from one select box to another select box. The logic is if 10 are added, no more passing must happen. Also if an item is already added, it mustn't be added again.I am using the for loop to check the existence of an item but it is not working: what am i doing wrong?

why isn't counter incrementing at all? The alert message box does appear saying item exists but the item gets added anyway.

I have a form where a user may select a box from above which will query the database and autofill in the fields. This works properly for all of my input text fields but I have a select box where a user selects their state that I am unable to get to properly populate.
The select box is populated on page load in the following format....

Everything populates correctly except where I try to set the val on the state select field. It does not change at all. I need it to display the statename with the value of the state (number).
I'm not sure if my term usage is correct, but using a select form field with various options. I would like that when an option is selected, a php query is performed, and the rest of the form is updated according to the selection based query.

multiple select is not displaying .....
I've got a <select> with the multiple attribute on and then I got some jQuery doing some functions when one of the options is selected. Currently my code looks like this
