If I click any of these, I get a "Loading" message and nothing more. The page seems to freeze. The button freezes in a blue color. Is there something wrong with my syntax?

So far I have figured the best way around this is to have a GIF as a background image that says the loading message, and then once the slideshow loads over the top its fine, however im guessing this is'nt the right way to do this. My site gallery loads everything before it appears, and sometimes it can take a while. So I want to add a "loading..." message of some kind. I only want it to show once during the original load, not for each image. Here's a link to the gallery:

I have a site that is very jQuery and image heavy. The main sections of the site link to sections that are built with several Tabs, and as it loads, you briefly see all the content load and then it is hidden by the Tabs code.
The plan is to have a full window DIV that sits above all the content with a loading icon that plays until the entire page loads, and then it fades down.
After some hair pulling and research I have code in place that does exactly as I ask, however it does not seem to work in IE6+7. It works in all other browsers.

I have this loading.gif image that is 750px, when it should be 32px. The reason it's huge now is because my original solution was displaying two images: one 750px version of the loading.gif image and one 32px version (in the center of the 750px) of the same image. Now I'm at least down to one image, even if it's the wrong version.Click any of the thumbnail images here, and then again on the thumbnail at the top of that popup product gallery to see what I mean: need that huge loading.gif to be 32px like it should be, and then expand to 750px once the image is loaded. I am new to Jquery and am having trouble. I want a button on a modal form to open up another modal form but for some reason it isn't happening. I have only started to learn HTML, CSS, and Javascript (roughly 2 weeks now). I am having a issues regarding when I submit form data to the server. I want to temporarily disable the 'submit' button while the browser is loading and then reactivate it once everything has finished loading. This was my attempt at doing this.

Im trying to add some simple display features to a web application and am running into some unexpected IE8 behavior. Basically, the app runs some database retrieval from the server using Ajax techniques, and during that time (say, 30 seconds), I want to just give the user a clue as to whats going on. It could be as simple as a wait cursor. More interesting, I prefer to unhide a div with an animated loading icon, then hide it again when loading is complete.

I have a lot of javascript functions that request information from an iframe hidden on the page. I see other sites do this, but their browser does not do the loading action (like the processing circle in Firefox). When I do it on my site, each browser shows the loading icon, as if a page was loading. Is it possible to not have this?

I have a classified listing application (php) that shows an alert message on the main page to let the user know if there was an error, if the listing was entered, if a required field was left blank, etc.
the simple jquery code is:

the alert msg. displays whenever the page is loaded. However, if someone navigates with the forward or back buttons in the browser, or reloads the page, the alert message displays again.
I am pulling my hair out for a solution that shows the alert only once and then does not show an alert again until a new message is generated.

I want the error messages to appear below the text boxes, not to the right. I have my own text after some of my text boxes and with the default settings the error appears between the text box and my text. Looks weird that way. I'd rather have the errors below each element. I tried with the below but didn't get anywhere. I want ALL errors below. Not sure what to do.
