I am creating a preview window that loads up on mouse hover. The problem I am having that the javascript there overwrites everything written before and after the script.

Using the jQuery SVG plugin, is it possible to load a large .svg and then only draw certain parts on an as needed basis? For example, if you have an outline of all U.S. states but the user only wants to see a certain state. Taking their input, you draw just those lines that are needed.
If this is possible, please point me in the right direction or provide some example code. I am currently using: $('#fp').svg({loadURL: '../rockwell-working2-merged.svg'}); Which displays the entire svg.
I've site that is divided into two frames
Frame 1 Frame 2

At the first frame reside my site content.
At the second frame I'm hosting other (random) site from the net.
the question is:
How do I ** add ** code into the other site html document in order to add it
functionality that I need?
I'd like to do to do something similar as document.write() but instead of creating a new document,I would like to write inisde a div. What I have is a variable with the name of a url that the client has given me from a prompt. And now I want to write that as a link inside the div.
View 10 Replies View RelatedI have small issue with the below javascript code. I am trying to create a button which copies the text of one field into another text area. This works fine at the moment but now I want to copy the text into the textarea instead of overwrite the value which was entered previously.

<body>
Field1: <input type="text" id="field1" value="Hello World!" />

<textarea name="suggestions" rows="5" cols="25" id="field2">
What's the best way to wrap all the nodes between two nodes in DIV tags? Is it possible with the DOM? I have code similar to the following:
HTML Code:
<h3>First header</h3>
<p>First paragraph</p>
<p>Second paragraph</p>

How can I achieve this with the DOM, without resorting to doing something like a string replace?
Consider following html code
<p id="oliver">
<a id="oliver1" href="/oliver1/">Oliver Twist 1</a>
<a id="oliver2" href="/oliver2/">Oliver Twist 2</a>
<a id="oliver3" href="/oliver3/">Oliver Twist 3</a>
<a id="oliver4" href="/oliver4/">Oliver Twist 4</a>
</p>

Why are anchor nodes pointing to href and text nodes pointing to [object]? As anchor and text both are objects therefore all outputs from indices 0 to 7 should be [object].
What I wanted to do is to link to a new page having a date range input in the form of 6 text boxes, 2 sets of mm-dd-yy, from and to, where the upon loading the page box 1 of the from would auto focus and then auto tab and then post where php could take over on the server side. Setting up the form and the lay out, no problem. Auto focusing went just like expected using the following code, included because on the next step everything fell apart.

<script type="text/javascript" >
window.onload=function() {
document.getElementById("input1").focus();

I'm sure I'm missing something basic, but I can't seem to find what I'm looking for. If I have an xml doc where the parent node and child nodes contain elements with the same name ("name" in this case), how would I go about just getting the client's name? Here is a slimmed down version of the structure:
<client>
<name></name>
<url></url>

I have the following code:
$(document).ready(function()

I'm using jquery file tree and was wondering if anyone knew how one would go about expanding the first nodes upon load?[URL]...

This is the first question I couldn't find answered by Google! No doubt the answer is out there, but...
So I have a function that is being passed an array of nodes: some of them plain vanilla DOM nodes, (say, those created by document.createElement), others are jQuery nodes (say $("<div></div>").
What's the best way to determine if a node is of each type? I can obviously look at the node contents, but I wondered if there was a "best practices" here?

Anyone got any tips on how to find out if the last letter of my label is 'F'?
Is it possible create a tree structure with 20000 nodes and it should load fast.

View 4 Replies View RelatedSay I have a tree view
Item1
SubItem1
Element1
Element2

When I do a search in the browser (Ctl+F)(with Item2 collapsed) on Element1 the search stops on Item1|Subitem1|Element1 then Item1|Subitem2|Element1. If continue searching it does not find Item2|Subitem2|Element1.
Is there a way for the search to even find collapsed items?
I have two methods and I would like to call somename1 method from within somename2 method. I have tried several ways to do so however I keep getting "TypeError" or "RefernceError" I have tried several ways to reference but I am still unable. What am I doing wrong. I would think this would be easy to do.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm having trouble reading a not-so-large local XML file. The following code works fine for under 70 nodes:
// load values from the xml file
$.get('dic.xml', function(dicXml){
$('node', dicXml).each(function(){
var literal = $(this).find('literal').text();

I have created two onClick events that i need to combine into one with jQuery. I have an unordered list:
Code:
<ul id="coverTabs">
<li class="currentTab"><a href="#">Individual</a></li>
<li><a href="#">Couple</a></li>
[code].....
So the active tab is set in the HTML to Individual by default.The following jQuery sets the active depending on which one is clicked.
Code:
$('ul#coverTabs > li').live('click', function() {
// Clickable tabs
// Removes default class applied in HTML and onClick adds 'currentTab' class
[code]....
what i want to achieve is when a user clicks a tab we call the XML document. The appropriate tab name is fetched and subsequently when a user clicks on a column under that tab the appropriate level cost data is displayed on the page.
I'm trying to validate a newly typed value in the textbox instead of the existing value it has when the page load, unfortunately, whenever I get the .val() I kept getting the existing value in the text box instead of the newly typed value.

Buenas noches dudes and dudettes,
I'm a total jquery noob, so this is probably very easy for you:
I've got a couple of selectboxes on my page, all with the IDselFunction1,selFunction2 and so on...
I want to create a new select box next to the preexisting selectbox if a certain value is selected, let's say "beaver".
How do i do this?
What makes this easy is I'm trying to replicate an existing website: BT's Personal Site
The menu of Packages / Phone, etc is very nice. Not only does the menu auto scroll, but also reacts to mouseover in a lovely manner (thereafter going back to auto scroll if there is no user input).
I've spent the afternoon going through all of JQuery's plugin library but I couldn't find something similar. I found individual scripts that I could use to mirror the auto rotate, but that meant integrating the rollover wouldn't work. Anyone got ideas on how to implement this?
A pre-existing script would be great if there is one(!) Otherwise, real simple advice as I'm a bit of a noob to jQuery. If there is no pre-existing script or the alterations will take a bit of effort, I'm happy to compensate if there is an expert for hire (depending on rates obviously!)
