JQuery :: Animate An Object While At The Same Time Fading It In?
Feb 23, 2011
I wonder if its possible to animate an Object while at the same time fading it in. At this moment I am able to do it after each other but not at the same time.
I am trying to have text that is placed over an image cross fade into another image with text placed over it. I am using jquery and the images are cross fading perfectly. The text isn't working so well and in Firefox it seems to be very choppy and even sometimes the text just disappears and then there is a blank slide without any text or the text is showing up on the wrong image. Here is the code I have so far:
HTML Code: <div id="slides"> <div class="slide"> <img src="_images/placeholder3.jpg" width="695" height="195" alt="A Passion for Service" /> <div class="slideText"> <h1>And A Different Heading</h1> <p>With the appropriate solution for each client, we provide biomedical engineering and information technology services to suit your needs.</p> [Code]...
I am new to jquery and am going through the Sitepoint book "JQuery: Novice to Ninja. I am using the crossfade code from the book and I tried to apply it to the text as well.
Working on some jquery examples which use the same div id name multi times in a document. I notice only the first div id with the same name animate and the others don't. I would like all of the header id names to animate not one.
I'm using the Timers plugin to do a count down timer.I would like to enhance my UI by having the numbering being counted down transition from black to red as it gets closer to 0.The jQuery UI demo for animate seems to be what I need, but what I'm having trouble figuring out is how to have it transition gracefully over time. It seems like the animation is a one-shot deal.
I don't know why but after the animate() function it's like all the properties get wiped. PHP Code: bubble.prototype.expand = function() { var _this = this; this.mLeft = parseInt($(this.div).css('margin-left').split('px')[0]); this.mTop = parseInt($(this.div).css('margin-top').split('px')[0]); this.iWidth = $(this.iconImg).width();//icons dimensions this.iHeight = $(this.iconImg).height(); .....
I have a toggle animation which puts the area I want to show to the user in view, ones that animation has played I want to animate several other objects on the page. I have the code to animate one object by using the callback function in animate. But is it possible to animate several objects in the callback function?. this is the code I have so far
F.e I have div which id is someDiv and input text which id is someInput - and how to do that value of input object will display in DIV in real time? If i type letter "a" in input, it should automatically display in DIV. Which function should I use?
I use the wonderful .animate() method to create a "parallax website". It's still in developpement, but you can see the result : www.ohnewgarden.fr My problem : When you are at the very right, the animate effect reset my left property before animating. Which is weird is that this "reset" is applied only to two layers, without any sense. I'm going crazy !
So if someone could help me, it will be very nice ! It's probably my code which is wrong, but I can't see the mistake.
[Code]...
I said for my defense, I have tried to remove .stop(), tried to change parameters of .stop(), tried to reset (like there) the left property with a .css() method, and I have also tried to animate with "+=" (like there), but nothing works. If you follow to the link I gave, you could see very easily by clicking on "Contact" and after animation by clicking on "Accueil".
I have a question about what the most certain method to obtain the correct UTC time in javascript is.On my forum, there is a countdown clock, that should show the same amount, wherever the user is located. I use UTC in javascript to get the current time, but I have trouble getting consistent results.I have tried two methods:Method 1:
Code: var d = new Date(); var localTime = d.getTime();
I was wondering if it is true that the Date object gets its date from the user's local time, if so, could the user "hack" the time by adjusting his local time?
I am facing issue in below code for Brisilia time zone.(GMT-3). Issue comes in October month only. It is going tobig loop. I am not getting how Date object is behaving here.
I have a div that has a negative top margin and a negative right margin. The right margin is because I want to have the div slide onto the page from the right. The top margin is because without it my page height is the height of the visible elements plus the height of the off-screen div.On a button click, I move the div down and then animate it onto the screen from the right. On button click again, I animate the div to the right, off the screen, and then move it up. I also toggle its width & padding so it will appear to grow/shrink as it moves on/off screen. At least that's what I am trying to do. The animation onto the screen looks good, but going off the screen, it appears to happen intantaneously, instead of animatedDoes anyone know how I can fix this?
$(".addPanels").live("click", function(){//now and in the future, show the add panels menu var thisAddPanelsMenu = $(this).parent().prev(".addPanelsMenu");//get the addPanelsMenu if(thisAddPanelsMenu.length) {//if the addPanelsMenu exists
I have a problem and I just cannot figure out what is wrong. I want to show news on a page and to fade them in. I am using jQuery AJAX to pull out the news from a MySQL database. Here is the code (I will explain what the exact problem is in the code):
I'm looking voor the right syntax to fade in a div. So far I only found syntaxes that deal with button actions but I just want to fade in the div after a few seconds. How do I set that up? Switch off visibility with css and then?
i have a problem with fading things in and out using jquery. Please check it out.THe problem is that sometimes the fading in happens before the fading out. What can be done to fix it?
I would like to have an background-image fading effect, like a slideshow, but i dont know, if its possible or not... I thought that it would be possible: an array with the urls, a timer and the fading effect, but i dont know the most common way...
I have a photo blog [url] and want to create an effect that fades-in the displayed picture when the page is loaded.
An important requirement for me would be that the page also has to work without Javascript.
Currently I am using the following small plugin:
It is called directly beneath the <img> element:
This way it works fine with the current versions of Firefox and IE. I did not test other browsers or versions yet. I tried to call it in $(document).ready but then IE might display the picture shortly before it is hidden and faded-in.
Since I am not 100% happy with having the code in the middle of the HTML and with depending on the timing of execution to avoid flickering I wanted to ask for other solution or best practices to achieve what I would like to do.
One solution that came to my mind is to do create the image in JScript and only fade it in after it is loaded. To work without Javascript I could still put the <img> element where it was but within a <noscript> element. But not sure how well the <noscript> is supported by older or exotic browsers.
I have a div box on a page that had 6 images absolutely positioned in it. When the page loads I want the whole box to fade in at once or in some kind of order. I've been trying just to fade everything in at once using this:[code]And that it does nothing. The CSS for the box is just this: #leader{position:relative; height: 400px;How hard or were would I need to start if I were to try and fade each of them in starting at different times?
