JQuery :: Animate Left And Fade In At Same Time?
Aug 23, 2010
I'm trying to get a div to slide left and fade in at the same time.I'm using this to move the div left:
$(document).ready(function() {
$("#pagetitle").animate({left:'-=300px'},1000);
});
However, if I add opacity, it fades from 100% to the number that I specify. If I use fadein as:
$(document).ready(function() {
$('#pagetitle').fadeIn(1000);
$("#pagetitle").animate({left:'-=300px'},1000);
});
If I do that, it fades in and then moves left.How do I do both at the same time?

I need some help achieving an effect.
<span>SOME TEXT</span>
First part, move "SOME TEXT" left 20px and fade to 0 at the same time. Easy enough.Second part, repeat the same effect half way through the first part is done and the starting point is left 20px.So I would need to create the first effect. Half way through the first effect the second effect starts but it has a different starting point.

I'm using jquery.animate() to scroll a certain DIV out of my screen at the top. Now I want that same DIV to fade out when it reaches a position which is 150px from the top (so before actually sliding off the screen). How do I achieve this? The code I have for the animation itself is as follows:
$('#slideAway').animate({
marginTop:'0px',
top:'-50%',
}, 1000);

I am trying to use jquery to animate a fade in on a dropdown menu for a website I am developing. The menu works correctly if I have the script turned off but when it is on it is very close to functioning properly basically it just fades in the UL on rollover but I am getting some weird effects. The script doesn't work on the first rollover and sometimes the menu doesn't fade in at all on rollover. I'd love some help on this. You can see the site here. [url]
This is the jquery
The rest of the code is too long to post here. Please pull it from the site.

am new to javascript and indeed jquery but I have muddled a page together here but want to stop the left and right links at the bottom animating over my "contents" div's bounds so it doesn't slide past the edges of my div either way. Can i do this or am i barking up the wrong tree? Hopefully you will understand, I don't know if i am explaining myself correctly, but if you have a look at the page and press "Right" twice you will see what i mean, I don't want it to go any further than the end (red) or indeed further past than the start (green).
My Code:
Code:

I'm using the Timers plugin to do a count down timer.I would like to enhance my UI by having the numbering being counted down transition from black to red as it gets closer to 0.The jQuery UI demo for animate seems to be what I need, but what I'm having trouble figuring out is how to have it transition gracefully over time. It seems like the animation is a one-shot deal.

Is it possible to fade in and move an object at the same time with jquery. I've got a div that I want to execute both actions to when the page loads. So far the fade doesn't seem to want to work though. Do I need to specify something in the css to make it invisible at the start or is there something wrong with my syntax?
$(document).ready(function(){
$("#think")
.animate({
left: '+=500',

I want to fade in an element after a set amount of time. I've been messing with this snippet but I'm certain my logic/syntax is wrong.
Code JavaScript:
$(function(){
window.setTimeout('fadeImage()', 9000);
function fadeImage(){
$('#tag').fadeIn(4000);
}
});

I'm currently doing on a project, frankly speaking i'm new in javascript only know the basics. I'm not even sure whether this thread is suppose to be here or under html.. I'm suppose to create some codes that enable a html page to load to the next html page when the mouse move from left to right within a specific time and distance(positive X coordinate) and also the other way round (right to left) once i figured out this. I've got an example online and edited it. Please take a look at my codes.
[Code]...
test01.html is just blank page created to make sure it loads. However i would like to load from test01 to another html page but no matter how i tried to edit the codes, there's errors. I cant possibly copying and pasting the exact codes to every page i want to load to right? And is it possible to sortof increase mouse sentivity such that i can most probably load to the next page in first few tries of moving the mouse on the first page. Is it common that when i launch the html on IE and Firefox somehow after showing the first page for maybe 1 second, it immediately jumped to 2nd page and i have to go back to 1st page to try out.

I intend to start learning JS over the Xmas holidays, but right now I only have a very basic knowledge of it.I was just wondering if someone could point me in the right direction on how to do this, as I think i should be pretty easy.After someone changes something in the admin area [e.g. the position of an item] I want to be able to have a small div display at the top of the screen saying something like "Position Updated!" and then have it fade away after 2-3 seconds.

This is a really awesome script that I'm sure all of you can put to use if you haven't yet heard of it. However, I'm trying to get it to fade a background image on my css styled navigation for my a:hover. Here is the script with a little simple tutorial on how to set it up: [URL] My only other knowledge is in PHP, so after about 2 hours of fail in this client-side language
This is the link to my site so far: [URL] You can see the script working as it is on my little yellow MW logo on the right side of the navigation. So in my scenario, I am looking to fade button.png to button-hover.png (both repeating on the x axis).

I have a gallery style page with rectangular images on laid out like a grid of nine. When the user looks at the page there is just the images and no information, but when they hover over the image I would like some text and a bar underneath to show up over the top so the user can read some information.my images sit in "a" tags. There is also a div tag in there which has it's z-index and position (absolute) set up so that it sits over the top of the image element in the "a" tag. stripped down e.g.
<a href="#"><img.... /><div>the info</div></a>
I need the div tag withinin the "a" tag to be set to 0 opacity. When the user hovers over the image the div tag slowly fades in to 100% opacity. Once the user moves the mouse away from the image the div tag slowly disappears again.I need each one to work independently so that it only changes the one currently being hovered over.

I'm having problems with my text appearing aliased and turning blue when it fades in and out. I've tried using the Newsticker plugin and the Easyticker plugin, and I'm getting the same result in IE7 and Firefox 3.6. I'm using jQuery 1.2.6-min Specifying a background color doesn't fix it. The examples on the plugin websites look fine, but when I try and implement the effect myself, my orange text becomes aliased and fades to a light blue color before dipping to white. Same thing happens on the fade in. attached is a screenshot of what I'm seeing.

I use the wonderful .animate() method to create a "parallax website". It's still in developpement, but you can see the result : www.ohnewgarden.fr My problem : When you are at the very right, the animate effect reset my left property before animating. Which is weird is that this "reset" is applied only to two layers, without any sense. I'm going crazy !
So if someone could help me, it will be very nice ! It's probably my code which is wrong, but I can't see the mistake.
[Code]...
I said for my defense, I have tried to remove .stop(), tried to change parameters of .stop(), tried to reset (like there) the left property with a .css() method, and I have also tried to animate with "+=" (like there), but nothing works. If you follow to the link I gave, you could see very easily by clicking on "Contact" and after animation by clicking on "Accueil".
