How might I go about getting the parsed JSON object in the complete function? The json param shown below seems to just receive the http status text message.
My 2nd question would be how should I knwo if the first place what params I can receive to a callback function like this?
Im currently creating a textbox with an AJAX auto-complete feature but have reached a wall. I can create a div below it with a list of results but now need to allow the user to select. I can setup it up with an onClick, easy. But I need help with the arrow buttons as that is how I would like it to function. The script only allows 5 results at a time with each having an id of 0 to 4. Each result is a div, below is this code (created by PHP):
There is a JS file attached to the page this is echoed onto, so what would the code need to be on both the div (mouseup, mousedown...) and then the function that calls.
like theres two pages.page one calls page two and displays the output of page 2 on page 1 via ajax.now can i click on page 2's output(on page one) and have it execute another javascript function to call AJAX(a third page)
I'm not sure if this is a php issue or jquery issue. When I complete the form and hit submit it puts the successful message up like its supposed to but also with the fields still filled in the form which it shouldn't be doing and it doesn't actually post in the database so I'm not sure if its a php issue or jquery issue.
I'm using the Google AJAX APIs, but some reason google.load works when run through normal javascript, but if I call the method from my jquery ready function it doesn't work. Code and output is below
window.loadFirebugConsole is not a function If I comment out line 3 in code.js, the console debug runs okay, so the ready function is running okay. Even though there's a reference to Firebug, the same error occurs in Safari too. Nothing on the page loads.
I have what I think is a simple $.ajax() call.I added complete and error functions but a time out in firefox 3.5.2 doesn't cause the error function to be called and when the complete function is called both parameters are undefined.If I make the ajax call return a http 500 response the error function is called.[code]Running on FF 3.5.2, JQuery 1.6.2 on XP Pro.
I have verified that the server is returning valid json. My jsonpCallback is called, but neither the success nor the error callbacks are. I'm stumped by this.
I've got an ajax prefilter which defines a success, an error, and a complete function callback onto the jXHR object. During a successful ajax response I first his the success function callback (as expected), and if I throw an error from within this callback I hit the error callback (again, as expected). However, at this point I would assume my complete callback would be called, yet it never is. I ran a sanity test by issuing an ajax request to an undefined URL, which throws a 404, and it triggered my error callback and then my complete callback as expected.
I'm trying to create a two-part animation: On mouseenter over a thumbnail image, the background area expands. Then, once the background has reached full size, I add a class to the text content so that it gets displayed.My problem is that the text content only displays sometimes and I can't determine why this is the case other than that it has something to do with the callback. If you roll over the thumbnails, sometimes you see some text information below the image and sometimes you don't. Why? You should always see that text information.
i have this type ofsituationin my code, now many time function three is called before first and second complete execution.i want third to wait until first and second finish execution, dont want to use delay
I'm using jquery-1.4.2 with PHP. I have a grid of records with a link to a form i'd like to use to edit the row with. The form is built using php, and works as expected when called just using a regular html link.
When the form is called using $(".ajax").click(function(event), the form comes up, but the textarea(s) are messed up; <textarea>Stuff for the text area
I have a function that sends some data to a PHP file for processing, and call a page refresh after that, but it's not working. This is what I have so far:
function Reload() {location.reload() ;} function del(v,m,f){ $.post("system/reject.php", {id: v}) ; javascript:parent.mainFrame.document.location.reload(); }
The function Reload is something else I tried while trying to get it to work but everything I have done so far doesn't work. :(
I want to run a function only if it has been called from lets say another function, is there an event handler for that? I dont want to call the function on document.ready since it will load without being called?
for example, the below function is run when page loads, how do I just run it only when I call it directly, say from another function..
I have a slogan that is supposed be animated so that one part slides onto the screen, followed by the other part. My understanding of the 'callback function' parameter on the .animate() function is that it's not supposed to execute until the animation is finished. The trouble is, the two functions seem to be executing at the same time (that is, the two parts of the slogan appear on the screen at the same time.) Here is my code:
$(document).ready(function() { // hide slogan text $('#slogan_1').css('left','270px'); $('#slogan_2').css('top','75px');});
I am trying to get my head around this AJAX/JS problem with IE where I am getting visitor info like cookie, ip, URL, referrer, user agent and sending it to an external domain where my database is storing all the stats for the client. In short something like Google Analytics does. My script is working fine in Firefox and chrome so far but getting "Access Denied" error on http.open() in IE. I did try derelict's method but I guess I am missing something and same thing happens in IE without error. It is not sending the data to external domain. I am sure many of you have tried and make it worked but I am not able to get it working. I have another option where I can add a php or asp file and use cURL to send the value but I want to make it simple like GA as there may be many clients with different servers and might not possible to add additional pages.
Code: //This is processJS.shtml page to use PHP within JS var guestID=getCookie('guestID'); if (guestID==null || guestID=="") { setCookie('guestID',"-1",365); } var guestID=getCookie('guestID'); var siteurl = '<!--#echo var="HTTP_HOST"-->'; var ip = '<!--#echo var="REMOTE_ADDR"-->'; var agent = '<!--#echo var="HTTP_USER_AGENT"-->'; var page = document.URL; var ref = document.referrer; var clientID = '123'; // clientID will be different for each client .....
I have a text input field - a search box. As characters are entered, I use AJAX to retrieve a list of matches from my products table and display them in a simple unordered list below the search box.This works great, until the user clicks one of the matches.Because I have set the onblur event of the search box to hide the autocomplete box, when the search box loses focus as a result of one of the links in the autocomplete box being clicked, the autocomplete box is hidden and the link is not activated.How can I get the links to work, and also have the autocomplete options disappear when the search box loses focus?
I've tried many many thing to make this autocomplete work with multiple input fields.. please , can any one tell me how to do it? the full script attached , also the html source code is here.This is the html code with javascript that I need to add another input fields on [code]
I can't seem to get the syntax correct to get this to work. I'm sure it is something simple.I want to call multiple functions inside my document.ready function.The first function gets called but not the second.
$(document).ready( function GetSuspectCollection() { $.ajax({[code].....
I'm trying to make a time script for an app I'm making (this is not an HTML document; it's a .js file to be used with Titanium) however I'm having trouble getting the function to display and update.
function updateClock() { setInterval ( 'kiTime()', 1000 ); } function kiTime () { //Get current date and time [Code]...
If I use kiTime() under the text field I will get the current time (or at least the time the app was opened), however if I call updateClock() it's blank.
Got a problem with the $.get() function on my site..
[Code].....
tunchecked is a checkbox that should call a php function called finishtask. the reload and preventdefault works but not the actual calling of the function.. it works in IE (8), Opera (10.5) but not in Chrome, Firefox(latest) or Safari.
I'm using the uploadify jQuery plugin from here: [url] & am having some problems.
Everything is working correctly but the uploadifyUpload() function doesn't appear to be triggering. It is not accessing the add_list.php script whatsoever.
Here is my code from my header..
Code:
It correctly shows an alert box with "Correct" so I know it's getting in there to run it, but it just isn't running.
Shouldn't need to see this, but here is the errorCheck() function if interested..
Code:
Lastly this is the HTML code that calls it.. stripped out a lot of uneeded code for clarity.
