JQuery :: Using .load On Submit?
Sep 16, 2011
I'd like to check the inputs in form using a jQuery call to a php script. Before I do that, I'm setting up a simple test page, but I'm missing something becaue it doesn't work! The code is below; as far as I can see, I'm calling 'checkOrders' when the form is submitted. ajax_checkorders.php is loaded and it's content should replace the existing content in the div. When I click submit, nothing happens at all.
<html>
<head>
<title>
Test
</title>

When I load my page I am using the .load() function to load a section of HTML from another .html file into the current page, as follows:
$(document).ready(function() {
$('#login_js').load('_HTMLCodeLibrary.html #loginform');
On the very next line I am attempting to bind a submit event handler to the form:
$('#loginform').submit(function() {
$.post('member.php', $(this).serialize(), function(data, status) {
data = eval('(' + data + ')');
if (data.msg) {
[Code].....
The form is loading fine, but for some reason the submit() is not getting attached to the form. Therefore when I submit it is running member.php from the form "action". Ultimately, I want to be able to run member.php from $.post() so that I can tell member.php that JavaScript is enabled.

I need to set up a form that once submitted opens a window thats 550x400.
The form needs to be validated first however. I used an onClick event on the submit button but that opens the window regardless whether a user filled it out or not.

In the following .submit function, I am attempting to grab the value of the selected option in the facilityCodes dropdown list when I click the submit button and then during the submit function,select the facilityCode again in the dropdown list when the page reloads and then disable the list so that the user cannot change it.However,the situation is when I reload the page after the submit button is clicked the dropdown defaults to the first option and the list is enabled.I apparently am not understanding how.submit works so that I'm selecting the option I'm defining in my code below and then disabling the list AFTER the page reloads due to an error on the page. My question is how can I accomplish this?Here is my code:
$(function() {
$("#ARTransferForm").submit(function() {
var msgsCount = 0;[code]....

I have a DOM loaded from a remote site, i cannot alter that page. The DOM has a input:submit in the form that looks something like this:
<FORM NAME="frm1" METHOD="POST" ACTION="ServletController;jsessionid=72CDF83C126FFF9D87821CE9E9B9E860.fre01" onSubmit="return checkFormSubmit();">
<input type="hidden" name="mode" value="apply">
<input type="submit" name="Apply" value="Apply" onClick="return applyClicked();">
</FORM>
I need to replace the default ACTION with an ajax post with the current form data, but I also need to keep the:onClick="return applyClicked(); here is what works, however I cannot get the return applyClicked() to prevent the submit if it is false.

I have a page with many forms that I need to change from a post to an ajax call. That part is working, no problem, but now I want to disable the submit button while it's waiting on the server response and then re-enable it when the response comes back.
Here's what I have:
$(function() {
$('form').each(function() {
$(this).submit(function(){
[code]...
I can't figure out what my selector should be to get the submit button of the form that's being submitted. What should I be using instead? Also, if the call errors out, I'd like to just post the form as usual.

I have a question about load(). I created a php script that simply returns <img src="something.jpg" class="myimage">
To test I created this code, the image loads fine and the mouseover works fine showing the alert dialog :
However, my trouble seems to be that if I bind mouseover to the class "myimage" nothing happens, like so :
Seems that the document would load the html first then the mouseover bound to the class (myimage) would fire off.

The code is supposed to generate this: PS: This is generated by a PHP Function that the Ajax Load Method Calls.
[Code]...
I've been noticing a lot of problems when loading these stuff, Sometimes I have to remake the HTML Tags because its not showing anything. Is there any option? I want it to load EXACTLY how it is, I don't know if this is some kind of protection for bad code, but if it is I would like to disable. But also, this code is really clean. no problem, I don't know.

Is it faster/more beneficial to have two snippets of code be generated by php at 2 different urls and then have a load function for each url? Or have the two snippets on one page, surrounded by id's and then load them that way?

The content does not get rendered properly, i am not sure whether this load function is supposed to handle this, but is there any other way to load a pdf inside a div?

Is there a way to load more than one html fragment using .load()? That is, I want my homepage to pull in multiple pages of content into the main page so that I can create a one-page site that slides vertically.
An example of what I've got is
$(document).ready(function(){
$('#footer').load('about.html #content');
$('#footer').load('locations.html #content');
$('#footer').load('contact.html #content');
});
Which of course only loads the first about.html page's #content into the #footer of the home page.

I have a page that contains 15 tabs. When each tab is pressed, it calls a function that uses .load() to load that tab. In my initial testing, all seems to go smoothly (loading in less than a second). However, once you click about 10 tabs, the pages start to load slower, and by click 13, it takes more than 30 seconds to load.If you refresh the page this process starts over and the outcome is the same (by click 12-13 it is unusable). Below is the code. FYI the reload_timer was an attempt to reload the page if the query was taking more than 10 seconds It didn't work. I left it in for feedback in case I don't find a suitable solution to the actual issue.
