JQuery :: URL Alteration For Onclick Elements?

May 9, 2011

I'm using the below code on some links to load html pages into the main page on click:

<a
id="
b1-e1
" onclick
="javascript:$('#viewPict').fadeIn('slow').load('pict/b1-e1.html');"
>Bla bla</a>

This is good to use on a static html page to load a bunch of images in a portfolio without having to change the page, but it eliminates any sort of unique url for the links. All one can do is to link to the original page, but that page only contains a picture and some text. So there is no point to it without the theme of the main page.

I was wondering if it was possible to somehow attach the id to the url ( like [URL]), so that every page can be loaded on default with a request.

Timer Countdown Function Alteration - Call Infinite Number?

Sep 25, 2010

What this function does is countdown the value of an HTML table-cell to zero (minus 1 every second) then stop counting that specific cell when it's finished. This works perfectly, the problem is that when it is called AGAIN for a different table-cell, the previous cell starts reducing its value by 2 every second instead of 1. This function supports the Hour:Minuteecond format. So, how would I make this function so that I can call an infinite number of different table cells, and the previous table cells timers would not be affected (they would still countdown 1 per second as they should)?

This is the code which CALLS the function, where $i is 1-5 inclusive, defined by PHP:
timer('ff".$i."', ". rand(1,100) .");
This is the BODY of the function itself, called by the above command
var running = new Array(50);
function timer(data, id){
//clearTimeout(id[data]);
var id=new Array(50);
// usage: var id=new Array(50); timer('cq0');
dat=document.getElementById(data);
var time=(dat.innerHTML).split(":");
var done=0;
if(dat.innerHTML == null) {
done = 1;
alert('null');
} if (time[2]>0) time[2]--;
else {
time[2]=59;
if (time[1]>0) time[1]--;
else {
time[1]=59;
if (time[0]>0) time[0]--;
else {
clearTimeout(id[data]);
done=1;
running[data] = 0;
renderStack();
}}}
if (!done){
dat.innerHTML=time[0]+":"+time[1]+":"+time[2];
id[data]=setTimeout("timer('"+data+"')", 1000);
running[data] = 1;
}}

Get Li Elements Id Onclick?

Aug 18, 2011

I tried Event target and it alerts the id of the li element clicked well but it can't do anything with the id of the li element after you get it. Also you can only get one ul at a time. I classed the uls I want and used getElementsByClassName with iObj index loop but get alert ''undefined" when I click on any of the li elements in any of the uls with the same class. This is what I have so far.

Changing Elements In Page "onclick" With IFrames?

Jul 19, 2010

I'm new to this forum and am trying to find answers to a few issues I've been having. I'm building a website for my music (I'm a novice with web design so bear with me) and I'm having trouble with this page - [URL]...

As you can see, when you click on the "Filter By" buttons, the relevant gallery opens in the iFrame and the Titles (such as Latest Photos and Live Photos) are altered onclick by using the changeText function. The problem with this is that when I use the browser "Back" button, the iFrame goes back, but the "changeText" doesn't go with it.

So I've been trying to find solutions to this. Someone on another forum suggested hiding the album titles in a hidden element on each gallery page, and the title in when you click on the Filter By buttons. They suggested first putting some code such as: <input type="hidden" name="AlbumTitle" value="Live Photos">

JQuery :: Show / Hide Elements Or Remove / Add Elements Based On Radio Selection By User?

Mar 14, 2010

I have a page I am working and I am having some trouble with: I need to show and hide areas based on a radio selection. I initally started using the show / hide feature in Jquery but the problem is the elements need to be removed but then put back if the user selects the radio buttonagain as it has form elements that have validaion on them. The validation is still trying to validate the form elements becuase they are still on the page but just not showing. This is the radio group the user makes the selection from:

<input name="terms_usr" type="radio" id="terms_usr_1" value="1"/>
<label for="terms_usr_1">Credit Card</label>
<input type="radio" name="terms_usr" id="terms_usr_2" value="2"/>

Make An Onclick Event Change The Document.onclick ?

Sep 4, 2010

I want to make it so that when I click on something, it changes what document.onclick does.

This is a simplified version of what I'm trying to do:

Code:
<div id="clickme" onclick="document.onclick = function(){ alert ('This should not be alerted on the first click'); }">Click here</div>

However, as you'll notice, the alert box shows up on the first click as well. The only way I have been able to get around this behaviour is to have the first onclick execute a timer that will then set the document.onclick after 1ms, however this seems very messy to me.

Converting HTML Elements Stored Within XML To Usage Js Elements?

Jun 3, 2010

I have HTML tags stored in XML. I want to be able to use these HTML elements with Javascript, just as you can with elements in document.body. How can it be done? (And don't try and tell me I should use server-side because I have written it all for Javascript and the project is nearly complete minus this and there are practical reasons for not doing this server-side. After all, anything is possible with Javascript!)

Let me explain:

- I have HTML templates such as this [URL]

- I want javascript to populate these templates then add them to my page

- The only way I know javascript can get this kind of data is by parsing XML

- I want to parse the XML then be able to use the HTML elements just like those in document.body

- As far as I'm aware, XML is the only good way of storing data for javascript. I don't want to store it in javascript variables (too much multiline data with " and '). Nor do I want to build it using document.createElement("div")... etc

As someone not yet with any experience in computer science etc, please ignore my poor terminology! However, I'm not a beginner when it comes to javascript.

Here's the script concerned but I doubt it'll help you understand my problem: [URL]

OnClick In TR Conflicting With A Onclick

Aug 31, 2007

I have the following sample code and when I click the a href link it pops up both windows.

HTML4Strict Code:
<tr false;" style="cursor:pointer">    <td>Some data</td>    <td>More date</td>    <td><a href="thatlink.html" false;">Details</a></td></tr>

In other words - linking the link that should open up 'thatlink.html' opens up that window first followed by the 'thislink.html' window in the table row onclick call.

JQuery :: Don't Use Onclick?

Am I wrong to say you should never use onclick in an element as this would be contrary to the purpose of using jQuery which means onclick would totally bind mark-up to javascript? So it would not be unobtrusive in that case.[URL]...

my function looks like this:

JQuery :: Nav Bar - Menus Appear / Disappear OnClick

I have a nav bar, each link in it activates/triggers a megamenu (each link has its own megamenu). I need a way to have each link activate its own megamenu, the megamenu should close when:
1. The user clicks on another item in the nav bar.
2. The user clicks on the same item in the nav bar.
3. The user clicks on a 'close button' (X) graphic inside the megamenu (not shown in the HTML for simplicity sake).
