JQuery :: Tabs Library Setup - Search Current Selected DIV
Jul 18, 2010
I'm using this jQuery tabs library that uses this simple set up...
<!-- the tabs -->
<ul class="tabs">
<li><a href="#">Tab 1</a></li>
<li><a href="#">Tab 2</a></li>
<li><a href="#">Tab 3</a></li>
</ul>
<!-- tab "panes" -->
<div class="panes">
<div>pane 1 content</div>
<div>pane 2 content</div>
<div>pane 3 content</div>
</div>
So clicking tab 1 loads the contents of the first DIV, tab 2 second DIV, etc. I have a different image map that loads into each of the separate DIVs. I have set up a search box that allows me to enter a value that matches an ALT value of one of the <area> tags and then using the scrollTo library, scrolls to that value using the coordinates provided in the <area> tag. Currently I have this working when I manually enter the DIV's class into the script:
var id = $('#search').val();
var elem = document.getElementById(id);
if (elem) {
var parts = $(elem).attr('coords').split(',');
parts = $.map(parts, parseInt);
$('div.fms1').scrollTo({ left:parts[0], top:parts[2] }, {duration:1000, axis:'x'});
}});
</script>
I'm trying to figure out how I can set up the search box to search the currently loaded DIV which is loaded depending on which tab is selected. I tried the following unsuccessfully:
$('div.'+$(this)).scrollTo({ left:parts[0], top:parts[2] }, {duration:1000, axis:'x'});
My table columns are sorted by the Tablekit library [URL]. The user can click the columns to toggle the sort order either ascendingly or descendingly. I can save the current sort order (preference) in the server. After the page is refreshed, the web page is sorted by the original sort order. How to make the Tablekit library to sort with the current sort order after page refresh? My web page column is: <th class="sortfirstdesc" id="urgency" onClick="reverseOrder($sortdesc)">ID</th>
I have 6 tabs. Each one of them contain many elements with class 'column' I'd like to know, when a tab is selected, how many such elements in that selected tab. no matter how I tried, it gives me the right count on the first one selected and start incrementing them for all subsequent selected. $('#columns > .column').length;
I've been trying to get some Ajax functionality on my rails app and have been stuck on this issue for a couple days... (new to jQuery!). My app has a form on the top of my site that acts as a search. When a user submits the form, they are redirected to a "search_users" page.
Rather than redirecting to a "search_users" page, I want the "search_users" page to load in a div called "page" on current page.. I was able to do this with my sites navigation (so when a person clicks on "home" or "about" or "contact me", nothing refreshes except a div called "pages") but not for the search form.
I am using GreaseMonkey to load jQuery 1.3.2 (there is a bug with the latest version of jquery and GM) and jQuery UI 1.8.0.I am using jQuery via GM to manipulate the GUI of a content management system. This CMS uses its own JS library to dynamically add stuff to the dom.
Question:How can I target a dom element that was added to the dom via this other JS lib?In other words, the CMS will add a div to the dom, and I am not sure how to tell jquery to wait for these elements to "be there" before applying the jquery goodness. Specifically, I would like to do this:
$(function() { $('#zen1227').resizable(); });
But "#zen1227" does not "appear" until later via this other JS library.
I am java developer using jquery tabs in my project.I have terrible problem with jquery tabs. when i am in second tab and submit the form,tabs are reloading and first tab selected by default, but i have to be in the second tab.
I'm trying to get the hover over image selected based on the current page. I've used an external jquery.url.js library to access file and href information. The if statement is reached correctly, but I can't get the code within it to work. Each image is stored within an anchor and, as with the hover code (included), I'm trying to change the end of its source file name from '_off'to '_on' so it's active.
I need to make a search box to enable the user to search for a text string on the current page. All the sources I've checked are concerned with searching the web, or tying into Google, etc.
I have a project to do for a kind of business directory and while I already have it designed I'm stuck on one aspect of it. As it stands, you select a category and then get the results in a nice little invisible table with colored rows. Now, I can create any table I want through the use of a hidden Javascript function that contains the information (No, I'm not worried about updates) and then creates the table.
The problem I have is this. If someone changes the category or puts in a partial name or full name, how can I delete the currently displayed results and then show only the results for the new search? And how can I do this consistently? The problem I have almost sounds like a problem that should be solved using PHP but it doesn't sound so complicated that it couldn't be done in javascript either.
I'm not sure if this is the correct place to post this question. If it isn't, please let me know where I should post it.I created a simple content slider with each link directed to a section on the same page. The menu I'm using is straightforward:
A Form has 2 select lists. The size of the 1st select list is 4 which means that at any given time, 4 options will be visible to users & the size of the 2nd select list is 1.
When an option is selected in the 2nd select list, the Form gets posted. Under such circumstances, I want the 1st select list to maintain its state i.e. the option that the user had selected just before posting the Form in the 1st select list should remain selected after the Form posts. I have taken care of this using ASP but there's a petty problem.
Assume that the 1st select list has 30 options & a user selects the 15th option. When the Form posts after selecting an option in the 2nd select list, the 15th option in the 1st select list remains selected but it's not viewable to the user. In order to view the selected option in the 1st select list (which is the 15th option in this case), the user has to scroll down the 1st select list.
Now how do I ensure that the user need not scroll down the 1st select list to view the option he had selected after the page posts i.e. after the Form posts, the selected option in the 1st select list should behave as if it is the default selected option in the 1st select list?
I've created the simple select box below that will "onchange" when an item is selected. I'm trying to apply the "selected" or "selected="selected" attribute to items that are chosen from the menu. Example: The goal is to show " <option value="/1" selected="selected"> " when page "/1" is chosen and to show <option value="/1"> when /1 is not the current page. I've follow a few simple tutorials with no luck and even tried php conditionals to trigger the "selected" attribute with no luck.
I'm having trouble figuring out exactly how to write the confirmation/validation for the card expiration choices compared to the current date. I have the month and year choices in selection menus, as opposed to text boxes. Code:
I have a small script which adds a class to the current menu item selected.
Currently on the page load (this menu is within one page) the first menu item which is loaded does not have this .mywork_active class. Its not until you click it or another item that the class is added.
What would I need to do make the script add this class to the first item on load.
what can be the reasons for the same code which works perfectly in notepad to not show its result in a jsp application done using eclipse??anything to do with settings?
I am not able to display the current date as default in dd/mm/yyyy format in drop down menu..only dd and yyyy apears but month isnt apearing as default..
can u suggest alternative logic and its code to implement the same??
I'm having issues with jquery and the tabs I'm using. My tabs work but... I want some more functions and that seems to be a big problem for a Javascript and jquery newby.
I really don't know if this is correct but it works! What doesn't work is the active class. If you use one of the buttons in the first tab you go to the right tab but the tab itself has no class called active and that ruins the style.
2) I also have one other question: lets say that all the above is my second page and I have my frontpage in which I also have buttons. I want somebody to use the button and end up in the third tab of page 2. My link is something like
Code: page2.html#tab3
I read that using this should lead you the third tab but it's not working for me. You go to the first tab of page 2 instead.
I've been reading a LOT! Jquery for dummies, I googled, read the forum and other forums. I posted on a Dutch forum but no answer. I've added a lot of different code but it doesn't work.
I have nested tabs in jquery tabs which are pretty simple to do if we want static jquery tabsbut what if we want nested tabs that the remote page should decide what would be the tabs.or in other words i want nested tabs in a remote page (or ajaxified) For example i m calling this page(remote page) through tabs
I am using jQuery tabs and when I have very long content within the tabs, my browsers scroll bar reflects the content in the tab with the most content.
Example, "Tab 1" & "Tab 3" has a very long scroll bar, even though it has no content (because of Tab 2) and you can scroll down through the empty space
[URL]
Is there a way I can hide the content in Tab 2 so that my browsers scroll bar displays correctly in relation to the content in the active tab?
I have a search field on the website, and when I type a word to search, it search good, but after preforming the search, the search term from search text field disappears and become the default 'Search' word.
How can I make search term stay in search field after preforming a search ? For example, when I type into the search field 'JavaScript' I want that term to stay in search field and after the search is done.
I'm having trouble figuring out why content isn't showing up on the 2nd and 3rd tabs of a tabbed content section embedded on a page. The content shows fine for the first tab but not at all for 2 and 3.
Page of tabbed content is [URL].. It's an OsCommerce site using STS Templates for the pages. Here's the code:
I just started to learn jQuery. I downloaded the book "Learning jQuery, 3rd edition" and tried the very first program. My program consist of just HTML page, a CSS file and javascript file. I made a folder MyFirstJQueryPage and put all my files inside it.I also downloaded the jQuery file named "jquery-1.6.4.min" and renamed it to jquery and put it in the folder where my all files are present.
[Code]...
Now please tell me that what i am doing wrong in my program. Why the code in the external javascript file isn't working.
Is there a way to edit the following show hide set up to allow for initial div to be open. So for example instead of nothing coming up, #video1 would initially load and then when you click on li links it would load a new div in as coded replacing the initial video for example, if you clicked video 2 or 3 thumbnails?
HTML= <ul id="brightCove"> <li onclick="javascript:doShowHide('video1');"> <a href="javascript://">video 1 thumbnail here</a> </li> <li onclick="javascript:doShowHide('video2');"> <a href="javascript://">video 2 thumbnail here</a> </ul><div class=showhide" id="video1"> content for video 1 </div> <div class="showhide" id="video2"> content for video 2 </div>
JS $(document).ready(function() { // Add ID of New Category in line below separated by Commas $("#video1,#video2").hide(); }); doShowHide = function(idstr) { $("div.showhide:visible").each(function () { if (this.id != idstr) $(this).hide("fast"); }); $("div.showhide#"+idstr).show("fast"); }
I have just setup jeditable for a text area and this works fine however when I activate / click on the text area to bring up the editor, the content is filled with br tags (example below). How to convert the br tags into tags before it is displayed?
