View Current Selected Option

Apr 27, 2007

A Form has 2 select lists. The size of the 1st select list is 4 which means that at any given time, 4 options will be visible to users & the size of the 2nd select list is 1.

When an option is selected in the 2nd select list, the Form gets posted. Under such circumstances, I want the 1st select list to maintain its state i.e. the option that the user had selected just before posting the Form in the 1st select list should remain selected after the Form posts. I have taken care of this using ASP but there's a petty problem.

Assume that the 1st select list has 30 options & a user selects the 15th option. When the Form posts after selecting an option in the 2nd select list, the 15th option in the 1st select list remains selected but it's not viewable to the user. In order to view the selected option in the 1st select list (which is the 15th option in this case), the user has to scroll down the 1st select list.

Now how do I ensure that the user need not scroll down the 1st select list to view the option he had selected after the page posts i.e. after the Form posts, the selected option in the 1st select list should behave as if it is the default selected option in the 1st select list?

Disable Right Click And View Page Source Option?

Jun 17, 2011

I'll make this short and simple.

1. Disable right-click in my webpage,

2. Disable "View Page Source" option.

I've seen point no.1 implied in many websites, but haven't seen point no.2 anywhere.

JQuery :: Hover Over Image Selected On Current Page?

Dec 18, 2010

I'm trying to get the hover over image selected based on the current page. I've used an external jquery.url.js library to access file and href information. The if statement is reached correctly, but I can't get the code within it to work. Each image is stored within an anchor and, as with the hover code (included), I'm trying to change the end of its source file name from '_off'to '_on' so it's active.

$(function () {
$("img.rollover").hover(
function () {
this.src = this.src.replace("_off", "_on");
},
function () {
this.src = this.src.replace("_on", "_off");
});
$page = jQuery.url.attr("file");
$('#menu tr td a').each(function () {
var $href = $(this).attr('href');
if ($href == $page) {
$("img", this).src.replace("_off", "_on");
}});

Apply Selected Attribute To Current Select Box Item

Feb 9, 2010

I've created the simple select box below that will "onchange" when an item is selected. I'm trying to apply the "selected" or "selected="selected" attribute to items that are chosen from the menu. Example: The goal is to show " <option value="/1" selected="selected"> " when page "/1" is chosen and to show <option value="/1"> when /1 is not the current page. I've follow a few simple tutorials with no luck and even tried php conditionals to trigger the "selected" attribute with no luck.

<form name="guideform" method="get">
<select class="wptdb_jumpbar_select" name="mymenu" onChange="window.location=document.guideform.mymenu.options[document.guideform.mymenu.selectedIndex].value">
<option value="/1">Home Page #1</option>
<option value="/2">Home Page #2</option>
<option value="/3">Home Page #3</option>
<option value="/4">Home Page #4</option>
</select>
</form>

Onmouseover With Selected <option>?

Apr 19, 2010

Basically, I have a <select> drop down with a bunch of <option>s, each with an onmouseover command. The problem is that if I click on one of the options, it loses its mouseover effect. Here's the code:

Code:
<select>
<option onmouseover="tooltip('Some stuff')">Blah</option>
<option onmouseover="tooltip('Some more stuff')">More blah</option>
<option onmouseover="tooltip('Even more stuff')">Blah blah blah</option>
</select>

The tooltip() function creates a basic tooltip. While the drop-down menu is open, the onmouseover functions work just fine. It's when the option has been selected that it stops working.

JQuery :: Tabs Library Setup - Search Current Selected DIV

Jul 18, 2010

I'm using this jQuery tabs library that uses this simple set up...
<!-- the tabs -->
<ul class="tabs">
<li><a href="#">Tab 1</a></li>
<li><a href="#">Tab 2</a></li>
<li><a href="#">Tab 3</a></li>
</ul>
<!-- tab "panes" -->
<div class="panes">
<div>pane 1 content</div>
<div>pane 2 content</div>
<div>pane 3 content</div>
</div>

So clicking tab 1 loads the contents of the first DIV, tab 2 second DIV, etc. I have a different image map that loads into each of the separate DIVs. I have set up a search box that allows me to enter a value that matches an ALT value of one of the <area> tags and then using the scrollTo library, scrolls to that value using the coordinates provided in the <area> tag. Currently I have this working when I manually enter the DIV's class into the script:

<div>
<input id="search" name="targetId" value="" />
<button type="button" id="searchButton" name="searchButton">Search</button>
</div>
<script type="text/javascript">
$('#searchButton').click(function(){

var id = $('#search').val();
var elem = document.getElementById(id);
if (elem) {
var parts = $(elem).attr('coords').split(',');
parts = $.map(parts, parseInt);
$('div.fms1').scrollTo({ left:parts[0], top:parts[2] }, {duration:1000, axis:'x'});
}});
</script>

I'm trying to figure out how I can set up the search box to search the currently loaded DIV which is loaded depending on which tab is selected. I tried the following unsuccessfully:
$('div.'+$(this)).scrollTo({ left:parts[0], top:parts[2] }, {duration:1000, axis:'x'});

Dynamic Option Selected Value From Form

Nov 30, 2009

Here is my options select from my form. Its dynamically generated with php.
Code:
<select id="upgrade[]" name="upgrade[0]" onchange="javascript:calTotal(this);">
<option value="1">1</option><option value="2">2</option>

<select id="upgrade[]" name="upgrade[1]" onchange="javascript:calTotal(this);">

</select><br />
<select id="upgrade[]" name="upgrade[2]" onchange="javascript:calTotal(this);">
<option value="1">1</option><option value="2">2</option>
</select><br />

Using javascript I want to get the selected value. Here is what I have, but its getting no where:
Code:
function calTotal(aVar)
{
var c = document.getElementsByName(aVar);
c = c.length ? c : [c];
for(var i=0; i<c.length; ++i)
{
if(c[i].value==1)//I am getting undefined here
{
}
}
Is there a way to loop through an array of option selected like the one I have here?
