JQuery :: Stop An Animation From Repeating Over And Over, Blinking?
Oct 19, 2010
each time I hover on #demo, the piece of code below works, but it will not stop doing it even if I'm not on hover, it is like it will repeat the process all the times I hovered and didn't have time to repeat it.
I have applied the fadeIn() and fadeOut() effects to a li>ul in my html, but if the user leaves the ul briefly then re-enters it before it has finished fading out, the ul fades back in again. This can happen many times over by accident and it's very annoying.
If the user leaves the ul I want it to fadeOut() and NOT fadeIn() again until the user re-enters the parent li element.Is there a way of ensuring this? I have done a quick search for while and if/then/else functions but haven't been getting anywhere. This is what I have, very simple indeed:
Whenever the mouse enters block1, an animation is started.
Now when I move the mouse from block1 to block2, the first animation needs to stop and the animation for block2 needs to start.
So I have a function:
and then:
The problem is now, as soon as the mouse leaves block1, the animation stops for a second before it starts the animation triggered by mouseenter into block2.
What I need is a smooth transition with no stop of the animation. Is there a way to realize that with jquery?
$('div#left').click(function() { // carousel position var carouselPosition = $('div#carousel').position();[code]....
So what's happening is that I have a number of images (width: 321px) sitting next to each other in a wide div (div#carousel). When I click on div#left the whole thing moves... left. A similar function makes everything go right. As the number of images is finite, I have conditionals to stop when we get to either of the ends.This works fine except if someone clicks like crazy... animations get queued and the whole thing moves beyond the edges.I have tried to solve this with:
1. stop: great, except that the animation stops in mid-action and I end up with images parrtially in sight,
2. clearQueue: doesn't manage to stop too many animations getting triggered,
3. delay: fine with a long delay, but this is no good for my visitors.
Combinations of the above with different parameters didn't work either
It works fine but the problem is, if I move the mouse over and over the DIV-Containers the animations runs, and runs, and runs.I think, each time I move over the DIV, the animation is going to the Queue and runs that often. I want it to stop after the .mouseleave animation is finished, so that it runs just on time..
I have no previous programing experience so I find myself struggling with even adapting tutorial made navigation to my needs... Anyway, I have this 3 state/sprite/jquery navigation bar, in two(2!) versions, got them by using 2 different tutorials. And neither one does exactly what I want...[code]...
I am having a terrible problem with animation build up.have searched and found various codes to stop,but can't implement in the .js in a way that works.
var droplinemenu={ arrowimage: {classname: 'downarrowclass', src: 'down.gif', leftpadding: 5}, //customize down arrow image animateduration: {over: 200, out: 600}, //duration of slide in/ out animation, in milliseconds[code].....
I have an animation that I want to animate in from the right side of the screen and I have it moving in fine, but I can't figure out how to get it to stop. I tried using setTimeout but cant get it to stop.
I created an accordion menu with rollover sub menus. My question is there a way to stop the rollover effect in the sub menus until the accordion animation is finished? When I click on a category link on the accordion the sub menu links flashes until the animation is done.
I never have done, such a thing, I need some code in javascript alone with html, first red color flashes 2 times, then green color flashes (blinks) 2 times, and so on. The size of the colors maybe around 2 X 2 inches.
Is there a way to change the shape of the 'blinking I-bar' inside a textbox to an "_" (underscore). I'm simulating the DOS environment using DHTML and the command prompt has a borderless text box with black background where the user can type the commands. It looks very much like our usual DOS command prompt except that the blinking cursor is an I-bar instead of the DOS '_' cursor!
I have a button which is animated with a rollover effect, obtained through jQuery of course. I wish to open a lightbox clicking that button and I tried with a simple, self-made lightbox and with FancyBox but in either case the lightbox is displayed without animation.I post the code for my buttons and the lightboxHTML for buttons:
It is a beginners problem I'm sure but I'm making a menu and when hovered, the submenu appear. However, when moving the mouse the submenu keeps fading in and out a few times. Why? Can I stop the function from repeating itself over and over? [code]...
i am making a request using Ajax (JQuery) and it keeps repeating the request, it almost seems like it is inside a loop even though it is not inside a loop.
I have an xml with nested repeatingentries. I want to parse it using jquery, I have tried .find methodbut it ignores the child parent relation and consider all as child nodesI want to parse it inhierarchy like first it should show top level categories then if have nested categories and then if have products and so on.
I'm using mouseenter and mouseleave to call a slideToggle on a dropdown menu. What's bothering me though is if my mouse moves in and out of the menu a few times before the toggle animation is complete and replays the open close a few times before stopping. [URL]... Is there a way to kill the queue so that it doesn't play if the mouse is not over it anymore?
I want to repeat 3 .html file in every page of my site. (header.html, footer.html and navigation.html), I read something about php's include() function. but I like to use JQuery's .ajax() or get() function. How can I do that?
How do I use jQuery to determine which textbox control is being clicked and then show the div that relates to that TextBox? Again, both the textbox along with the div=command are all repeating. It could repeat more than just twice as showing in the example above. I need the jQuery to only show the div=command that the user has clicked on the TextBox for commenting.
