I'm trying to set a width of a span class based on the width of the image inside of it. I've got a container that will also have a bunch of images... some of them will have captions and will be wrapped in a class "caption"... some will not be wrapped in the "caption" class. I'm trying to loop through the container... find all the "caption" classes... and then set the width of the caption class based on the width of the image inside of it. Here's what a basic image with a caption will look like:

I'm able to look through the containing div and locate all the images and then get their width using the following:

I can't figure out how to loop through and find all the instances of "caption" and then set the width of the "caption" class based on the
width of the image inside of it.I can find all the "caption" classes... and I can find all the images and get the image widths... but I'm not sure how to combine these two so I am only finding the images inside of the "caption" class and then setting the "caption" class width based on the width of the image inside of it. The images are added by a separate content developer and can be any size. Not all images will have captions... only the ones wrapped in the "caption" class.

It's basically just a table containing a message, who wrote it and when.I'm trying to build a function that filters what types of posts are visible in the newsfeed. So by clicking a button I want to be able to filter out the "message"-post or the "sale-alert"-post.Only way I can see which type of post it is, is by looking at the image source in the table. So depending on what that is, I want to set the table to display:none.
But I've been looking into the jquery selector a bit but I can't make it work. I've tried with .each(function and child selector...
How does one cause a form element to appear ONLY if a certain form selection is made before it?
That is for example say there is a form element of type Radio called "format" so only if they select format value = normal then the form input fields called URL and Name are to appear as the next choices otherwise form input field Group and checklist Places are to appear as the next choices.

Is there a way to select the 'a' tags to match the div based on its number (ie. 'aclass1' with 'divclass1' and aclass2 with divclass2)? For example something like this:

I have two text fields one is TECH field and another is JOB NUMBER... If I type a number in the tech field and If I select a number from the autopopulated/autosuggested list of tech number(which is queried from the database) it should display a dropdown list of JOBNUMBERS associated to that particular TECH number. I would like to grab the onChange value of a select box which is inside a <td> and pass it to the next <td> and place it in a <span>
My php iterates multiple table rows with select boxes and a line total span.
I want it to work similar too..
But of course that wont work because the span is not inside the select.
Is there a way of grabbing an elements parent element then the next element in the order and its contents.
