JQuery :: Screen Scrape - Code Does 3 Run-through Each And Every Time And Results In 2 New Fields Not One
Jan 5, 2011
I have the following code which screen scrapes a page (e.g. [url]) and inserts a new field if certain conditions are met (viz. the first ISSN line read meets the "peerreviewed = 'Y'" criteria). However, the code does 3 run-throughs each and every time and results in 2 new fields, not one, being inserted if the conditions are met.
The javascript served banner is moved from #apple1 to #targetplace. Some times the banner is displayed on both places. Are two page impressions counted for this one page the banner is displayed? Executes the browser the javascript once or each time the javascript is moved?
we use sage crm which has a back end sql database and a web front end which is a combination of html and java script.on a particular screen we have 24 numeric fields, these have names / IDs which are flq_glh1flq_glh2flq_glh3.... and so oni would like to total these 24 fields and display the result in another numeric field called total_glh
How to get a number to update realtime on a site? What I'm looking for is used on the following website: New & Used Cars For Sale - Arnold Clark The number with the top vehicle search update when a user makes any of the selections in the form. I think I know how to get the number to update via php and mysql queries on the db but how can I get the effect where the number rolls to the newly updated total?
I want to create a javascript that will have two butterflies flying across the screen at the same time. One will go from the bottom left to the top right and the other will go from the top left to the bottom right. I have the first part of the code, but can't figure out how to get the second part of the code. I know I need to add another variable, but after that i get confused.
I am using jquery validation plugin successfully to validate certain fields against my server. The thing is sometimes user types too fast, and the validation plugin sends the word if not equal to the previously sent word. This causes some problems with my mod-evasive that I run in apache. Is there anyway to slow down these requests, or say post to server each 300ms. The jquery UI autosuggest has this feature, where you can set a delay time.
I have a basic html form with some text input fields and a couple drop down selection lists. Our employees print the form and include it with items they need our shipping department to ship for them. The form uses the following verification script to ensure the required fields have been populated before the screen prints. It works exactly as desired in Safari and Firefox. In Internet Explorer, however, the selections made in the drop down lists are reset to the default values on the printed form.
Before you respond with, "don't use Internet Explorer," you have to understand that Internet Explorer is our only corporate approved web browser because it is the only browser supported by some of our other "mission critical" third party web apps and because it can be more rigorously controlled using Group Policies than Safari, Firefox, Chrome, Opera, et al, can. How to make the form print without resetting the drop down list selections? :confused:
<script language="javascript"> function verify() { var themessage = "You must provide the following information"; if (document.shipment.SenderName.value == "") { themessage = themessage + ", Sender Name"; } .....
I'm looking for a script or applet that will allow users to search by zipcode or selected category for results. I would like something already built so I can just customize it to our needs. I'm sure it will need to have a database setup for it to work which I am fine with doing. I can modify scripts and files but I have no idea where to start with this from scratch.
We also use the same data for our "Layar" app for the iphone and driod phones. Has anyone messed with layar scripting and databases? We are using hoopala now which makes data entry simple but we cannot modify their database to add category options. It would be nice to find an alternative to hoopala so we could use one database for both the layar app and the zipcode/category search on our site.
I have a page here [URL] I can add the rows now dynmically. My problem when submit I want the locations to be selected and the location cant be same. I have put this <select class='required' but is not workning either too. Secondly I want to make sure the dwell time column is fields in hour:minute format.
I've run into a roadblock I just can't seem to get past. I'm developing a website for work (internal) and I have a lot of javascript calculations going on when someone enters data. What I want to do is to have a div apear when it begins calculating and goes away when it ends. I'm using:
// CSS code div.loading-invisible{ display: none; } div.loading-visible { display: block; ... various formatting here ... } // Javascript function calculate(evalForm) { document.getElementById("loading").className = "loading-visible"; [Code]...
It works great in firefox. The div display appropriately, calculates, then disappears when it's finished. However, in IE it seems to want to calculate everything before anything is displayed. I placed alerts in the code to be able to pause it mid way and it worked. But without alerts it just hangs while everything is being calculated and the code for the loading screen just seems to cancel itself out. I attempted to put some waits in the code such as:
I have this snippet of code which sends alright the ID to a page called SendIdToDatabase.php . I need to send that also, and simultaenously to another page called SubmitForm.php but I am not sure where to insert it in this code
<script type = "text/javascript"
[Code].....
and then underneath the other one something like
function YetAnotherFunction(str) { $("submitForm.php").html(str); }
It checks the field "interest_contacts and the sets by submit button to visible if it's "No". I want to check a 2nd field at same time so I tried this, but it didn't work. What's wrong with my syntax?:
I made this function to duplicate form elements with a little html-code surrounding the input fields. First i clone the html of the first child found (always gets rendered by php). Then, everytime the add-button is pushed, i append a cloned piece of that stored html. It's working fine except for the delete button.
It's seems that whenever a cloned html is removed, the other cloned elements aren't recognized anymore by the delete buttons (although the delete buttons are in them)
The simple test code below validates a few fields successfully when tested using Safari, Opera, Firefox and ChromeDatepicker does not work in IE, although the validations do work as expected. Is there an issue with datepicker and IE? Is there a condition in my code that inhibits IE?
//// page code follows //// <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd">
I wrote this code but it only works every other click So it doesn't work the first time it's called, but it does the 2nd time etc.Zero errors reported. What's wrong? javascript Code:
I have a page in HTML and inside of the page there is a php code to refer a field that must get data from the some table and in the same time i want to validate this field using JavaScript but until now didn't work.
I am building some JS and would like to share my limitation. This is the code: Code JavaScript: <script language = "Javascript"> function onComposeSubmit() { var formDOMObj = document.Login; var TrocaImagem if (formDOMObj.email.value == "" || formDOMObj.anexo.value == "" ) alert("<%response.write Idioma.Item(Session("Idioma")&"_10")%>") TrocaImagem= "1" else TrocaImagem="0" return true; return false; // change button if TrocaImage="1" document.getElementById("submitButtonDiv").style.display = "none"; if (navigator.appName == "Microsoft Internet Explorer") { document.getElementById("progressBar").innerHTML = ""; document.getElementById("progressBar").style.display = "block"; document.getElementById("progressBar").innerHTML = "<img src='img/progressbar.gif' alt='Progress Bar'>"; } else { document.getElementById("progressBar").style.display = "block"; } else } </script>
Things I am trying to Do: - Check if email field isn't empty and check if the anexo field isn't empty. Actually I would like to have it separeted but I dunno how to do this. - If email and anexo isn't empty run the change button part of the code, witch will change the submit button for a progressbar.gif image. Actually this part of the code works great but without the field validation above.
I want to run video at our website at a specified time only,like i might want my video to be played at 9.00a.m exactly . how can i do it using javascript.
We facilitate webinars/conferences and post the date/time of the events on our website.Presently, we list the times in various United States time zones to make it easier for viewers to determine what time the event will take place within their time zone.However, posting the date/time in all the time zones makes the event calendar look too busy,cluttered, and somewhat confusing.Is anyone aware of an html code/script that would allow me to post the times in my time zone (Mountain Standard Time) to where the time is automatically converted to the viewers local time on their computer? If there is a code/script of this nature
I am looking for a general purpose javascript snippet that enables me to <div> or <span> HTML to make portions of the form be hidden and then appear. The form contains about 12 sections and some sections can contain subsections. When the user clicks on a checkbox, I want previously hidden text boxes, radio buttons, text, drop down menus, and additional checkboxes to appear. In some cases, clicking on a checkbox in a section can cause additional previously hidden text boxes, radio buttons, text, drop down menus, and additional checkboxes to appear.
Within each section, a list of individual names is displayed with an initial checkbox beside each name being displayed. Clicking the checkbox beside a name is what triggers the hidden info to be displayed. The server side application is written in php and the field names are assigned using brackets as the array is created. As an example the HTML checkbox beside the first name <input type='checkbox' name='sect1custname[1]' value'First Name'> The HTML for the next name woud be exactly the same except the name field would be defined as name='sect1custname[2]'. All of the other input buttons, boxes, menus, and text would use the same naming conventions so that the server side module can correctly process the data.
I am hoping to keep this as generic as possible so that we can add, change, and/or delete entire sections simply by creating the appropriate HTML and surrounding it with the correct <div> or <span>. I understand that there may need to be some javascript wrapped around the checkboxes.
If you know of , or have, or can develop the code, please send particulars to jscott4272 at comcast dot net. If there are any costs associated with the code, just let me know what they are. If you have any questions or need additional information, please email them to me.
'm trying to put together some code within a form that tests whether someone has supplied an email address or a telephone number when the Submit button is pressed. Neither of these fields are require mandatory input.Trouble is my current code always supplies a true result even if no data is put in these fields i.e. the 1st IF statement returns true. What am I doing wrong?Here's my code. _____ <script type="text/javascript"> function check_id() { if (document.feedback.email !="" || document.feedback.tel !="") {[code].........
Is there another JS function that I can use to force a time delay without having the code continue to run? I'm using the setTimeout() function but the call to this function doesn't stop the code flow. I need to stop the code flow while waiting. I guess I need a Sleep() type of JS function.What I'm trying to do is display some blank text on the screen using a for loop (I'm using <BR> to give the appearance of "opening up" a vertical window section in the browser) and I need this 'text' to complete before allowing the following code in the function to execute. The following code will display a Table with rows of data. I'm trying to use a timing function to give a visual impression of a window opening up just before the data displays.
