View 2 RepliesI have a page that inserts a div after another div on my page. Basically this div and its content are generated by the server and outputted via Ajax when the user clicks a button.I have something like:
//Listener function
$("div").click( function () {
alert("thing");
});
Clicking any of the divs that were loaded on the page will give this alert however, clicking on this div that was inserted after the user clicks a button does not respond to this listener. I put my rendered html into the w3c validator and my page has no errors (because I thought that maybe I had a missing end tag which would cause jquery to not work).
I am making an project what's require load scripts after the page it's fully loaded, so i use an append and thats work ok, when you make clicks, selects, or other events but when i try to execute some script in the load event theres comes an error.theres my code of the page if anybody needs.
window.onload = function(){
var fncName = 'general';
chargeFnc('index', 'srcfnd', fncName);

I am pretty new to jQuery and my programming skills are almost non-existent.
But I was wondering; is it possible to create something which will load a page (or php include) when the website has been fully loaded with a loading bar?
The reason why I want this, is cause I am building a website and it will have a ping (to severs) script, but it takes a "long" time to load (depending on the servers that are being pinged). So it can take anywhere from 2 or 3 seconds to 10 seconds (or even more). So it would be nice that first the website would be loaded completely and when that's done, it should load the ping script and show that it's loading with a loading bar.
Is this possible and easy to do?
I'm trying to load a page using the .load(url) from an already loaded page, but nothing responds. Below is a simple sample page created to show what I want to accomplish. Also, I'm using JQuery 1.3.
index.html
When the index.html page loads up, the page01.html loads into #mainview. And when I try to click on the <div id="clickme">Click Me!</div> inside page01.html to load page02.html, nothing works. Just can't figure out what's wrong...
Im having some troubles with some functions i launch in $(document).ready() to initialize the page. Then if i click on browser refresh everything goes fine... even more strange when i place alerts between then calls to these functions everything goes fine too... but the first time the page is loaded it seems that the functions are not executed at all.
View 3 Replies View RelatedIs there a way to load the entire page at once when all pictures are loaded? Is there a script for it or onload event that needs to be done or something?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI doubt this is possible, but I have no idea what actually happens when a page loads, so I thought I would give it a shot...
if a js file that is loaded externally has parameters, is it possible to turn those parameters into variables, giving the user the option to select the variable's value after the page has loaded?
maybe a concrete example would be better...
in google maps, the api is loaded like this:
<script type="text/javascript" src="http://maps.google.com/maps/api/js?sensor=false"></script>
but if you wanted to specify that you want the api to function in Spanish, you load it like this:
<script type="text/javascript" src="http://maps.google.com/maps/api/js?sensor=false&language=es"></script>
and that language=es is the one that I want to change. But I can't seem to make it into a variable on page load, like this:
<script type="text/javascript">
var lang="es";
</script>
<script type="text/javascript" src="http://maps.google.com/maps/api/js?sensor=false&language=lang"></script>
much less make it changeable once the page has loaded.
I have a feeling that this is a really dumb question, but can it be done without reloading the entire page?
I am trying to insert the following call into my page;
[Code]...
It works fine in all browsers except ie(6,7,8) Internet Explorer can not open website. Operation Aborted. I understand it is caused by the jquery autocomplete function loading before the page / DOM has fully loaded. I tried adding Defer="true" to the script however this doesn't seem to work.
This page: [url] is linked to 1.js which has this code:
When the page is first loaded, it triggers the alert. It doesn't seem like it would because it is in the livequery function. Why does it do that?
I'm creating an AJAX page that is built using a PHP Class, ie the php looks a bit like this: PHP Code:
$wp_page->addjs('../var/savepolicies.js')
$wp_parser->page = "userpolicywindow.php";
$wp_parser->addlink("Home","../index.php","");
$wp_parser->addlink("Logout","javascript:logout();","");
$wp_parser->getpageid("501");
[Code]...
within this page that has been created, there is an AJAX tree folder which calls another page to be loaded into a DIV by AJAX again. Code:
[Code]...
I don't know why it doesn't work because the page has been loaded with the JS file, but as soon as the link is added afterwards it doesn't work. I take it this is because it doesn't know where to find the JS, but how can I overcome this?
Try this out on any of your page...
And put this inside testing.html:
Try to click the button#btn 3 times... you will find the loaded testing.html will only run the script 2 times.. then it will show no script for the rest....
I tried it on chrome, firefox.
Trying to make a full ajax site may have alternative way to load and remove?
I have a question about load(). I created a php script that simply returns <img src="something.jpg" class="myimage">
To test I created this code, the image loads fine and the mouseover works fine showing the alert dialog :
However, my trouble seems to be that if I bind mouseover to the class "myimage" nothing happens, like so :
Seems that the document would load the html first then the mouseover bound to the class (myimage) would fire off.
I'm running into a little bit of a problem with tinyMCE. My textarea is not loaded with the initial first page load but dynamically inserted in the DOM via ajax, so it doesn't display.
I've studied the documentation that comes with tinyMCE and it still kinda puzzles me what I have to do to "dynamically load" tinyMCE.
How to access the functions defined in scripts of URL loaded in iframe using jquery ?Following is the much more elaboration of question :I have Sample.html :

I have a page that I click an edit button. Upon clicking the edit button, another page is loaded via ajax, and displayed inside a <div> tag. During the new page that is loaded, I am pulling some field's properties to see if they are filled in, and if they are, then make them a certain color. Currently, on slower internet connections, this PageLoad function will not work because the pageload function is ran before the page is actually loaded.
So, I am looking for a solution to check to see if the page is loaded, completely, then I want to run the PageLoad function. Here is the function from the click of the button that says "edit". This calls the page to display:

I have a scripts which filters a list of data based on a users selection from dropdowns in a form. The script updates a counter while the user is making the selections and also colates a url string which I then use to query a php db when the user clicks view results.
I also have a reset button in the form so the user can quickly go back to the start. When this is clicked it does reset all the dropdowns and inputs to their defualt values but it doesn't reset my js functions back to their initial states.
Can anyone tell me how I can do this? Is there a js reset function I can use?
I'm using this code to create a modal box:
$(document).ready(function() {
//select all the a tag with name equal to modal
$('a[name=modal]').click(function(e) {
//Cancel the link behavior
[Cpde].....
I've come across a problem however, as i need a modal box to appear when a page loads, but i can't work out how to call the function at the top.
I guess it is just a case of in the:
$(document).ready(function() {}
of the page i want this to appear straight away calling the function:
$('a[name=modal]').click(function(e) {
but i don't know how to reference it, or if it can be?
When I use the load function on my first page (index.html):
$('#content').load('page1.html #content');
I got two divs on my page with the same id (id="content").
...
<div id="content">
<div id="content">Content from page1.html</div>
</div>
...
How do I resolve this issue without a another div?
I'm using the load function to inject a page into my layout. It works fine, however after it loads the page the layout changes dramatically and eliminates pretty much all of the CSS in the HTML file.
The page im loading is a PHP page, could that be why? Is there something I have to insert into the PHP file to stop the display from changing upon loading?
My iframe id is 'bpd'. I would like to call a function after the page loads into the iframe.
Here is my code and I am getting 'Invalid Argument' error.
$('#bpd').load('/main/buspd.cfm', function () {
setHeight();
});
I'm relatively new to jquery and I've noticed that a page that has jquery script and any jquery extensions will run fine the first time, but if the jquery loads another page fragment using the load function into the same page or hides a div element and reveals another div element or calls an ajax script to show a different page, the jquery script ceases to work

View 1 Replies View Related I'm working on an embedded device and I want to display only part of the original configuration page by building a jQuery page on top of it. Unfortunately, the code that generated the pages was not ajax friendly in the sense that the only way I have to identify the parts I want to show or hide is the class attribute. Up to now, I've been able to load the page with the simple code:
<div class='contentcontainer'>
<hr> <div id="content">
</div>
</div> <script type='text/javascript'>

But it doesn't work. Then I read on the [URL] that I would need to wrap it:

If you want to load some content into a div and then manipulate it afterwards ((ie: loading something your use a template for a message window and then want to change the message contents) you *must* do it by wrapping it in the completed function handler..
Don't just throw it a few lines down, you'll get random chances that the selector will
how I should do this? Do I need to replace the test() function by a function that will do the post treatment? How then?
