I want to use the datepicker for multiple fields in a form however I don't know how to have it re-use the settings for multiple fields. For example, I have a form with 4 different fields for dates. I want to use the same datepicker formatting for each field. So instead of having to do something like this

I've used jQuery's datepicker in the past to choose start/stop dates for a single record. Now I'd like to create a page where I can use the datepicker to choose start/stop dates for multiple records. You can see a stripped down version of my code at [URL]. I have start/stop dates for three records and would like to use the datepicker to let the user change the default date. I currently have an icon next to the start times and if you click on it it pops up a datepicker element for the top record where you can select a date and it'll be posted.
My problem is that I'm not sure how to generalize the code to let it work correctly for the 2nd and 3rd records. I'd like to keep just one function to handle the hide/show so that I can later let the user add additional records to the list and also let it be intelligent enough to handle it. I don't have much experience with the proper way to create name/id selections that javascript will then know which fields it needs to edit. A minor problem that I noticed is that the calendar seems to push the time over to the right even though the row it is in should span two columns. What am I doing incorrectly that is causing this?
I'm trying to format the dates from datapicker to be only displayed in the certain weekday period. For example, I would like to choose only Tuesdays in 3-month period (3-month period can be done by setting minDate and maxDate variables in jquery). But how to highlight in this period only Tuesdays (other days should be inactive)? Is it possible?

On submit I'm trying to post the data in the fields to a web service.The first time you fire up the dialog, I'm running into two problems. One, the values I'm getting from the fields are all emtpy. The problem I'm running into is that when I first click on one of the javascript generated fields, datepicker doesn't load. However, if I click on a second instance of that same field name, then datepicker will load properly. My guess is that I'm just defining the function incorrectly for these events.

When I click on the 1st date field (birthday) it mostly works... I say mostly because it doesn't appear to be pulling in that css as the widget is pretty spread out and has no borders etc. When I click on the 2nd date field (here since?), absolutely nothing happens. Surely this supports multiple date fields on the same form so what am I doing wrong?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have multiple fields in a form with the same name. Lets call the fields with the same name "junk_array". My first field of junk_array is a input type=hidden. All the others fields in junk_array that follow are type=text. I can reference this first hidden field in IE with document.form.field[0].value. In, fact my form works absolutely wonderful in IE 6. However, netscape 4.7 does not recognize my first field in the array as the hidden field. Netscape sees the first visible text field as the first field in the array, subscript 0. What totally and utterly perplexes me, is that, from a previous thread, I can do this and get 9999 back in an alert
box in Netscape and IE. So, this proves Netscape doesn't have some evil code that disregards hidden fields. I guess...

I even copied these fields directly below the opening <form> tag in my form and both Netscape and IE see the first hidden field as as
subscript 0.
However, my form is much more complicated. I have tables within tables and about 30 other fields. In my form I cannot for the life of me get Netscape to recognize the first hidden field of junk_array to zed as index 0.
Somehow, If I make the first type=hidden fields visible, netscape does work nicely. Why when I toggle type=hidden to type=text does Netscape cooperate. What is happening here? Anyone else have this problem with hidden fields in Netscape? I could post the code to my form but it is

With changeYear: true, yearRange: '-10:+1', and numberOfMonths: 1, the year dropdown shows 2000-2011, as expected. With every other numberOfMonths I tried, it shows only 2010. Is there some dependency I don't know about between these settings that means something has to be done differently?

I am trying to reuse a popup in my application. The reused popup also
opens another popup. From this final popup I then try and reference a
function located in the window that origionally opened the reused
popup. This works fine in IE but doesn't in FireFox. Looking at the
code through the Javascript debugger in FireFox it tells me that the
reused popup's opener is closed even though it is still open. Is this
a bug with FireFox or just bad practice?
I need a dialog box to appear when a person clicks the add to cart link on my site, where they are asked to fill in certain fields, and then click next, still inside this dialog and then move on to the next part to fill in more options, when done, must show in this dialog still, "thank you added to cart successfully". This all using php, ajax, jquery.
A good example of this, is for example: facebook >> add friend >> friend successfully added >> suggest this person to friends.
