I'm using jquery with wicket. I use jqTransform to skin all of my form components. This all works fine until it comes to skinning components that are added via ajax. I have manged to recall the jqTranform function from wicket and they are redecorated however the problem is that the components are already rendered when they arere-skinnedwhich causes them to briefly flash from the old style to the new style.
View 1 RepliesI have a grid that I'm adding rows to that include form text input boxes using addRowData. I know I can use the "editable:true" for that but I'd rather not at this time. Anyway I have the <div id=list1></div> surrounded by a <form></form>. Also statically I have a couple of text input boxes and a submit button. When I press the submit button the only parameters that show up in the POSTED data are the static ones. Is there a way to get the form elements "registered" with the form? I know I can always use javascript to extract the data and save it via an ajax call, but if there is a way to do it "correctly"

I am having problems with slideUp/slideDown effects on elements that I add to page with a AJAX callback. slideUp/Down works on elements that are present on the page load, but doesn't work on all elements added later with AJAX.
These items can be added with ajax... Then I have checkboxes that I can filter some items by using jQuery slideUp/Down. If checkbox is clicked some items are hidden or shown. But as said abowe it doesn't affect the newly added items!
I've not done much in the way of JS, if really anything other than using javascript.com before, so this may be me bieng quite m00bish, but I am having problems with my script on a page.
In a nutshell, the script I have currently allows my viewers to make a selection from a drop-down list, and as a result, the embedded WMP object below starts streaming the selected video.
WMP gets the video name from the VALUE= element of each list item.
My aim is that as well as the page starting the selected video, that a paragraph of text will appear under the WMP object based on the selection showing information regarding that video.
I've tried playing with a VAR element, and then using document.write to print the variable name to the screen, but this only writes the value of the variable at the time of page loading, and does not refresh.
I am fairly new with Javascript and now I am on the DOM chapter of a book I'm using as a learning tool. Anyway here is my problem, I can't seem to access DOM nodes. For example: document.getElementByClass doesnt work, so does variable.nodeName. I also tried giving alert the value of the id by using this

The first alert value returns null, while the second alert does not work at all.I've read in Google that this might be caused by the JS file loading before the whole html page. I tried using a library which supposedly will fix the thing but it didn't work.
I have a simple problem and cant seem to figure it out. I have a function in the body.load function that is supposed to highlight rows in my table when i mouse over them. When u refresh the page, the function works properly. When I dynamically add new rows to the table using ajax, I get no response.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI am using jquery to copy a DIV containing some form elements. The copy is appended to the DIV in another DIV to allow an unlimited number of form elements to be sent. The problem is that none of the copy DIVs are being sent by the browser Firefox. There is some chatter via google, but nothing conclusive. I see the DIVs show up in Firebug. Could this be jquery related?

The problem is that the first time I submit the form (in FF for MAC) the classes that get assigned to the form elements get added, and removed real quickly. i know i should have 2 fields for a first and last name in my form but i dont - or has - a java script valadation rule to only allow a one letter character (letter in between spaces such as a middle initial) in a text field if at least 2 words are also included (2 words of at least 2 or more characters)
so if the user input ' John H ' an error prompt would display until one more word is added/at least 2 words are found
right now im using the below coding to allow at least 2 words in the text field but would like to see if its possible to enhance it so it will only block a one letter word if there are less than 2 other words in the form - right now if any words is added with less than 2 characters it will display an error... if anyone knows of a better form of code that needs a minimum of 2 words added and still allows single characters such as middle initials to in a validation script i get lost on validation process'

I am selecting an image as part of a html form. Once selected, jQuery assigns a user-defined attribute of the image to a hidden form variable and passes it to form handler. Problem is when I dynamically add images that can be selected. I am using live function to ensure that the dynamically added image is highlighted when clicked - but the user-defined attribute is not being grabbed by jQuery.
I think that when the page is first loaded, all the existing image attributes are loaded into the DOM, but when extra images are added with ajax, the DOM doesn't have the new attribute values, despite them appearing in the html on the page. I don't think I can use the live function in this instance, because an attribute is not an event. Out of ideas now. HTML/PHP, with jQuery:

I have cleated a bit of code that will dynamicly add a new line to a form so the use can add an infinat number of entires for this element.The code adds the form elemetns in IE and FF ok but when i click the submit button it does not submit the information from the dynamicly added elements in FF.Oddly enough IE works fine!Here is the code:

I am just beginning to try to learn some js, and am making a site which requires a multi selection form with each being added up to reach a total. This sounds like a standard form, but this is a little different. I have files in megabyte sizes, from which people would choose what they wanted, and the total deciding how many dvds would be needed to store that many files...and this total could then be added to a js shopping cart. By the way, there is nothing illegal or pirated with the files in case you have any concerns.

way I found to make it work is to append any created fields to a DIV

The main page is called Aj.html. In the 'head' I have mostly some functions to support Ajax call to server PHP (to just 'echo' something so I could see Ajax work). In the 'body', there is a little javascript and a form 'button'. When I click the button, an 'onclick' event causes a function to do the last step or two of the Ajax stuff... and the server PHP element is called... and then my ajax message handler back in Aj.html gets control to just send an alert... and that was the initial experiment ... and it was just so I could see how Ajax works.
Well - then I noticed that the 'button' is only clickable ONE time... And I set about to try to learn whatever I needed to learn to make that button be one that could be used to fire off the Ajax stuff multiple times... But I couldn't get that to work. So, I tried some code to remove the onclick event (during the ajax messaging handling logic in Aj.html) - and then add another onclick event to that same button... but that didn't work. Then, I tried to delete my button altogether - and insert a new button with it's own 'onclick' (which also would fire the ajax stuff) - but that didn't work, either....
Anyway... Now, my biggest curiosity (for the moment, at least) is why I can't dynamically add a button that has the needed onclick stuff to also fire the Ajax stuff... So, I guess I'd like to solve that right now.
What's currently happening is this: when I'm in the part of the code that is defining the dynamic button - and just before that button is added to the form, I define the 'onclick' that is supposed to be a part of that new button... BUT - when that assignment is made, it is almost like javascript is thinking that the request is actually in insert another onclick for the in-progress 'click'... because the new onclick is immediately processed at that point (I don't even make it to the next statement...just boom... the new onclick function is executed).
Also - the new dynamically added button DOES get added okay... but when I click that newly added button, it doesn't fire the Ajax stuff it's supposed to fire (via the onclick for this added button) - instead, it just causes what appears to be like a page refresh ... because the regular button reappears at that point (and then the Ajax stuff will again work off of that 'regular' button).

I'm working on a script that will produce multiple dynamic forms based on the results of an ajax request. The ajax request does a db query that will return 0 to x number of rows. For each row, a new serialized form is created. Since the forms do not exist at page load, I'm having problems getting the value of the form elements so that I can run other functions on them (update inputs and selects). I've stripped down everything so that I can show a basic example. In the example, how would I get the value of "#orderID"? The body contains a div (previousList) that has a list of items that when clicked will trigger the ajax query. It also has a div (line details) that will hold all of the forms that are generated.

I have a page with the following properties:
Several non-form input elements (a text field, a few buttons).
There is an "add file" and a "remove file" button. Whenever the "add file" is clicked, new_file_count is incremented and a form is created (ID: "nc-" + new_file_count, NAME: "ncform", enctype: "multipart/form data"). Whenever "remove file" is clicked, the last form is removed, and new_file_count is decrimented. Each form has a hidden submit element named "NEW_SUBMIT".
There is also a text field button, when it is clicked, a hidden field in each form is updated, along with the text in a span element within each form. This works properly.
Finally, there is the non-form "Check in documents" button. When this is clicked, the function LAC_NEW_CHECKIN_CLICK is called (see end of mail). This should iterate through each form, and submit it, and the alerts I put in the validation function would suggest it is doing that.
However, when the actual LAC_submit_checkin function is executed, the checkin is not being executed as AJAX (I'm redirected to the json output of the first form).

View 3 Replies View RelatedHere is the issue I am having: In my project, I have a index.php page with a sidebar menu and a div id called œcontent.The user can select different menu items and perform searches from the database and make updates to their account. Im using ajax to load all of the menu items and all of the forms into the div id "content" on the index page. The Forms all load into the target div as they are suppose to with ajax.
However, on the mysettings page I have two forms and two different buttons, one called save and the other called update. When a user wants to edit their account information and makes changes to their account they clicks on either button and the form processes the information and updates or inserts data into the database correctly but the problem is that after that the form or page does not display the form back in the div id "content" like how it was loaded originally in the index.php page. The problem is that it reloads or refreshes the form page without the index.php page being involved. That is does not get reloaded or updated inside the index.php page content div again.
What I would like do is have all of my forms process whatever is submitted on the page and display the results back inside the same content div on the index.php page again. I know I am missing something because all of my forms are doing the same thing. I am hoping someone can help me out. I would be very grateful for example code that I can learn from since I am still relatively new to web development. I am posting some sample code below.

I've literally tried everything. Read 26 tutorials, interchanged code, etc. My validation functions all work. My AJAX functions work (tested manually using servlet URL's). The second servlet validates the reCaptcha form that's generated on my webpage. After the form is validated, even if everything's correct, nothing happens upon clicking submit. I even have an alert pop up if with the captcha result, just for middle-layer debugging purposes.
I want to do all of my validation clientside; none serverside. However, going to be tough if I can't get my god damn form to submit. I've been puzzled by this for close to 36 hours straight. I can't see, and I'm going to get some rest and hope that there is some useful insight on my problem when I return.

I am currently using jquery .post ajax code to submit a form.
The problem is that when I click on submit it takes me to the php file page. Which is blank.
I don't want this... this functions just like if I made the form in html meaning when submit it takes you to the .php file well opens it in a page.
I want to use ajax that when you click submit it submits the form and then shows a message on screen.
When I click the submit button my message gets shown on the screen saying it submittedsuccessful then with at least 2 seconds it sends the user to the php file meaning opens the page up in the browser not a new tab or new window but sends the user to the php file. Which I don't want it to happen. So the page is blank.
I used the .post and serialized the form. Is this the right thing to do?
I don't want to send the user to the php file. Just use ajax and check if it updated the database and if so send either 1 or 0 depending if it went threw then the form page willreceivethat data and then fade in a message saying either error or success depending what went on.
I would like to know how you can use jquery ajax to submit a form without refreshing the page. I do know about the serialization function but would like to see an example of what is submit().
I currently tried to get my form working but but can't get it to work meaning to submit something from the form.
I'm working on a generator that is supposed to do something after something is selected from forms. So here it goes: I got two select forms now. After I select the value from the first form the value of the form is passed to the second form and it then generates it's own values depending on the value it gain. I realized that you can do this without page refresh with JQuery and I thought that would be nice and I gave it a try but now I'm stuck and here is my problem:
I've problem at passing the right value from the first form. I only want the value of the option that is selected. All my values are coming from MySQL database. I've tried this: var str = $('#customer').val(); (customer being the id of my select tag of the form) but it just returns an empty array. I don't want to pass array in the first place. I just want to pass the value.
I've tried serialization too but iit passes the right value but it passes it so many times as I have options in my form.
