JQuery :: OnLoad Function Work Without Clicking Button
Oct 19, 2011
I have the following situation.
<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "[URL]">
<html xmlns="[URL]">
<head>
<script type="text/javascript" src="jquery-latest.pack.js"></script>
<script>
$(document).ready(function() {
//select all the a tag with name equal to modal
$('a[name=modal]').click(function(e) {
//Cancel the link behavior
e.preventDefault(); .....
As you can see the script works when you click the Sticky Note button. How can I convert this script into ONLOAD working without clicking the button.
I have this thing I would call with the onLoad(); function, but that does not seem to work well with IE. It's a css-popup that I want to fire when the page loads, this is the code I use (It works well in FF but, ofcourse, not in IE):
Code: <body onLoad="popup('popUpDiv')"></body>
I've tried this workaround:
Code: <span onLoad="popup('popUpDiv')"></span> But that doesn't work.
When using this script on a external js, it will not run. Trying to learn js and I do not understand why it does not work, when it should. The window.onload should call the function.
I have a gridview in a form that contains a Save ImageButton. I would like to create a Client-side CustomValidator that checks whether the grid is empty or not. If it is empty then I would like to throw an error message to the user. This is my code. In the "Save_btn_Click" event, I check if the page is Valid:
I cannot figure out why navigation panel buttons are losing CSS formatting and their function as HTML buttons.The page markup (in index.html) is here:[URL]There is one external CSS and one external JS file that contains all the I have traced the problem to a single Javascript line during the initialization (first loading) of the document.
This is line 61 in the function jumpToPage() in the ncluded external Javascript file ReGenaVetLabs.js Up to this script statement, the buttons are active and the mouse cursor shows as a pointer. After it executes, the cursor is no longer a pointer, and the buttons not clickable.It does not make sense to me why the left-side navigation buttons should be affected.
The page layout has four parts:
1. top panel (constant) 2. left-sided middle panel for navigation with buttons (constant) 3. right-sided middle panel for content 4. bottom panel (constant)
"(constant)" means it does not change from page to page.Although there is only one physical page---which is index.html in this setup---the content is loaded using scripts: the page is full of text and images that are contained inside DIV elements whose display is turned off (style="display:none;") and the DIV content is loaded using Javascript, simply by using the DOM .replaceChild() method for the DIV element that makes contains panel labeled 3 above...the content panel.Later on, I will make each page a separate HTML page, to deal with browsers whose script use is deliberately disabled. But this development is easier for me, and it avoids the new page loading appearance: browser window clears, browser loads wanted page.
The following javascript loads after the page loads. Is there a way to change this onload function and make it work as the page is loading?The javascript is meant for mousewheel scrolling for a horizontal website. The website I am using this for has a fixed width - 29000px
I am making this button in a JSP file. I am trying to make the button do two things: save changes to a profile and, when clicked, display the text "saved" below it. The former worked until I added an onlick to the button that triggers the "saved" to appear. Does anybody have any idea why this is? I have attached the code below.[code]...
I have the following website: [URL]. As you can see, there are a couple of news items. In fact, there should be 3 items on the homepage, the rest should be hidden.
When you click the button "oudere nieuwsberichten" what means "older news", the other newsitems should be shown underneath the 3 existing ones.
I am using jquery.validate.js file to validate an input form, It works fine, my problem is the error messages are not get cleared while clicking the reset button in the form.
I designed a form having ten fields, will it be possible to have a jquery function that will make all the values in the form field to be displayed in a separate div outside the form by click of a button or a link?
I have an onload handler that worked fine if applied in <body onload="getCountries()" >,but did not work in <div onload="n getCountries()" >. I searched for a while in the forum and got no clue. How to solve this? I need to put it in <div> elements.
Within my code below, when selecting 'Animals'in the dropdown menu a second dropdown menu appears.Selecting any item within this second dropdown menu causes a page redirect. When you click the back button in the browser, this second dropdown menu disappears in every browser besides Firefox. I want the user to be able to change their animal selection, e.g. choose 'Cat' first, then go back and choose 'Bird'.
I don't understand why the second dropdown menu disappears, going 'back' should display the page as it was. Is there any way to get the second dropdown menu to reappear without using a jQuery history plugin? This code does not behave as I have described in jsfiddle, so have pasted it here:
I'm playing with a modal Dialog of ericmartin (simplemodal) which I found at this url: [URL]
It's called "Confirm override". This function is called through a click on the button or on the link. Now I want to call this function onload I dont' have really a clue, how to manipulate the current script to make the correct changes.
Imho this is the code snippet, which calls the popup through a click.
jQuery(function ($) { $('#confirm-dialog input.confirm, #confirm-dialog a.confirm').click(function (e) { e.preventDefault(); // example of calling the confirm function
I have a bunch of jquery code that animates survey results. It starts by clicking on a css designed 'submit button' (see below). My question is to get the following, which works once the button is submitted, to activate instantly upon page load...for reference, here is what I am working with currently:
Code:
Then a css enabled 'pop up window' appears due to a CSS effect:
Code:
Question is: How do I do this without clicking on a button. Rather, have this work, as it does now, by page onload? It'd save me a ton of time and finally let me wrap up a project where the creator parted ways.
I know one might want to ask "Why does it have to activate on onload? Take my word, having a pop up with querystring makes all the difference for reasons I won't get into.
I have a cfm file that has a url that directs the page to another cfm pageI would like on clicking the url to call a coldfusion function befor going to the next pageexampleI have a component mycomponent
Apart from any logical mistakes this thing i have created might have , my question is this.Why upon pressing the last button and calling the "scor(j)" function , no alerts pop up?
I have a button at the bottom of the page and when i click on it, the page goes to the top.I want the page to stay at the bottom.I tried to use window.scrollTo(0,1200); which works only for a quick second and then continues to go to the top.I found the link, but nobody ansewered at the end: with subject: Scroll down after onclick event So, how can i set the scroll bar to stay at the bottom?
I am really new to JS (literally just starting looking into it) and I was wondering if anybody could help me or give any suggestion as to how build a comment box which appear when a user click on the comment button.Now I had a stab at that but my JS skills are still really poor. Here's what I came up with after sometime looking around on the net and getting (or at least trying to) action some suggestions I managed to get here and there:
HTML Code: <html> <head> <style type="text/css">[code]......
I am currently doing a fadein and fadeout function using jquery. When I click on a <a>, the page will fade in. There is an alert message (which is the javascript alert()) prompt out on the page once the page fade in. However, I want to fade out the page when I click the "OK" in the alert message.
I've tried but cannot success..
$('alert').click( function(){ $('#fade , .popup_block').fadeOut(function() { $('#fade, a.close').remove(); //fade them both out
