JQuery :: Multiple Links - Find Which One Was Clicked
Sep 24, 2009
I have a table that looks something like this:
<tr id="1">
<td>Name</td>
<td>E-Mail</td>
[code]....
With multiple rows. Each row has a unique ID (numerical). I need to be able to click on an a.accept, find WHICH one was clicked (which row it is in), and get the ID of that row. I've been looking around and I found parent(), but I'm not sure how I can specifically get which accept link was clicked.
I basically have many anchor links where when I click each of them it slidesdown its own div with some text in it. So have I wanted is when I click on one link it will show me the current one and hide the others. This is what I have tried which works great but when I click on a link it opens the div, then click on another one opens the div with one click and when I go back to re-click the previous link I have to double click it in order to work..
This is my js code: $(".anchorlink").toggle( function() { var cont_val = $(this).attr("id"); $("div#unique_anchor_text", this).show(); $("div#unique_anchor_text").hide(); $('.unique_anchor_text'+cont_val).slideDown("fast"); }, function() { var cont_val = $(this).attr("id"); $('.unique_anchor_text'+cont_val).hide(); });
HTML looks like: <a class='anchorlink' id='$item'>Comment</a> <div id='unique_anchor_text' class='unique_anchor_text$item'>some text</div>
Hi, i'm creating my own image gallery using jQuery, and there is a set of thumbnails at the bottom. The thumbnails have been put into an array, using jQuery, but what i am trying to do is to return the position of any clicked thumbnail in that array. i.e. when the 3rd thumbnail in the list is clicked, return 3, when the 5th thumbnail is clicked return 5 etc....
This in turn will dictate which item in another array (the main images array) will be displayed.
I have an ajax script which loads new content onto the page when the main navigation links is clicked. I also have a jquery script which fades divs in and out when another subset of links are clicked.
I guess these scripts essentially do the same thing but the first basically is loading in 'pages' without the page having to refresh. The second is just fading in and out divs that are on a page.
The problem is is that the second script only seems to work once, when the page is loaded.
This is my first post to this forum. When a button in parent window is clicked multiple times, more than one popup window is opened. This problem is occurring in linux firefox and mozilla browsers. In windows the code is working fine. Is there any option in window.open() method to open a popup window once. s there any known issue regarding this case?. Need a workaround to fix this issue.

Can I find multiple objects in one call? For example, I have ahold of a TD object that has in it input and select objects. I want to addClass to both the input and select objects therein? Something like ".find('input || select')"? Otherwise I guess I could just do multiple calls similar to:
//First find all of the required elements indicated by the red * $( "span[class=redEmphasis]").each(
I have a web page wich has several list like this one:
So several ul's list wich are inside severals divs of class <div class="languages_cont" >
I need to make active the first <a> of each one this ul's and it need to be done in Js (when i say active i mean the <a> text will become bolded, so right now i've been trying using a each but no luck yet, it only selects the first it encounters.
I have multiple select boxes on 1 page, I need to get the text of the select boxes(which is the qty of an item) and the value of the selectboxes (the price of the item) and the item description which is in a span tag with a class descriptionColor,
and when someone chooses something from the first select box and sth from the second and so on,I need to add the item name, quantity and total price of each item to hidden fields.
so the hidden field would include: for name:qty of item 1 + item1 name,qty of item2 + item2 name ... for price:total price of all items.
I've got a form which I want to validate using jQuery to ensure that the same value for a dropdown has not been entered more than once. The form consists of the following:
I need the info div to hide when the the table row is clicked: <tr onclick="javascript: $('#info').hide('fast'); $('#{$account.id}details').slideDown('slow');" style="cursor:pointer;"> This is what I'm using to hide it. But because I have multiple divs called info that I need hidden it is not working currently its only hiding the first div called info.
I am getting to know jquery a little, and I am trying hide and show a div when a link is clicked.I have a page setup that has a flash video in a div on the main page. Then when a link is clicked, a lightbox window opens and plays another video. I am trying to get the video on the main page to hide while the lightbox video is playing. Then when a user closes the lightbox window, the div with the main video on the page is shown and starts playing again.So far I can get this to work with one link. But I cannot get the main video div to hide when a second link is clicked.
I have been using JQuery in the past 6 months and I really got in love with it!Finally,I've come to an issue that (probably) have better solution than the one Im trying to do with.I have multiple tables in a HTML [code]all of these tables are some kind of gridviews filled with data using JSon and JQuery.The problem is:Before filling with data, only this part in the DOM is created <table id="myTableId"> <tbody> !so, before going forward with filling the table with data and creating <tr>'s and <td>'s, I would like to find the current (not filled one) table ID.The algorithm would be:
1. <table id="mytableId"> is generated 2. right after #1, find table ID. 3. Depending of the table ID, generated data accordingly. (Continue with creating tr's and td's)
I have tried using closest('table'), also using find(), parent(), parents() and some other methods with which I've been working previously, but still no success.I can find the table by uing var tId = $(TABLE['id*='myTable']").attr('id');, but this finds all tables with 'myTable' and I want to find only the one that is created at that moment and waits for filling with data.
I have an idea but don't know if it's possible, from a technical point of view. Imagine to have some text.
Example "John and Mary go to the cinema."
I'd like to have this kind of links. By selecting "John" I can go to: Link 1 (eg. page 1) Link 2 (eg. page 2) Link ...
By selecting "John and Mery" I can go to: Link 4 (eg. page 4) Link 5 (eg. page 5) Link ...
So, the word John can be included in two links. The links are multidirected. Do you know if there is a package useful for this purpose? On the contrary, do you have some suggestion useful to achieve this goal? I really don't know how to start.
It could be nice to have this possibility.
Example "John and Mary go to the cinema."
I could choose:
"[John] and Mary go to the cinema." and then go to select among the possible "John" links.
or:
"[John and Mary] go to the cinema." and then go to select among the possible "John and Mary" links.
Is it possible to submit multiple links all at the same time using Javascript? I check all over the web and can't find any examples anywhere.
I would like to click on a button and submit to google, yahoo, msn, etc all at the same time. Like someone physically click on [url], [url],url], so on.
I have window containing a field.I was looking for a way to copy the value in the field and at the same time close the window.To close window i cleaned the copying code and insert this : 'javascript:window.close();' it worked perfectly too.But i don't know how to put the 2 codes in one line so that on click the button will copy the field value and close the window
In my form, the user can check only one option: either * ship to default address * ship to new address
Both options are radio buttons. They both have the same instance name, but different ids. That way the user is forced to choose either one or the other.
My problem is that since both radio buttons have the same instance name, then I cannot get the value of the instance with JavaScript.
I'm doing kind of a form that at the end you can pay thru paypal. I have like a table made of anchor tags <a> and each one is styled as a table cell. What I need to do is to have the ability of multiple select this links. It would be: the user select one or more links and then a variable would carry these links name so he could pay with paypal.
I have coded my navigation bar so when you mouseover a button (about us- for example), it displays a sub menu using images below using a simple multiple image swap. When I mouseover another main button, the first ones are replaced with the new sub menu items-images.
All works fine, however, I cannot figure out a way to code into the existing script to assign and make hyperlinks associated with the sub menu buttons change as well. Here's my web page: [URL]
I have just the main nav button links contractor and freelancer activated right now. Here's the code below (using MM_swapImage):
<script language="JavaScript"> <!-- function MM_swapImgRestore() { //v3.0 var i,x,a=document.MM_sr; for(i=0;a&&i<a.length&&(x=a[i])&&x.oSrc;i++)
