Dec 21, 2010I am trying to get started using JQuery, but I find I can't even get to lesson #1. When I go to jquery.com and click to download the latest version (or any version) it doesn't "download" anything. It opens the file as a webpage in my browser and I see all the JQuery in one big string. Why won't the file just download? Is it the browser I am using? Is it my Mac?

JQuery :: When Updated The JS Library With The Latest Build (version 1.3.2), Get The Undesired Effect?
Jun 26, 2009Take a look at the following two examples:EXAMPLE 1 (Undesired Effect):EXAMPLE 2 (Desired Effect):I am currently working on a HTML/CSS Tab interface that is using jQuery. I downloaded the original example files from somewhere that used an old version of jQuery (version dated back from 2006).When I open the TABS.HTM file in the browser, I see the desired effect (as in Example 2 above), where the first tab is auto selected. Nice!Now, when I updated the jQuery .JS library with the latest build (version 1.3.2), I get the undesired effect, as illustrated in Example 1I have absolutely no idea what is going on and I am totally new to jQuery. I am assuming with the new version of jQuery, the JS initiator code is different. Please can someone take a look? I've included the old jquery-Version2006.js and the new jquery-1.3.2.min.js libraries in the attached zip.

Feb 9, 2011"Javascript does not work with Firefox". Below a very very simple html with Javascript. Using MS IE v8 I have found that the code works very well. Filling nothings in the textfield "your name" and subsequently clicking on the button and a window will popup with the text "Sorry, you forget to: ...". However, using Firefox instead...it does not work. A bit remarkable; the Javascript is very easy! Could you please check what went wrong? I have activated Javascript in the Firefox browser and the security is ok for Javascript.

What I want to do is as soon as a txt box (called 17 for reasons I can not get intonow) is populated with a date, I want to automatically display the Gregorian version of that date in GrDate3 text box. Here is the code I am using and nothing is working. I have tried the ready and change functions and I don't get anything displayed in GrDate3.

I copied all the code from the example and couldn't get it to work, out of desperation I switched to using jquery.cycle.all.js and the anchors instantly began working. It seems the lite version only drops the opacity on inactive slides, because clicking any slide uses the anchor href from slide 1.
EDIT: Just tested with the other versions of Cycle, and found all the other versions of cycle work flawlessly.. curious :

I can see the drop down menu (Banquet Rooms --> Banquet Menu) on all the pages without a cycle plugin. I know that the z-index is an issue with slideshows and drop down menus, but I cannot find where I need to raise the z-index. I've tried several parts of the nav bar and nothing changed.

Drop code here, name your select area, call for the jquery and JS pages.. Got it all working but I need just one little fix and I thought i figured it out, but apparently not. The person who created it did so with a max height option that is calculated based on the length of the list (it seems). This, to me, is crazy.. so if i have a three item list, there will ALWAYS be a scroller because its calculating the max height at one line item less than what is there. Dec 2, 2010I try to use the Plugin in SP. The problem is, that the offset is calculated wrong when using it in a Webpart. So the contextmenu is always displayed a litlle bit more to the right and a litle bit more to the bottom of the page. Playing with the left and top values using firebug i have figured out, that the top left corner is inside the webpart right underneath the title of the webpart.
Is there a way to manipulate the plugin so the position of the menu is corrected?

Feb 4, 2011I have a site in development using Joomla and Virtuemart. Virtuemart uses slimbox lightbox for product displays but this stops working when the Camp26 FishEye Menu is plugged in. I finally tracked it down to a jquery conflict due to them sharing $ but the fix is beyond me.

This code has been working well (for nearly 2 years and probably not the most optimal) on jquery 1.2.6 + livequery + jquery.forms. Trying to find the best way to port this to the jquery 1.4.2.
Not sure whether to try live() or delegate(), but would like to make sure I get good browser coverage.
