JQuery :: InvalidHandler Option - Event Container Not Cleared Out
Oct 2, 2009
I am having a problem getting the error container to clear out after I have fixed invalid inputs. I am using the invalidHandler option. When my form is invalid it shows a message of the number of errors (taken from the sample code) and shows the invalid messages. After I correct each error the corresponding message goes away but I am still left with the message of the number of errors.
Here is my setup.
$("#aspnetForm").validate({
focusCleanup: true,
onfocusout: false,
onkeyup: false,
submitHandler: function(form) {
saveAnnouncement();
return false;
},
invalidHandler: function(form, validator) {
var errors = validator.numberOfInvalids();
if (errors) {
var message = errors == 1
? 'You missed 1 field. It has been highlighted.'
: 'You missed ' + errors + ' fields. They have been highlighted.';
$("div.error span").html(message); .....
when i run "this.submit();" i submit my ajax request, so how can i get the validate to fire on invalidHandler and submitHandler so I will only run this.submit(); when it passes validation ? Currently the validator does not validate the form at all on submit, I need it to cancel the submit if there are validation issues and submit if there are none.
I have this php page that we load in an iFrame, calls a js file with validator working on it, worked fine forever, still works fine.I made a copy of this page for another iFrame, same js files, same fields, almost identical basically accept that the labels and fields are now arranged in a table instead of paragraphs for a different look and feel. On this page though, when I do something that calls invalidHandler (like leave out a required field) I do get the error, but the page still submits! I have tried everything, and its driving me nuts. When I use the console in the browser (by hitting the submit button and then quickly hitting the stop button) it shows that invalidHandler ran, found 1 invalid field, then submitHandler ran!
I am using jquery.validate.js file to validate an input form, It works fine, my problem is the error messages are not get cleared while clicking the reset button in the form.
I am attempting to use the errorContainer, errorLabelContainer model to display all validation errors. I have a field that is not required, but if there is data in it, it must be a number between 100 and 65535. If I enter an invalid number and change focus, the errorContainer appears along with the error message. If I empty the field, the error message goes away, however the errorContainer is still visible with the it's global error message. Is there a way to get the container to hide also?
I'm looking for a jQuery plugin, which could create a flyout of a container from left or right side of a page on some event (onClick or onMouseOver).
The example can be found at [URL] when the page loads some shopping ads slide from the left side of the browser screen (it's shown automatically only once, to see it again you need to delete this website cookies and reload the page - it would be great if the plugin had this cookie-based feature).
In my form a <select> with options I wrote $('#select option'). click(function () { myFunction(); }); Works fine in FF - IE8 works only for $('#select'). click(function () { myFunction(); });
But it is not at all the same thing, and myFunction is fired when as soon the select opens. And I want it is fired only when I click on an option (even if it is not a change !) I tried some other manners for the same result. The last one was to write the options as <options class="opt" value ='x'><option> and $('.opt').click(function () { myFunction(); }); Works fine in FF, but not in IE8.
This is the code I am using to test this. In FF and Op. When I click on an option in the select box, the alert pops up. In IE and Chrome, it doesn't seem to catch it at all. $('.clickopt').mousedown(function(){ alert("test"); });
the problem is that when i move mouse into the "offer" div within the div i put my mouse from the div with "Add" over "Search" the onmouseout event is triggerd and the wtf() function is fired. and i want to fire wtf() only when i pull my mouse out of the whole "offer" (container) div.
I'm getting the following error: attempt to run compile-and-go script on a cleared scope [Break On This Error] if (xmlhttp.readyState==4 && xmlhttp.status==200)
when i try to run the following code in mozilla firefox:
gethint.html
<script language="javascript" type="text/javascript"> function showHint(str) {
I'm having a problem when i use IE (on FireFox it runs with no problems).I have a event on options inside a select, that i call then there's a click. It's this:
Im trying to develop an AJAX application which updates a <select> list with a series of <option> tags when the user makes an entry in a field.
Therefore, my ajax application needs to dynamically create <option> tags and append them to the <select> list on the form. I have got this working in all browsers. However, i do not know how to add an "onclick" event handler to each <option> tag that is dynamically created in my javascript code.
Code:
As you can see, i create an option javascript object for each new <option> tag and add it to the <select> list. This works. But how can i also add an "onclick" event handler in the javascript code?
I know how to fire a JavaScript event with the onsubmit code.What I was wondering if it's possible to have a different JavaScript code fire when one changes the value in a select option.For example, something like this:
I am searching a solution to change a ComboBox by popup I have found this script on the web. Is it also possible to select the newVendor just after adding? Is this script ok or are there better solutions?
<script type="text/javascript"> <!-- function message(value){ if(value=="newVendor"){// New Vendor is selected var vendor = prompt("Vandor's Name",""); var elementSelect = document.getElementById('vendor'); try{ [Code]....
I'm using the following code to remove an option from a select control based on a selection in a different select control and the option text in the select option that is being removed. The code works as I want it to, but I would prefer to use the option value for identifying the option to remove instead of using the option text. I've tried several different ways to do this, but can not find the proper syntax.
What I'm trying to do is display a menu on keydown, having it go away when the key is pressed again. Specifically I'm using the "M" key. Here's my code so far:
[Code]...
The highlighted section is what I want. I already know that this won't work, because I've tried it then re-read the description and realized that ".toggle" binds to the click function. That's fine, but I need the same functionality on a ".keydown" event.
I have a drop area that should be pulling a value from a hidden input field when activated.For some reason, the code can see the image and set the new values but trying to get the value of the input field always comes back undefined. It's the $newSKU2 value that isn't getting set.
var $newpic2 = $('#2').find('img').attr('src'); var $newtitle2 = $('#2').find('img').attr('title'); var $newtext2 = $('#2').parent().parent().find('font').text();
i am working with a simple jQuery tabbed container and am wondering how to make the main body of the container use a background image instead of a background color. Here is the code:
Code: <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd"> <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"> <head>[code].....
But that obvioously does not work. what do I need to do to put a background image in there?
P.S. this code works other than that so you can throw it in a notepad doc to see the page in action.
I have a page with a button and a container. When i click on the button, it should redirect to a page where we can create a new customer. On the new customer form ,I have textboxes, radio buttons ,buttons amongst others.What i wanna do is that instead of redirecting to that page. I wanna dynamically create a div with all the controls required in the Container i have on my page itself. So each time the user click the Add New Customer button, on the same page, the textboxes and all other controls is created dynamically.
