I'm downloading jQuery and specifying it using the src attribute on the scropt tag from http://code.jquery.com/jquery-1.6.2.min.js and i'm getting that error.I've tried downloading jQuery and saving it locally and that works. However if i use the CDN it's giving me that error on firebug.

I am working on an ASP.NET application that make a lot of jquery and javascript calls and trying to optimize the client side code as much as possible. (This web application is only designed to run on special hardware that has very low memory and processing power.)
The profiler in firebug is great for figuring out what calls are taking up the most time. I have already optimized a lot of my selectors and it is much faster.
However the profile shows a lot of jquery error() calls. In the attached image of the firebug profile window you can see it was called 52 times, accounting for 15.4 of the processing time.
Is that normal for jquery to call its error() like that? My code works flawlessy, and there are no error messages in the firefox error console. It seems like that is a significant performance hit. Is there anyway to get more info on what the errors are?

I trying to make a call to an external domain using $.ajax() and it WORKS, the server receives the call, but the response in firebug errors out in jquery.js line 7760. I've been beating my head at this all day and don't feel like I've made it much further.
I suspect it has something to do with the dataType or type of the request. But I've tried all kinds of things from POST to GET to JSONP in the type. For dataType, I've also tried "html", "text", "xml", "json", and even some combos of "text html" but no success.

I have a jquery Tree program. I got from the net written by Mauro. here we can drag and sort the node.To run this program, we need 2 JS file.
1) jquery.simple.tree.js
2) Jquery file.
For Jquery I used latest version. 1.4.2.When I ran the program, tree working fine, But when I start to drag, it dragged but displayed a JS error "Invalid Argument". I am using IE8. My project work only in IE8.So I tried it with Jquery previous version, in IE8, the drag working with Jquery 1.3.2.But I should use Jquery 1.4.2 (Latest version).The program is a attached herewith.how I can use it with Jquery 1.4.2 and jquery.simple.tree.js.
It is not a big program, only basic things are there. I am having a problem getting the error container to clear out after I have fixed invalid inputs. I am using the invalidHandler option. When my form is invalid it shows a message of the number of errors (taken from the sample code) and shows the invalid messages. After I correct each error the corresponding message goes away but I am still left with the message of the number of errors.

From what I have read I believe the format is correct in my function. In PHP I have a print_r function that would dump an array where regular echo commands would simply output array so this may be a similar issue. I am not sure.
I'm new to JavaScript and I'm using some code posted for free use. I altered to accommodate my layout. Everything is working fine except I'm getting an error in Firebug that says:

I am attempting to use the errorContainer, errorLabelContainer model to display all validation errors. I have a field that is not required, but if there is data in it, it must be a number between 100 and 65535. If I enter an invalid number and change focus, the errorContainer appears along with the error message. If I empty the field, the error message goes away, however the errorContainer is still visible with the it's global error message. Is there a way to get the container to hide also?

For example, I have a language file (lang object), init.js files, common function files, ... here and there I even use global variables. I would like to use a compiler which also renames variable names to reduce JS file size. However, when the variables are separated over multiple JS files, and you compile each JS file one by one, the same short variable names will be attached given errors in the whole application.
