View 1 RepliesIs it possible to have a text box input searching for the entered text on another webpage in the same way Find In Page would do? I have a webpage that I want users to input an item, and that this will open the targeted webpage and bring you to (and highlight) the matched item(s) like find in page does. Is this possible or is the easiest way to just make users open the link to the target page and just complete the find in page search there?

Im using the jquery form wizard [URL] to create a form wizard. In one of the steps i need to populate some inputs based on the value of another input from a previous step.How can i do this? For ex: On step 1 i have two inputs. In one of them i need a time interval in days. On step 2 i have a datepicker witch should have the value of the current time + the number of days from the input in step 1.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a problem created by my complete [rookie] status – only second time venturing into jQuery. I created a simple shopping cart using php and the PayPal buttons (1: buy now, 2: add to cart). The php back end does it great, it generates the table and the buttons and everything works just like it’s supposed to; Except, I forgot to add sizes. So I found out what I need to add, and I realize that the way the buttons work, I will have two different text boxes for size. Not very visually appealing, and since I’m not submitting this to the server before it goes to PayPal to pay, I cannot modify it with php the way I normally would. jQuery / javascript are my only hope of making this work. What I want to do:Have a single textbox where [size] is entered by the user.
Copy the value from the [correct] text box to the Value=”” section of the now hidden field in the PayPal form That way, no matter whether they [BUY NOW] or [ADD to CART] the right size is submitted to the PayPal shopping cart. This is the actual PayPal code that I’m trying to change
<table>
<tr>
<td>
<input type="hidden" name="on1" value="Size" maxlength="200">Size</td>

I got this far, and then decided to find how to insert the "enteredVALUE" into the right place in the input text field (what I called output) and I've not been able to figure out how to stuff it in there.
When you press the down key while in an input field the default
behavior for some event creates a dropdown of the previously input
text. What event creates that behavior and how do I stop it ?
For example, to prevent ANY type of default behavior when clicking ANY
key, I thought this would work, but the dropdown still occurs. What am
I doing wrong ?

I'm trying to add extra DIVs after the first one on a page. This is for a CMS with form fields in them. Here is the first DIV:

I was wondering if it's possible to make it so that once a user selects a certain option in a list, it makes the next input for that form change to either a textfield or a list without losing the values entered in the inputs above.I know PHP is a server-side script, does that make this not possible?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a drop area that should be pulling a value from a hidden input field when activated.For some reason, the code can see the image and set the new values but trying to get the value of the input field always comes back undefined. It's the $newSKU2 value that isn't getting set.

i wonder if tablesorter does not properly parse the number of a table cell since it sorts a col of length values like this:
...
23 cm
115 cm
13 cm
May it be it takes only the very first digit into account? How to handle this without a core hack?
I want to test if a input field is empty or not, if it is I don't want to execute the rest of the script. After googling I thought I might of found a solution but it doesn't appear to be working :( Even if the input field is empty my script still executes.The solution I found How do I test whether an element exists?The only thing I really add was:
if ($('#phone').length) before
$('#search_customer').blur(function() to test the input field
add_reservation.php

How i can find the parent div of this input field for example someone type into the input field on keyup we want to find the parent div of this input field
I have a form that uses several text fields to set the footer of the current page. The fields are "Company name", "Street", "Town" and things like that. When a keystroke occurs in one of those fields, I update the footer with the corresponding info, using the "onkeyup" event. All this works fine. My form also has some checkbox to tell if the infos in the footer must be separated with bullet characters. In such case a bullet must be appended to the string retrieved from the current field, but only if the next footer info is not empty or does not start itself with a bullet. Similarly, if the previous footer info is empty and does not end with a bullet, a bullet must be added at the beginning of the current string. So, I have to make the UpdateFooter() function here below more subtle. From the "this" argument passed to that function, I've been unable to find with jQuery the previous and next <li>-encapsulated "siblings". I'm not sure that I really catched how to use "previous()" and "next()" efficiently.

I'm just starting up in web design and I have an interesting challenge that I'm hoping can be solved w/java script. I have a site with an application form. When the form is to be submitted, the form data needs to be emailed to the correct person to handle that particular application. However, that can't be determined by anything specific in the form. It can only be determined by the link that they clicked on to get to the form. I really don't want to have 22 identical forms with just a different EmailTo addie, which is what the previous site developer did. Someone please tell me this can be done w/java script? If not w/java script
View 4 Replies View RelatedHere is a unit converter. At the moment it does length and weight, both in imperial and metric measurements. I'll put up soon instructions on how to add more units/unit types.
View 3 Replies View RelatedIs there a free js library for doing unit conversions? I am putting
together an app that needs to convert volume and weight, among
others. You'd think that one exists, but I have yet to find it.
I need to create a conversion tool. On one side of the tool are 4 form boxes. On the other, just text (not in form boxes). Under the covers, I have formulas for converting the numbers -- mostly basic math functions. So, the user types in numbers, clicks convert and the text changes.For some reason, I'm having a hard time getting this to go. How can I get the results of these calculations to show up as text within a DIV tag and not inside a form element? There are lots of examples of getting these calculations to appear within form boxes, but not within DIVs. This page is already using the Dojo toolkit for some other functionality, is this something I could leverage here to build my Javascript?
View 5 Replies View RelatedFor instance I want to display some announcements from an external text file on a predefined box, like lets say 140 wide and height scalable according to text. The texts would be some announcements from me, a few words. I want the text justified and with previous / next link, if possible. And when they navigate to another page, they will get a random message in that box. There are news tickers on the net, but I just want something simple like this, no scrolling, fading, etc..

As recently as 1.4.3 $('input:text') would find input elements with no type attribute, but after upgrading to 1.5.1 that is no longer the case.
Is this a bug or an intended refactor to be more standards compliant?
FYI - this is the selector I now have to use: $('input:text,input:not([type])')

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm trying find a text in all document with jQuery, for example:
It searches the text with % in front, and then adds a tag "a" after the text.
<body>
%ilovejquery
<div id="im>%ilovejquery</div>
<p>%ilovejquery</p>
</body>
In addition to seeking the text, I wanted to add a link around each. Example:
<body>
%<a href="#">ilovejquery</a>
<div id="im">%<a href="#">
ilovejquery</a></div>
<p>%<a href="#">
ilovejquery</a></p>
</body>

I think with REGEX is avaliable and $.each method.
