Apr 29, 2010I would have "thought" it would be a simple thing to get the (unformatted) text in each cell of a dynamic table but I have failed to solve this problem. So...I have a table that the user can dynamically load with data. They click an add button to insert a row in a table which includes a delete button per row if they want to turn around and delete it.The table is inside a form. When they submit the form, I need to read each row and each cell in a row in order to dump it into some format so that the table contents display reasonably well in the email that is sent from the form submission.So the add row function looks like:

Oct 13, 2009I have a table of data brought in through lift and in it is a status column. I am wondering if there is an easy way to color a row based on the contents of that column. Any status of broken was red, edited was yellow and finalized was green. It seems like I could write a widget for doing this, but I don't know how it would work and have little experience with creating my own widgets.
Here is the initialization which includes functions for mouseover color changes.

Jan 11, 2010I have an xml file that is dynamically generated at periodic intervals onto disk. the information contained in this file is displayed in a vertical scroller and this works fine. I however need to filter the data based on the logged-in users preferences. These preferences are stored in a database and retrieved after the user logs in. Only data in the xml file that match the user's preferences must be displayed.

Feb 1, 2010only show rows that match certain criteria. In my example the table displays first name, last name, date won, and game name. I've tried several examples on the internet and the ui.tablefilter plugin, to no avail. They allseem to depend on a certain structure in the table. I am limited in howI structure the html because thehtml of the table is generated by an asp.net gridview control. Ihave gotten the below piece of code to work, but it takes at least 10 seconds to run and I only have 40 records.I assigned a class of gameName to the data fields in the column that contains the game name.

Aug 10, 2009I'm developing a table that'll have dropdown filters above it. However my table has a slight twist in that some columns will have more than one value in them, eg imagine a column with these values:
- UK
- UK
- UK, USA
- UK, Germany
- Germany
- USA
Now when I filter by 'UK' it should show four results - not two. Can anyone give me a few pointers how to do this or point me towards a plugin that might tackle this already? The values will always be comma separated.

Oct 27, 2009I have googled until my fingers bled and can't get a working answer to what I expected to be a fairly simple, common problem (but I guess not): I need to get the text value from row 5, column 3 of a table.
The user isn't clicking on the cell or the row or the table or anything like that. The table is dynamically built from the server side and I can't assign an id to either the row(s) or the cell(s), but I do have a table id and a table body id. How do you retrieve text given a specific row and column index?

Dec 12, 2011I cannot change a site's dynamically generated code but I can add HTML/JS to it with jQuery. I have a three table cells in a row. I want to take the third cell and put it on a new <tr> The example code below illustrates what I am trying to do. The problem with using this

is that it makes a new <tr> but it closes that immediately instead of absorbing the <td> below it.
