I have selected a list that contains sub-lists. Now, I'd like to search for the list items that contain sub-lists (but not including
the sub-list-items). I think the example below will explain what I'm trying to do.

I have a page that lists products. i then have a list of categories with a checkbox next to each one. i want to be able to refine the products list based on the categories checked. but i want to not have to use a submit button on the form and not have to refresh the page. i know i need jquery to do this. not sure how though.

I have found many nice filter plugins, that let you filter a table,and hide the rest of the items, and only show the item that matches
what was entered into an input dialog.What I would like to do, is use an unordered list instead. Is there any plugins that support this? I have not been able to find any..

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a table that has parts with multiple characteristics. Part Number, Height, Width, Capacity, Price, Etc. I would like to have a drop downs for all of these values, when a user selects one of these values it will filter the results into a list. Ex. user selects a part that has a Height of 6 and width of 10 it will only list those parts. As I said earlier, I have a script that will give me all the parts, however I am not able to make the onchange list parts with multiple values.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI have a cgi script (using perl for database queries) in which I have two select boxes. I am populating the left select box with rows from a database, and then provide buttons for people to move items to the right select box.
So far so good, everything works, the move right, move left, and move right all and move left all buttons work, data is always sorted in both lists. My only problem is, when I click the submit button, the follow up program only displays data that was highlighted/selected in the right select box, not all of the data in the right select box.
I don't know how to tell the script, via javascript, to highlight everything in the right select box when the submit form button is clicked. I would think i could just call a function via -onClick for the submit button. I could use some help with the function to select all data in that list.

I want to get the details div from the li that has an a tag with the class of selected. How do I write that correctly? I tried the following:

$("li").filter("a.selected").find(".details")
I only want the results from the li that has an "a" tag with the class of "selected."
Is this the best way to do it?
Another question:say i click on Eye Protection, the ul drops down, but when i click on Eye Protection again the list must disappear again.

I am having checkbox list and on top "add new" link. As I click on add new link dialog box appear exactly on checkbox list with form items and with submit button and as I click on submit button. Checkbox list appear with new added items.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have created a simple portfolio item for a site I am working on, with left and right buttons to move between the visible thumbnails in the portfolio.
The problem is this: when I click on one of the left or right buttons used to scroll the active list items, it resizes the space between all of the thumbnails by 1 pixel per click, up to 10 clicks.

I have an item list with "listitem" css class. I placed a button on each item to delete it. I am now trying to use the remove function to erase it from the page. I thought $(this).remove(); will work but it doesn't. I also tried something like this: $(this).parent('.listitem').remove(); but it didn't work.
When I write $('.listitem').remove(); it erased all the items of the list. I m just trying to be able to erase just the one clicked.
I followed a tutorial in .net magazine (a UK web design mag) on how to fade images using jQuery. I have followed it and I can now fade images for my menu, problem is, I am not sure how to append the code to all my to fade images for non list items. For example, I have a call to action button (just a telephone number with a graphic, I have used css sprites to add a hover to the graphic, but would now like to fade it using jquery. Still not managed to get this working, here is what I for my menu, which fades the images perfectly.

Basically, I'm trying to achieve two things:
1. The script creates empty carousel items; these are visible in yellow when you scroll through the items by clicking on the blue squares. How can I remove these so that item '6' goes straight back to item '1', without the two empty list items in between?
2. At the moment two clicks allow you to see all 6 'real' squares, plus the two empty yellow ones. How can I make it so that it scrolls one list item at a time, rather than 4 at present?
