im searching for a plugin/code example for text scrolling. I got some text in a <div> if text is longer than for example 300px it gets cut and is scrolling from start to end, stops for a second and then scrolls back, stops and all over, and if its not long enough than 300px then just displays normaly. Something similar to the Song name scrolling inin anyMP3 player.

I an onclick event that pops up a calendar box to choose a date. When it is clicked, the page automatically scrolls down so the input box is at the top of the windows. It's not a very far move, so it's not a terrible inconvenience... it's just startling.
Here is the code.
Code:
var ds_i_date = new Date();
ds_c_month = ds_i_date.getMonth() + 1;
ds_c_year = ds_i_date.getFullYear();

I have written a JS search function. I want it to work with IE, Firefox, Opera and Windows Safari. At this point it is working in all four of these browsers except for one feature: if the word I'm searching for is at the bottom of the textarea (not in the visible text) then the search function will not scroll the text up so that the find is visible.
I should quickly say that this does work in IE but not in the other three browsers. I'm at a loss as to how to get the textarea to scroll the found word into view in FF, Opera and Safari.

I was wondering if its possible (or prefferably if anyone has heard of a plugin that does this) to use jquery to slideshow a repeated image across the width of a webpage. IE to take a 50x50 background image that is repeat-x and have the looped image look like its scrolling from left to right at variable speeds?

I am using a dialog where my content causes scrollbars to appear. In IE8 everything acts as expected and scrolls smoothly. It's only using IE6 and IE7 that causes the problems. Content doesn't scroll at all. Scrollbars move, but content doesn't and then suddenly it does, but appears on top of the titlebar.

I'm building single page website with horizontal scrolling script and I want to add tabs (loading external html) to one section. I've managed to place them into a div inside this section but problem is that every time I click on any tab it scrolls horizontally to home page and returns back directly to that tab and not top of the section/page

I've seen this effect in Flash and am hoping to produce it in jQuery(that ought to get the juices flowing)...I have a list of events ordered by date. I want the accordion todisplay the event's name and when clicked, open to reveal eventdetails. Viewers will usually be interested in 'middle of the list'events but may wish to scroll (up) into the past or (down) into the

I'm developing a web application that uses kinetic (momentum weighted) scrolling inside a jquery-ui plugin.The recent introduction of OSX Lion with native kinetic scrolling support has made scrolling - that worked in previous osx versions - go haywire.
I am wondering if there is any way to detect kinetic scrolling as a feature, instead of blacklisting OSX 10.7 and putting OS-specific workarounds. Perhaps in the next iteration of jQuery we can include in the jQuery.support a flag for OSes that use kinetic scrolling.
Note that in OSX Lion, kinetic scrolling is implemented at the OS level, not the browser level, and both chrome and safari (et al) behave similarly.

Baseline:
What I have is a string of 5 images that have .hover functions attached to them. so when you hover over a caption DIV pops up over it. But, the whole img/caption div is wrapped in a href tag to that when you click it will go to X URL. So 5 images, wrapped with a URL, and have a hover function to show caption over image. What I need to to is have these 5 Images auto scroll from right to left, 100% width, so it seems like the images are scrolling on the screen then off the screen. But, what I would like is for one of the images (lets say img1.jpg) to start out at the center of the page (50% of the width). Then have a time set so that within (x)milliseconds (lets say 5000) image 2 (img2.jpg) will scroll to 50% of the page and img1.jpg gets push to the left.
So 5 images, wrapped with a URL, hover function to show caption, scroll from right to left, scroll to 50% width for 5 seconds then move on to the next image in the string of 5 pushing the images from right to left. I would like "hot spots" for user control. Hover over the right hot spot and the function speeds up by 50%, so it will take 2500milliseconds to perform the scrolling function. I would like to have hover right to scroll right 50% faster, hover left to scroll 50% faster and when you are hovering over the image pausing the function. Also, I would like to have it "endless" so if the user keeps scrolling one direction it will just have a loop of the 5 images.
So in the end:
5 images-
Wrapped with a URL
Hover to show caption DIV
Scroll on a timer-
Start with img1.jpg at 50% page width (with endless loop of images img5.jpg would be on the left of it, img2.jpg would be on the right if it)
Have a function that auto scrolls to the next image in line after (x)milliseconds
Endless loop of the images
User control of the scroll time using hot spots
Left/right 50% faster (2500 milliseconds)
Hover on center image pause auto scroll function; hover off resumes the auto scroll
This is what I have so far, but I really think it is in the wrong direction: [URL]. I'm not really looking for a "scroll" pugin. I'm really trying to do is display this image at (x) time at (x) location then move on to the next image and perform the same task. What really interested me in Thomas's plugin is the hot spots, but I bet there is a simpler way. Really if you take the hover function out of the equation all I want is the "right"/"left" button is perform the task (x) times faster, then with the "center" button just pause the timed function.

I've got a project that slides vertically in conjunction with the nav menu. I've also got a scroll bar setup, in case the user has javascript is disabled. Both them work correctly, independent of each other; page slides or scrolls. But, I noticed that when I use the nav menu to navigate, the scroll bar gets bigger and fills the entire side instead of moving with the page.

I'm developing a website and I need the browser to scroll to an anchor. It MUST be animated, so I tried to use jQuery for that. Tried this:
function goToByScroll(id){
$('html,body').animate({scrollTop: $("#"+id).offset().top},'slow');
}
It works perfectly on Firefox and Safari(on the Mac). On Mobile Safari it first goes to the top of the page, then it scrolls to the anchor I want it to scroll to. What's the trick to make it work?

This is a tough one I believe. I am currently developing a new site for my company, the test is here:[URL]..
As you can see each tab opens up new content, this is done using JavaScript and jQuery. However I would like the site to scroll to each section when it is opened. It does not need to be a smooth scroll, am happy with it snapping to that area, but just so that the section which is opened becomes the main focus so that the user does not have to scroll to see the entire section.
Now you may be thinking, easy, anchor tag! Unfortunatly not, iv tried using anchor tags with name tags however this doesnt work, perhaps a conflict with the Javascript or an issue with the name tags being hidden when you click the links i dont no.

I have a simple form for a basic expense tracking app I am trying out. The form has about 8 inputs, either select boxes or text inputs.
It works fine when used on an iPhone. On an android phone with the stock browser running Android 2.2, when I select a text field to type in, the keyboard pops up, but the page scrolls upwards so that the submit button is visible.
The text field is hidden. I have to bring down the text field in focus again and once I start typing, it scrolls again to render the submit button.
This is the form, using Rails helpers:

Can anyone recommend a way to add a nice scrolling effect to the pager nav? I am using the imagethumbnails example as shown, but if the number of thumbnails exceeds the width of my div, I would like them to nicely scroll into and out of view as the slideshow continues. Perhaps in conjuction with another jQuery plugin?

I have two divs that are in the same parent div, only one is shown at once. When I toggle the one that is smaller (height-wise), the position of the scroll bar (and hence the user's current location on the page) remains the same. But when I toggle back to the taller div, the scroll bar launches you back up almost to the top of the page.Is there a way I can stop this from happening? I tried return false which i knew wouldn't work. I also looked into scrollTop() but that doesn't seem like it will be of any help since it only returns values and does not set any values?
